Male Instacart shoppers slammed for being lazy

Reddit and X users have criticized male Instacart shoppers, accusing them of being lazy or making mistakes when ordering

Men who make a living as shoppers for Instacart are too lazy for some social media users to deal with.

Several users on X criticize male shoppers for their work ethic and sometimes accuse them of making mistakes with orders.

This criticism came shortly after Reddit users started a conversation about the issue in a after.

One Reddit user wrote, “Low tip, low effort. High tip, high effort.”

Instacart currently has over 600,000 customers and remains popular despite the huge increase in grocery prices.

One of the biggest complaints X users had about male Instacart shoppers involved the products they selected as replacement items.

“My friend needed chicken broth and this guy replaced it with chicken legs. CHICKEN LEGS,” an X user placed.

Another X user recalled a time when a male Instacart shopper wanted to replace Cheez-Its with a large block of cheese.

Another one wrote: “You mean to tell me you can’t find a substitute for chocolate chip cookie dough at the store. I HATE MALE INSTACART BUYING HATE HATE HATE.”

Reddit users have also expressed concern about male Instacart shoppers, a topic that has come up more and more on the platform in recent years.

Several Reddit users have called male Instacart shoppers “idiots” and “failures” over the past two months.

“My personal experience with male shoppers has been horrible. I have absolute faith that men can be competent, successful shoppers. I just haven’t been assigned one yet,” one Reddit user wrote in July.

Some Redditors criticized female shoppers for being “just as bad.”

‘I’ve personally had more bad female shoppers than male shoppers to be honest lol and it’s not even close. Male shoppers have less attitude, are faster, FRIENDLY FRIENDLY and usually care more about your order,’ wrote one commenter.

Male Instacart shoppers are expressing dissatisfaction with their work ethic and insist that gender doesn’t play a big role in it.

“I think it creates issues because the vast majority of shoppers are male, and most of them are new Canadians and Americans, especially if you message them and they don’t understand what you’re asking them or telling them,” Instacart shopper Mike Romagnoli told HuffPost.

“The customer also has to be attentive and alert. Otherwise you’re going to have a bad time.”

Based on five years of experience, the Toronto shopper has one piece of advice for male shoppers: “Always greet the customer when you go shopping.”

Otherwise they risk losing a tip.

“Customers do have that option, and there’s nothing we can do about it, even though we’re doing a great job,” Romagnoli said of tipping.

‘Unfortunately, we depend on tips and are already underpaid.’

Several X users admitted they don’t tip their Instacart customers, and a handful said they would give a man more money if he got an order right.

“I had a male Instacart shopper. He got everything. I was shocked,” said one user wrote“I even increased his tip.”
