Springboks’ record against Argentina IN Argentina is GOOD

The Springboks and Argentina will clash for the 37th time in their history on Saturday, 21 September.

The two nations met for the first time as recently as 1993.

Kick-off in the Rugby Championship Test at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades in Santiago is at 23:00 (SA time).

The two sides have never previously met before at the venue for Saturday’s match.

Of the 36 matches to date, 17 have been held in Argentina and a similar number on South African soil.

Two matches – both won by the Springboks – have been contested on neutral ground: 2007 Rugby World Cup semi-final (37-13) and the 2015 Rugby World Cup bronze medal match (24-13).

In the 17 matches played on Argentinian soil, the Springboks have won 14, lost two and drawn one.

The draw (16-16) came back in 2012, while South Africa’s two defeats took place in 2016 (26-24) and 2018 (32-19).
