29-year-old Justin Keith Higgs of Cedar Street in Rhodhiss was arrested by Hickory Police Sunday on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. He is wanted on a dangerous drugs charge out of Belmont County, Ohio. He was also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
Higgs was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held without bond on the fugitive warrant. Bond on the meth charge was set at $5,000. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled September 16 in Newton.
