Parkinson Earns SAC Runner of the Week Honors

Lenoir-Rhyne’s Jacob Parkinson has been named the SAC Runner of the Week for the third time, thanks to his first-place finish at the Queen City Invite this past weekend. Racing a field comprised to runners from all three NCAA divisions, Parkinson won by two seconds with a time of 24:39.3, the second fastest 8K time of his collegiate career.

This marks the third career win for the senior, as he also won the JWU Wildcat XC Classic and the Queen City Invite in 2022. A national qualifier last season, Parkinson has already started his year off strong, as he set a new 6k personal best last week at the Virginia Tech Invitational, coming through with a time of 18:02.0.

Parkinson and the rest of the Bears will be back in action this Saturday, as they take part in the Converse Kick Off, held in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
