A picture of a purple-coloured apple is causing a huge buzz on social media platforms.

The picture of the purple apple was first posted by a user named Marian Spencer on September 11.

The post read,

“The Purple Apple originating from Saskatchewan, Canada thrives in its chilly climate, boasting a flavor profile reminiscent of cinnamon and banana sometimes referred to as “Canadian Grapes”.

The post also claimed that the fruit with its scintillating purple skin and generously coloured interiors is the main ingredient of purple apple sauce which is a delicacy among the natives of Saskatchewan.

It added that this culinary creation not only signifies the cultural heritage but also helps to foster community pride and unity.

It further glorified the health benefits of the fruit and the economic benefits which the community can accrue from the fruit.

It added that it is also an opportunity to showcase the unique and rich cultural and culinary traditions of Saskatchewan region.

The post became viral and gained huge traction with 85,000 reactions and 6,900 comments. The post was shared 41,000 times and still counting.

Is the Purple Apple from Saskatchewan, Canada a Real Phenomenon or a Myth?

However, the post and its contents are all fabricated and fake and there is no such fruit as the purple apple which is found in the Saskatchewan region.

According to the website Best Lagos, Marian Spencer is known for creating fake AI-generated images and then sharing them on social media.

The creation of AI images was also a topic of discussion at the World Congress of Horticulture and how it is affecting the industry.

Users can use AI to create images which look real but it doesn’t exist.

Many users have also commented on the post and said that there is no such purple apple which is native to the region. They also stated that there is no purple apple which tastes like bananas.

Calynda Triffa who lives in Regina Saskatchewan was one such user who negated the contents of the post.

Another user who went by the name of Mostafa Kamal Palash said that he has been living in Saskatchewan for the last six years and never came across any such apple. 

Cecilia Jean another user said that she had travelled widely across the country and could say decisively that there is no such fruit as called Purple apple.

Another user named Carson Cillis slammed the post and the creators and labelled it as stupid and offensive. Another Saskatchewan based website called CJME also stated that no such fruit existed.
