RIP: ‘Stokvel’ actor Timmy Kwebulana dies

Veteran actor and director Timmy Kwebulana has passed away aged 83.

TIMMY KWEBULANA DIES

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announces that actor Timmy Kwebulana has died.

The family of the Stokvel actor confirms in a statement that he died on Thursday evening, 19 September after a short illness.

“It is with sadness that the Kwebulana family officially announces the passing of long-time musician, actor and director Mr Timmy Kwebulana.”

“We give thanks for his life and all his contributions to us as a family and to the arts and entertainment industry for almost six decades.”

“May his legacy continue to inspire us and those who are still to come,” reads the statement.

TVSA reports that Kwebulana is best known for his roles in comedy TV shows Stokvel as Pastor Cecil, Mazinyo dot Q as Magic, Fishy Feshuns as Philemon.

The South African will give an update on his memorial and funeral services as soon as possible.
