Tamzin Outhwaite has confirmed she has split from her toyboy boyfriend Tom Child, but also admitted she is ‘happy to be single’ for the first time in her life.
The 53-year-old actress dated Child, 33, for six years, whom she met at a yoga class in 2017. They split earlier this summer.
She was previously married to actor Tom Ellis, but the couple split in 2014 after he allegedly cheated on her with actress Emile De Ravin during the filming of the American series Once Upon a Time.
Speaking with The Mirror Of her new single status, Outhwaite shared, “I’m very happy. And being single and happy is a really nice place to be. And that only comes with life experience.”
Looking back on the breakup, she said, “Maybe I was single up until now, but I wasn’t happy. For anyone out there struggling, the most important relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself.”

She continued: There’s a lot of talk about people not wanting to be alone as they get older. I really enjoy being alone. Especially now, at this age, I really enjoy my own company.’
It’s the first time she’s spoken publicly about her latest breakup, and it seems like it’s a very different story from her divorce.
Ellis, 45, is the father of his children Flo, 16, and Marnie, 12, but he now lives in the US with his new wife Meaghan, 38, and their daughter Dolly, who is 10 months old.
Outhwaite currently stars in the Channel 5 drama The Wives and her character Sylvie has just gone through a divorce.
Her co-stars are her friends Angela Griffin, 48, and Jo Joyner, 47, who play Sylvie’s ex-sisters-in-law, Natasha and Beth.
In 2023, Outhwaite shared a post online marking the 10th anniversary of her divorce from her husband Ellis. She wrote: ’10 years ago today, the father of my children left us for the last time.’
The marriage reportedly ended after he admitted to having an affair with Australian actress Ravin, best known for her role as Claire Littleton in Lost, while they worked together on the American TV series Once Upon A Time in 2013.
In a now-deleted tweet, Outhwaite said she continues to hear more stories about Ellis’ alleged infidelity that occurred during their nine-year marriage.

Outhwaite wrote: ‘Ten years ago, the father of my children left us for the last time. I still meet new people on jobs who reveal more infidelity and lies than he committed.
‘But fortunately my heart and soul are pure and clean and I couldn’t be happier.’
The EastEnders actress later deleted the tweet and told her followers she was celebrating the decade since the failure of her marriage because she felt a “sense of triumph and pride” that she had overcome her grief.
She said: ‘Thank you all for your messages following my now deleted tweet.
‘I celebrated the 10th anniversary with pride, a sense of triumph and sincere gratitude.
“I understand that it has triggered some people. For anyone who is struggling, the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself.”
Outhwaite was introduced to Ellis in 2005 by his longtime friend, the actor James McAvoy, who had shared the stage with the actress.
