A TikTok user named @scottieprimpin is raising awareness about her cousin, Javion McGee, who recently died in Henderson, North Carolina.
Javion, a 21-year-old truck driver from Chicago, was found hanging from a tree, and police have ruled his death as a suicide.

However, his family doesn’t believe this and is asking for help to spread the word. According to the TikTok user, the police told the family that Javion McGee went to Walmart, bought a rope, and hanged himself. But the family feels something is wrong with this explanation.

They are suspicious and want more attention on the case. People online have also expressed their doubts, noting that Henderson is said to be a “sundown town.” This has made many people think that Javion may have been killed.
The family is also upset because they weren’t allowed to identify Javion’s body at first. The police reportedly told Javion’s mother that she couldn’t see the body because of COVID-19, then said she needed permission from his father.
A TikTok user said, “We obviously don’t believe that, and we are just asking for your help to push his story out there.”

After the mother asked for pictures of her son, the police suggested she wouldn’t want to see them. The police department in Henderson has said they’re not handling the case, and another local office, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating what happened.
“Since this morning, our agency has been mentioned in some Facebook posts about the investigation. I want to be clear, this incident did not occur in the City of Henderson, nor have we had any involvement in the investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office added.
Javion McGee’s family is now talking to the right people to try to find out the truth about his death. His cousin also made it clear that Javion wasn’t involved in street activities and was an innocent victim. People are waiting for more information on what happened to Javion.
