GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Pitt County Fair is finally here after being postponed on Tuesday due to the heavy rain.
On Tuesday, rainy conditions filled the fairgrounds with puddles and muddy grass along the new paved path that goes through the fair. Volunteers worked hard all day on Wednesday to keep the fair in top shape, ready to welcome guests for opening day.
“I’m very appreciative of all the effort that they’ve put forth to supply all this displays and food trucks and everything that has gone into making this fair. Probably one of the best we’ve ever had,” said Bob Sheck, Pitt County Fair Manager.
The fair runs from Wednesday into Sunday. On Friday, the gates open at 4 p.m., but they open at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
