Taking in the harvest moon atop the Moonrise Hotel

ST. LOUIS – Getting everyone to agree on one thing is always tricky, but when it comes to the cosmos, there’s a collective sense of awe.

“There’s always a majesty about it,” Lyn Glaves said.

One of the best spots to get a look at Tuesday’s Harvest Moon? At The Moonrise Hotel along the Delmar Loop.

“If there’s a good place to do some stargazing, I’m guessing this is it,” Scott Bonebrake said.

There’s always a little bit of magic and pageantry when it comes to a full moon.

“When it’s full you can often see some of the details,” Glaves said.

Tuesday night’s Harvest Moon is considered a supermoon with a partial lunar eclipse.

“We are looking forward to it,” Laurie Hibbert said.

The full moon is expected to last until Thursday morning has some people on edge.

“A lot of wild stuff goes on at a full moon,” Dale Boeckman said.

While there’s no scientific evidence linking the lunar light to any late-night lunacy, some still believe in the moon’s bright powers.

“My mom was an ER nurse; I know stuff happens,” Bonebrake said.

There is one emotion we know for sure this full moon will produce.

“Every time I see a full moon, I grin,” Boeckman said.
