Because of erroneous information provided by Oakland Police to the California Department of Justice, a story published Sunday, August 18, about the city of Colma’s crime rates incorrectly reported Oakland’s violent crime rate. The city had the second-highest rate of violent crime in the Bay Area in 2023.
