Confirmed! fan favourite leaves Mamelodi Sundowns for shock rival

Mamelodi Sundowns have finalized yet another departure from their ranks, ahead of transfer deadline this evening.

Sundowns have continued to balance out their incomings with outgoings, as they look to trim a bloated squad.

Squad refresh at Sundowns

Sundowns have not been afraid to show some high profile players the exit door during this transfer window. The likes of Bongani Zungu, Gaston Sirino, Junior Mendieta and Bafana Bafana star Sydney Mobbie have left. Goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has also been granted another opportunity on loan at SuperSport United. That is not where it will end however, with Sipho Mbule that latest to be loaned out.

Since joining an already formidable Sundowns side, Mbule has failed to make an impact. He has found himself as largely a bit part player. Competing with the likes Marcelo Allende, Themba Zwane, Tashreeq Matthews, Siphesihle Mkhulise, Neo Maema and Thembinkosi Lorch has seen him fall in the pecking order. Players like Mokoena, Bathusi Aubaas, and now Aubrey Modiba have also not helped his cause. It was perhaps no surprise that news came out about his potential exit last night.

Sekhukhune United were immediately regarded as the front runners to take Mbule away from Sundowns. That deal has now been confirmed as a loan deal according to iDiski Times.

Mbule joins Sekhukhune on loan

“Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule has secured a season-long loan move to Sekhukhune United. As reported earlier this week by iDiski Times, a season-long loan offers was tabled to Sundowns, and approved by the club, pending Mbule’s go-ahead for the move. This website has reliably been informed the final agreement has been reached, with the technically gifted midfielder set to report to the club tomorrow on deadline day.” Wrote the publication.

Mbule will now be hoping to resurrect his career as a regular at Sekhukhune. At age 26, a good season at Babina Noko could see him return to Sundowns. Masandawana, how do you feel about this move? Leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
