(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said multiple people were taken to the hospital after a Honda struck one car and then crossed over the median hitting another vehicle.
According to CSPD, on Monday, Sept. 16 at around noon, officers were called to the area of Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Union Boulevard about a multi-vehicle crash.
When officers arrived they learned that a Honda sedan was allegedly traveling east on Austin Bluffs at a high rate of speed when it hit an eastbound Chevrolet sedan. The Honda then traveled over the center median and hit a westbound Ford truck.
CSPD said multiple people were taken to the hospital, and the driver of the Honda was taken with life-threatening injuries.
The Major Crash Team was called to assist in the investigation and is currently in the early stages, according to CSPD. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
