I’m a dermatologist – my 3-step routine keeps skin ‘tight and bright,’ and can get rid of crepey skin on the neck too

In his viral video, TikTok user Dr. Chris Tomassian (@dr.tomassian) revealed the ingredients that help with signs of ageing.

He explained that his routine includes “ingredients to keep your skin tight and bright.”

For his first recommendation, he advised his audience to invest in a Vitamin C serum.

You can pick up a 15 mililitre bottle of Vitamin C serum for just £6 from Boots.

According to the professional, you should apply a layer of the product to your face and neck every morning.

Skincare experts recommend Vitamin C to tackle ageing as it boosts collagen production.

For his next tip, Dr. Tomassian referred to a regular skincare favourite.

The skincare expert told his TikTok followers to apply “sunscreen daily.”

You can pick up a bottle of Soltan Protect & Moisture Lotion for £4.50 from Boots.

Overexposure to the sun’s rays can break down the collagen in your skin, causing it to wrinkle.

Finally, the doctor named the item you should be applying before bed.

Dr. Tommassian recommended incorporating a retinol serum or lotion into your nightly routine.

The Ordinary’s Retinol 1% Serum is available for just £8.50 from Boots.

Retinol is another ingredient proven to stimulate the production of collagen.

According to the doctor, there’s also a handy way you can save money on your skincare routine.

The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine

Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez – known as Dr Dray – revealed why you should wear suncream.

The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference – and this matters for all ages – is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed.

“The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation,” she continued, not because you’re “not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday”.

“If you’re not doing in your 20s, get on that now.”

But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn’t go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun.

Doing this over your lifetime – and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days – “will reduce the visible signs of photoageing”, Andrea said.

Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin.

“Use the same face products on the body too, [you] don’t need new products,” he explained.

He added that restricting the products to your face will leave you with a youthful complexion and a “wrinkled neck.”

His followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.

“Thank you!!! I’d never even think about it,” wrote one impressed viewer.

“Thank you for all the tips,” said another TikTok user.
