Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge have openly discussed their famous feud, which saw the two ‘hate each other to death’.

The stars of My Kitchen Rules came to blows when Colin posted negative messages about Manu on Twitter, saying he was a ‘TV chef’.

In an episode of MKR last year, Manu said that the cold reception made it very difficult when Colin eventually joined the show.

“That guy hates me and I hate him,” Manu told producers when he learned of the appointment.

In a new episode of Charlie Albone’s podcast This is how we grow, The couple reflected on how they managed to build a friendship from the ashes.

“Let’s cut to the chase, we had no idea. I may have called him… something on Twitter, I called him a… bleep,” Colin said.

‘Then Ricky, the creator of MKR, called and I said, I don’t want to be a TV chef, I want to be a real chef.’

Manu added that Colin saw TV chefs as “dumbs” and that the two were “not friends” when they first worked together.

“On the last day of shooting, we went to our rooms and I heard someone knocking on the door and he said, ‘Thank you for your help and I apologize for being so awkward,’” Manu said.

“And then we became really good friends. Now we’ve been together on MKR for 10 years and last year we worked together for eight months.”

The pair previously admitted they were misled after Colin attacked Manu before the show.

“The salty secret is that Colin and I started off on the wrong foot. Because when I started in TV, most of the chefs in the industry thought I had sold my soul,” says Manu.

Colin added: ‘I said he was sold out.’

Manu explained the criticism as follows: ‘They said I was no longer a chef, but a TV celebrity.’

“Let’s get to the point, we didn’t do it. I may have called him… something on Twitter, I gave him a… beep…” Colin said

The two chefs explained how difficult it would be to film together.

“I was told, ‘Oh, we’re going to get a new chef – Colin Fassnidge.’ And I thought, ‘What?! This guy hates me and I hate him,’” Manu said.

Colin added: ‘So on the first day of MKR, I walked in and they were like, ‘Have you met Manu?’ And I was like, ‘S***.’

“We’ve done the season. It’s been a tough learning curve for me.”

Manu said they only resolved their differences at the end of the show, after which Colin apologized.
