The post, which went viral, suggested that Taylor Swift canceled her tour because of the backlash she received after endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
The post featured a collage of Swift and Harris and claimed that only 2,300 tickets were sold for the remaining tour dates.
However, this post was labeled as “satire,” which means it was meant to be a joke and not real news.
The SpaceX Fanclub’s Facebook bio clearly states that their posts are just for fun, with no relation to actual reality.
Taylor Swift did endorse Kamala Harris on Instagram, but this did not lead to any tour cancellations.
The claim about her having to cancel tour dates due to backlash is false. In reality, the tickets for her Eras Tour were sold out long before the tour started, and no tickets are available for refund.
The fake article also claimed that Taylor Swift’s tour dates had low ticket sales and that her endorsement had caused her to lose fans and brand deals.
Swift wrote in her endorsement statement, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
None of these claims are true. Taylor Swift did not release a statement saying she was canceling shows, nor did she lose followers or endorsements because of her political endorsement. The rumors about Taylor Swift canceling her tour are false.
