A BBC NEWSREADER was forced to sprint across the show’s set just seconds before her live broadcast.
Alice Bhandhukravi was at the helm of Wednesday night’s BBC News at 10 for London when the blunder happened.
The seasoned presenter had opened the programme, after taking over from Sophie Raworth who hosted the national bulletin.
However, Alice could be seen running across the studio to her desk as the titles finished rolling.
The newsreader appeared to get her opening position wrong, resulting in the last-minute sprint to her desk.
Catching her breath, Alice remained professional as she brought viewers the evening’s top stories.
However, eagle-eyed BBC viewers caught the epic blunder and were left in fits of laughter.
Taking to social media, one said: “How not to start the BBC London News bulletin, run forrest run.”
A second joked: “I’ll be making a complaint to ofcom. All news readers should be ready at their desk to present. Lol.”
“A new programme format: Race Around the Studio,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “You styled it out beautifully. Good job.”
Alice – who has been a presenter and reporter at the Beeb since 2006 – took to social media to comment on the blunder.
She humorously told fans: “I have apparently qualified for the 10m dash (across the studio) in the 2028 Games.”
The hilarious gaffe comes after Beeb host Annita McVeigh was left mortifed when she was caught scrolling on her phone live on air.
The presenter was at the helm of the lunchtime bulletins when she was blissfully unaware she was live on TV.
