Anthony Joshua reckons he’s fighting ‘new Frank Bruno’ as he gears up for blockbuster heavyweight clash vs Daniel Dubois

ANTHONY JOSHUA reckons he will be fighting the ‘new Frank Bruno’ on Saturday at Wembley.

The Watford icon, 34, sees Daniel Dubois as the latest version of British legend Bruno — who needed four cracks to land a heavyweight world title.

Frank Bruno became a world champ on the fourth time of asking[/caption]

Dynamite Dan has only lost one attempt so far — against Oleksandr Usyk — but also took flak after surrendering to Joe Joyce in his only other loss.

When Bruno won the WBC crown by beating Oliver McCall at Wembley in 1995, it was one of the most beautiful moments in modern boxing memory.

Dubois, 27, backed by Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren, will carry that underdog mentality almost 30 years later — and AJ knows it.

Joshua said: “They believe in him. He keeps getting opportunity after opportunity. It reminds me of the Frank Bruno story.

“He had opportunity after opportunity to become the heavyweight world champion and finally achieved it.”

Defending IBF champ Dubois is flying under latest coach Don Charles.

But it is respected assistant Ian Duberry — brother of ex-Prem defender Michael — who Joshua knows best from his days on remand at Reading prison.

AJ said: “I know Don well but I know Ian Duberry better. He was a mentor and a head of the youth offenders system when I was involved in it.

Rubbing shoulders with the glitterati does not impress old-school fighter AJ.

ANTHONY JOSHUA VS DANIEL DUBOIS: All the information you need ahead of huge world title fight at Wembley

He said: “I’ve never been a person who is caught up in the superstar thing. I just look at the character of people.

“When I learn about their character, I take it back to my community.

“Rather than just be in awe of these people, who everybody admires, I try to tap into their minds and psyches and learn how they got to where they are.

“These people could charge thousands of pounds for meetings — imagine how much a Cristiano Ronaldo consultation would cost — so when I’m ringside with him, I use the chance to pick his brain.”

A possible spring showdown with Tyson Fury for all four world belts is still a dream.

But Joshua claimed: “I’m more of a short-term dreamer.

“I approach every week thinking, ‘What can I achieve this week?’.

“So I’m not looking for undisputed. I’m looking at this week, then the next.”

But one bargain hunter has found a way to keep the cold air out all winter long with a £12.50 buy.

Sharing the find on social media, Melis wrote: “Anyone looking for thermal curtains for balcony door or front door!!!!

Argos Thermal door curtain in 4 colours grey, charcoal, green, can’t remember the other colour, comes in 2 different sizes I went for 117 by 213cm – fit perfectly with a little touching the floor.

“Fully lined, quite heavy and great value for money both sizes are currently 50% off.

“Well needed for now and the colder months ahead.”

The curtains usually cost £25 but were currently on offer for half price at £12.50.

Not only is great to stock up on now with the cold weather already hitting the UK but it will ensure your home stays toasty throughout the winter.

And mthey also can help save money on you energy bills by keeping your house insulated.

Research carried out by ESS found that curtains alone have the potential to decrease your energy consumption by up to 15%.

That could lead to savings of up to £30 annually on your utility bills.

The post was a hit on the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where plenty of people liked the post and tagged friends to alert them to the money saving deal.

One member of the group revealed they were tempted by the buy, writing: “We have had ours years now can’t remember how much we paid but well worth the money! And washes lovely too!

“But seeing this I think I’m going to get one for the back door too now.”

Argos bosses say: “Perfect for hanging by a draughty door, this thermal curtain helps eliminate draughts to keep your house toasty.

5 ways to keep your house warm in winter

Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.

1. Curtains

“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.

This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.

2. Rugs

“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.

“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”

3. Check your insulation

Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.

“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.

4. Keep your internal doors closed

“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.

“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”

5. Block drafts

Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure.

“Made from a thick material, it keeps the warm in and the cold out, so you’ll spend less on the central heating.

“As well as its thermal properties it’ll also darken the room and give you privacy.”

Another home decor addition that can make a massive difference is rugs. says property expert Joshua Houston.

“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” Joshua explained to Household Quotes.

“You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.

“So instead add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”

Russia gave Iran nuclear bomb secrets in return for missiles to strike Ukraine, West fears

RUSSIA handed Iran critical nuclear secrets in return for ballistic missiles to pelt Ukraine, the West fears.

