Nintendo is adding four more free games for all its Switch Online users and you can grab them now

OF the big three, Nintendo has by far the cheapest online offerings, allowing you to subscribe to its classic library for almost nothing.

Not only does Nintendo have the lowest price for its subscription service, Nintendo Switch Online, but it also never removes games from its library.

Unlike Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus, games are added, but never removed, from the Switch Online service.

This means you always get the deal you sign up for, or better.

Today (September 18, 2024), Nintendo has added four more games to Nintendo Switch Online from its classic library of SNES titles.

The headline game of the drop is a crossover between two fan-favourite series.

Battletoads/Double Dragon is a Rare beat ‘em up where you can choose to play as one of the three Battletoads or as one of the two protagonists from Double Dragon.

There is also a two-player mode so you can take on the challenge with a friend.

Much like the Rare series it’s based on, Battletoads, this crossover is known for its brutal difficulty, which makes it even better with Switch Online’s save state feature.

The other game from the same era is Big Run, a racing game with impressive 3D graphics for the time it was developed.

The aim is to race from Tripoli in Libya to Dakar, Senegal in a series of desert-style rally races.

Cosmo Gang The Puzzle has also joined Nintendo Switch Online, which is a falling block puzzle game similar to Puyo Puyo.

Players rotate and drop blocks of characters and aim to make them line up in groups so that they disappear.

The final game that’s been added to Nintendo Switch Online was previously only available on Nintendo consoles in Japanese.

In Japan, Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shugo! was released for the SNES, and later in English on PlayStation under the name Super Dodge Ball.

As you may guess from the title, this is a dodge ball game where you play as the captain and give directions to your teammates.

Here are all the games that have been added to Nintendo Switch Online September 2024:

  • SNES
    • Battletoads/Double Dragon
    • Big Run
    • Cosmo Gang The Puzzle
    • Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shugo!
