Lenoir-Rhyne’s Kayli Cleaver has been named the SAC WePlayed Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Cleaver helped lead the Bears to a 5-0 week and is a major piece in LR’s 9-0 start.
In the Bear’s home opener against Coker on Tuesday night, Cleaver recorded a season-high of 20 kills, leading the home side to a 3-1 victory. This past weekend, Cleaver led the Bears to a 4-0 record at the Mount Olive Invitational. She totaled 51 kills, including 35 in her final two matches. Over the course of the four games, she hit an incredible .339, all while tallying 15 digs and contributed ten blocks. Cleaver currently ranks second in the SAC at 3.41 kills per set and is third with 109 total kills.
The Newberry Wolves are next on deck for the Bears. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night in Shuford Arena.