The doomsday deal was discussed at crunch White House talks between Joe Biden and Keir Starmer on Friday, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin[/caption]

The mad mullahs’ decades long bid for the bomb is believed by some intelligence sources to be close to an end game, with the desperate Kremlin feared to be getting them over the line.

The US and UK declassified intelligence last week to reveal Moscow had taken a shipment of Iran’s Fath-360 ballistic missiles.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken used a visit to London to warn: “Russia is sharing technology that Iran seeks — this is a two way street — including on nuclear issues, as well as some space information.”

The threat was chewed over between the PM and President who were said to have acknowledged the massive risk of the global game changer that Israel says would see them wiped out.

In retaliation for the missile shipment, Iran Air has been banned from flying over or landing in Britain and Russian shipping firms have been slapped with sanctions for making the shipments.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy accused Tehran of a “dangerous escalation”, but the Iranians denied they were involved.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has spoken movingly of the plight of hero Ukrainian troops on the sharp end of Putin’s bombardment.

And he heaped pressure on the US and UK to allow President Zelensky to use British kit to hit targets in Russia.

The ex-PM told the Sun on Sunday: “It is heartbreaking to visit wounded veterans in recovery centres – as I have in Kyiv this weekend – where Ukrainian heroes are being treated for the injuries they have suffered in the past few months, and to think that some of these casualties could have been avoided if we had given Storm Shadow permissions earlier.

He added: “There is no conceivable case for delay.

“The only person who fears escalation is Vladimir Putin and every day that goes by is a lost opportunity to save lives and bring about a just conclusion to this war”

Ukraine is staring at a long, hard winter of fighting against the Russians.

The fight has been made far harder after Iran sent Russia deadly ballistic missiles to help their onslaught.

This has piled pressure on the UK and US to let Ukraine use the British-made Storm Shadow missile system in retaliation.

These are long-range missiles which can strike deep into the heart of Russian territory.

Sir Keir urging allies to allow the use of the weapons.

But the US President is worried they could end up escalating the conflict.

Putin has warned that Russia would be at war” with Nato powers if they signed off use of the missiles.

The White House summit discussed allowing Ukraine to bomb Russia – but no final decision has been announced.

Sir Keir Starmer will travel to Italy on Monday to discuss using Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russia – as the Italians have a stake in the lethal airborne weapons system.

British sources say the PM would next be urging the French and Germans to back his support for the major escalation in Western support for Ukraine’s two an half year suffering at the hands of Russia.

Iran is a despotic regime which spreads murder and fear throughout the Middle East and beyond.

They bankroll Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis – all Islamist terrorists who want to wipe out Israel and the West.

A deal to limit Iran’s nuclear programme collapsed six years ago – leaving it totally unchecked.

If they finally get their hands on a nuke there are fears they could use it to launch a  devastating attack on Israel and further their mission to plunge the world back into the Dark Ages.

Irahn could have nuclear weapons within months, warns Mark Almond, Director of the Crisis Research Institute, Oxford.

The West fears Iran is on the verge of getting a workable nuclear weapon with Russia’s help.

For many years, Iran has been enriching uranium. It seems to have enough to make a nuclear warhead.

But Iran needs two other things to turn the uranium into a mega-destructive nuclear weapon.

We know it has the missiles needed because even though Israel shot down most of the missiles launched at it from Iran in April. Remember it would take only ONE nuclear-armed rocket to get through to wreak havoc.

But the most important component of a nuclear weapon is the detonator inside the missile’s warhead which sets off the nuclear explosion on target.

If the detonator doesn’t work, then they would be just tossing a lump of radioactive rock at an enemy – polluting, not devastating.

Being sure the Ayatollah’s Bomb would work is essential to turning it into an immediate devastating threat.

This is where Russian help could be decisive.

Russia has been making nuclear weapons since 1949. Putin’s scientists have refined the art of making all the necessary parts of a workable nuclear bomb.

Iran has yet to test a nuclear warhead.

The West and Israel could detect the small earthquake set off by an underground nuclear explosion.

Russia – like America – has mastered the technology to test nuclear warheads without setting off an explosion which would alert the world.

If Russia is sharing its nuclear secrets with Iran in return for the hundreds of conventional missiles Teheran is sending to help in its brutal attack on Ukraine, then Iran could have working nuclear weapons within a few months.

Doing that would break UN sanctions, but Putin has shown contempt for them by doing arms deals with another pariah, North Korea.

