So, if you’re looking to be better with your finances or want to treat yourself to a luxury holiday, you’ve come to the right place.

As millions of cash-stripped households are struggling to make ends meet due to the soaring costs, money-smart Milly explained that the secret behind saving is a special ”box challenge”.

Like many, Milly and her partner ”used to be so bad at saving” – but a simple wooden box made it a breeze.

The now-viral video, which has been viewed more than a staggering million times, also saw Milly showcase the box that was decorated with a range of various numbers, such as five, ten, 20 and 50.

Each of of these was the paper notes the couple would then be putting inside whenever they had change.

Once the note had gone in, she explained, they’d tick off the number with a marker.

Raving over the fun money-saving method, Milly said they were able to put money aside for the ultimate treat – a winter holiday this year.

”We used to be so bad at saving and we felt so happy marking off our progress as we went along.

”And it brought us closer with managing our finances – and stopped us dipping into my husband’s bank.”

Advising others to give this challenge a go, Milly said it was ”a great way to save your spare change”.

”And if you have a friend or a partner, it’s a great way to save together,” said Milly who was putting the notes in on a weekly basis.

The best part? Once you’ve saved up the £10k, you can wipe off the marker and reuse the box for another challenge.

The creative idea clearly struck a chord with TikTok users – as the clip has since racked up a staggering 34.5k likes and more than 100 comments.

”Saving for winter, I’m wanting to go to Lapland,” one travelling lover wrote.
