CORRECTION (9/18/2024 – 8:18 P.M.)The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office issued a correction, stating that the man went missing on September 12, not August 12.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — The Spartanburg County sheriff’s office is searching for a man who left his home nearly a week ago, and has not been seen since.

Deputies said Ross Dean Alford, 42, was last seen on September 12, leaving a home on Anderson Mill Road.

Alford is 6’3″ and weighs around 240 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

When the 42-year-old was last seen, the sheriff’s office said he had a goatee and was wearing a dark t-shirt, khaki shorts, tan shoes and was carrying a plastic grocery bag.

Alford had only lived at the Anderson Mill Road residence for a week, after moving to the area from Charleston.

The man left home without any of his medications or cell phone.

“All efforts to locate him this far have been unsuccessful,” the sheriff’s office explained.