The North Korean dictator, Kim Jong un – Donald Trump’s “rocket man” – has already exploded nuclear warheads underground. Iranian scientists are known to have visited North Korea too.

Russia’s willingness to cooperate with rogue states like Iran and North Korea makes the risk of Iran going nuclear by early 2025 rise alarmingly.

While the West dithers about the level of aid to give to defend itself, Russia is helping Iran speed towards having its own Bomb.

Shifting the West’s attention to the Middle East from Ukraine suits Putin.

But this isn’t a game of whack-a-mole.

If Russia is turning  Iran into a nuclear power,  the chain-reaction could engulf the world far beyond its borders.

Helen Flanagan’s footballer ex Scott Sinclair moves on with new girlfriend two years after split from ex-Corrie star

Our exclusive picture shows Scott, 35, and Lauren holding hands after a date at the Prada Caffé at Harrods on Wednesday.

Helen, currently appearing on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, split from him more than two years ago and she has recently started seeing former footballer Robbie Talbot, 44.

Ex-Man City and Celtic winger Scott first met Lauren, who supports ADHD kids, six years ago through family.

It is believed Helen has met her.

Lauren is from his home city of Bath, close to where he is currently playing for League One side Bristol Rovers.

A source said: “They’re getting on well and really enjoy each other’s company.

“They met through family years back. Scott and Lauren just hit it off a few months ago and started dating.

“At the moment, they just want to see where things go.”

Helen and Scott were together for 13 years before they broke up in 2022.

They have three children and Helen previously told our Fabulous magazine: “I love Scott and I know that he loves me, but I suppose we just don’t like each other very much at the moment.”

On Celebs Go Dating this month, Helen dismissed rumours of a “throuple” with David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne but admitted having a relationship with the ex-boxing champ, 43.

She said: “It was quite something. It’s really hard for me to talk about it.

“He had a girlfriend and an open relationship. I didn’t mean to fall in love with him but I did.”

Lauren declined to comment.

I’m 35 & had lines forming between my brows – a drugstore ‘miracle’ made them disappear, my skin is glowing & plump

A SKINCARE enthusiast has shared a drugstore product she’s dubbed a miracle for her skin.

The accessible buy, she said, vanished her wrinkles and fine lines.

She revealed that hydrolyzed collagen supplements, pictured, made the lines between her brows disappear (stock photo)[/caption]

Redditor Maleficent-Bet-3197 shared the anti-aging tips in a post.

Beauty, she explained, starts from within – which she meant literally.

“Think about adding a hydrolyzed collagen supplement to your diet,” she urged.

“I’ve been a skincare junkie since puberty and have no wrinkles yet at 35, but I could see a hint of line forming between my brows.”

She’d tried collagen supplements for a short while in her 20s and noticed a huge difference after adding them back into her routine.

“Within a month, I saw improvements in my skin (it’s just glowing and looks really plump and buoyant), and there’s no longer even a hint of a line between my brows,” she said.

“That stuff is a miracle drug (also took care of all my joint pain).”

Other self-care steps that have helped her include drinking more water and adding hyaluronic acid supplements to her diet.

The supplements, she explained, help the body hydrate “more efficiently.”

She added that topical application of hyaluronic acid can go a long way to plumping the skin.

The Ordinary makes a nice, affordable one that I’ve been using for several years!” she said.

“I wash my face, gently pat dry so there’s a little moisture left behind, and then apply the serum and gently rub it into my skin. It really helps with hydrating your skin!”

Her biggest tip, however, is to take preventative measures, like wearing sunscreen daily, to keep wrinkles away in the first place.

“I would also recommend that you start wearing a sunscreen of SPF 50 every single day,” she said.

Anti-aging tips and 'superstar' products

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.

She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.

“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It then can heal faster, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”

Dr. Moore’s skincare staples:

The skincare aficionado raved about the benefits of tretinoin, which she dubbed the singular “best ingredient for anti-aging,” sunscreen aside.

Although she noted that the treatment takes some time to get used to, it’s worth it in the long run.

The Redditor swore by tretinoin, saying it is so effective that it’s kept her friends off cosmetic procedures.

“I have friends who got Botox, started tretinoin, and then eventually quit getting Botox because the tretinoin took care of their problem areas,” she said.

She added that anyone not using tretinoin was making a colossal mistake.

“Everyone’s skin is different, but if you are able to use tretinoin, it would be stupid not to!” she said.
