Ngcobo rated after first match at new club

Kaizer Chiefs took to long to offer Njabulo Ngcobo a new contract. The 30-year-old soon signed for Sekhukhune United before Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival at Amakhosi.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED SIGN NJABULO NGCOBO FROM KAIZER CHIEFS

The central defender from Folweni, KwaZulu Natal left Soweto before the official expiry of his deal on 30 June. According to his agent, Kaizer Chiefs were silent for too long regarding Ngcobo’s possible new contract.

The former Uthongathi and Moroka Swallows star officially joined Babina Noko before the start of the Betway Premiership.

DEBUT AGAINST MAGESI FC

The former Kaizer Chiefs defender helped Sekhukhune to a clean sheet in last weekend’s 1-0 win over rookies Magesi.

“I think everybody knows that he was a Defender of The Season at some stage. So, we knew that when we got him, we have got a quality defender,” his coach Seema said via FARPost.

“But, I must say that his partnership with Langa [Sikhisonke] they worked very hard.

 “I’m happy to have him [Njabulo Ngcobo]. He is working hard. That’s one good thing when you have a good player who puts in good effort during training and the games. So, that is a plus for the team to have him,” Seema concluded.

GEORGE MALULEKA LOOKING FINDS NEW TEAM

Remember George Maluleka‘s football at SuperSport UnitedAjax Cape TownKaizer Chiefs, and briefly at Mamelodi Sundowns? The Tembisa-born midfielder is still active.

Following his exit from AmaZulu in June, the 35-year-old is joining Mpumalanga’s Kruger United in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

“Former AmaZulu midfielder George Maluleka is set to join Kruger United,” iDiski Times reported.

“Maluleka, 35, has been without a club since the expiry of his contract with Usuthu and has now agreed terms with the newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side.

“He’s set to sign a one-year deal with an option to extend, as he looks to add valuable experience to the squad that’s currently in ninth place after their first three games,” the report added.
