SEVERAL migrants have died off the coast of France while attempting to cross the Channel.
A number of asylum seekers have died off the coast between the French ports of Calais and Boulougne.

A local official said “several migrants lost their lives” in the tragedy but did not specify how many.
It comes just two weeks after 12 people including six children and a pregnant woman died when another small boat sank in the Channel.
Yesterday it was revealed Sir Keir Starmer will use Italy’s success in cracking down on the Mafia as a blueprint to take on people-smugglers.
The PM will fly to Rome today and hold crunch talks on the small boats crisis with Italian leader Giorgia Meloni.
He will use the summit to announce he has appointed a boss to lead his new UK Border Security Command.
A Labour source said: “Our Border Security Command will pursue illicit finance, dismantle supply chain networks and take down the crime bosses making millions out of small boat crossings.
“We know Italy has had great success tackling organised crime gangs, including the Mafia.
“And we want to learn from the work they have done at home and abroad, so we can take down the awful criminal smuggling mob blighting our waters.”

5 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on Why are Arsenal not wearing their red kit against Tottenham?
ARSENAL are all set to face bitter North London rivals Tottenham in another thrilling Premier League encounter – but they will NOT be wearing red.
The Gunners did the double over Spurs last season, most recently beating them in a five-goal thriller after leading 3-0 at half-time.
Arsenal beat Tottenham 3-2 in this same fixture last season[/caption]
And other than the result, another thing both games had in common was that Arsenal wore their traditional red kit for each win.
But for the first time in recent North London Derby history, this will not be the case.
Why are Arsenal not wearing their red kit?
The PGMOL and Premier League ruled that Arsenal’s 2024/25 home kit features too much white which clashes with Tottenham’s traditional colours.
Arsenal also discussed the option of wearing red shorts and red socks but it was rejected.
As a result, for the first time in recent ‘NLD’ history, the Gunners will be wearing their changed colours – a black Adidas away kit.

They’ll be aiming to clinch a third-straight victory at the Tottenham Hotspur venue.
The decision by the PGMOL and Premier League will also mean Tottenham will wear different colours when they visit Emirates Stadium in January.
What happened in the last North London derby?
Arsenal picked up a huge win over Tottenham in the last North London Derby which at the time, helped them move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Gunners dominated a controversial first half that saw Spurs being denied Micky van de Ven’s equaliser as well as two penalty appeals by James Maddison and Timo Werner.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men still managed to lead 3-0 by half-time thanks to an own goal by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and goals by Bukayo Saka as well as Kai Havertz.
Spurs tied to stage a dramatic comeback with Cristian Romero’s strike and Son Heung-min‘s penalty kick but Arteta’s men held firm.

WATCHING his two-year-old daughter and grandmother Sally play together, Eric Hill allowed himself to smile for the first time in a long while.
However he had no clue about the horror which was about to unfold, with his doting gran brutally killed just weeks later by a woman he had brought into their lives – a wife who he once loved.
When Eric Hill met Rosa it was love at first sight and he was delighted when she agreed to go on a date with him[/caption]
The dad had been locked in a bitter custody battle with his estranged wife Rosa for months, during which his ex had become increasingly erratic, going to extreme lengths in a bid to win.
She’d got him suspended from work, lying and telling them he was dangerous – and she’d even falsely and sickeningly reported him for sexual abuse against his own daughter.
Yet nobody could’ve predicted just how far she, and her mother Mei Li who Rosa was in cohorts with, were prepared to go.
Until one fateful afternoon when Eric’s mum Sally, 91, was strangled to death, and her body dumped headfirst into a rubbish bin.
The pair even tried to frame bereft grandson Eric – who was also injured that day at the hands of Rosa and Mei Li – for the murder.
Tragically Eric’s 91-year-old grandmother Selma – known to most as Sally – was an unknowing pawn in Rosa’s callous custody plan, which she concocted with her mother, Mei[/caption]
Now, Eric has opened up about the horrifying experience in new Netflixtrue crime documentary Worst Ex Ever, recounting the harrowing story from the very beginning…
Love at first sight
Eric and Rosa’s ‘love story’ began in 2002, when technician Eric first met Rosa’s mum Mei at a training course.
Eric says: “We just started talking, and got along. She was friendly, she was outgoing.”
In October 2002, Mei invited Eric to go on a hike, and that’s when he met her daughter, Rosa, who worked as an engineer at a tech company.
Eric says: “She had a very strong, logical mind, very analytical. I was just fascinated. She seemed to enjoy the stupid jokes I would say.
“I got up my courage and I asked Rosa out.”
Over the following months the pair got to know each other, going on trips and dates.
Eric’s dad Gregory says: “He seemed happy, and I was happy for him.
I was constantly in a state of fear. Any minute I could lose my job, never see my daughter again, possibly lose my freedom if they believed her.”
Eric
“It seemed like it was getting serious rather quickly… Rosa was his first real girlfriend.”
However, Rosa at times behaved bizarrely, which at times raised eyebrows among Eric’s family and friends.
Gregory says: “I would ask her questions and she would whisper in his ear and Eric would answer.
“Initially I thought she was shy but I know now that is a kind of way of controlling the room.
“And I remember on our phone calls, Rosa was always listening in, and he had a code word to let me know. It was just odd, odd behaviour.”
Eric says: “I’m not a super outgoing person, but I guess I was more outgoing than she was. At least that’s what I thought at the time.”
Rosa was Eric’s first ever serious girlfriend, and he doted on her – but she was pretty controlling from the beginning[/caption]
‘I felt everything’s coming together’
On Valentine’s day 2004, Eric plucked up the courage to ask Rosa to marry him, saying: “When she said yes I was elated, I was excited.”
Eric’s grandmother Selma, known as Sally, who he was very close to, was also thrilled.
Eric says: “She was a doting grandmother, a very generous person.
“She was also very friendly. She really wanted to talk to Rosa about wedding plans and was so full of energy.
“Mei seemed very happy and thrilled and already had lots of ideas. Rosa and Mei were really tight.
“I felt like everything’s coming together.”
Eric’s grandmother Selma, known as Sally, was thrilled at news the couple were engaged[/caption]
‘She threw a punch at me’
In April 2005, the pair wed – but things rapidly took a turn for the worst.
Eric says: “About a week into our honeymoon we ended up having a really big fight.
“She threw a punch at me. She missed me but that was the first real warning sign.”
Additionally while Eric worked, Rosa didn’t, and having got into debt to pay for the wedding and honeymoon, the couple began to have money problems.
Eric says: “We had a lot of arguments about that.
“After a while I started to get scared.
“She would never lead with physical violence, but I knew from that one incident in Hawaii that she wasn’t afraid to go there.”
Rosa also began to alienate Eric from his circle of loved ones. He says: “To make her happy I pulled away from friends and family. I wasn’t talking to my grandmother, or my folks.”
Eric was delighted when Rosa agreed to marry him, and they wed in April 2005, just over a year after they got engaged[/caption]
‘I felt like a failure’
A few months after they got married, Rosa got pregnant, and their daughter was born June 2006.
At this point Eric worked two jobs to provide for his family but their fights started to escalate and Rosa began to threaten divorce.
Eric says: “It was tough because I really did want this to work out… I really wanted to make her happy.
“For a while I felt like a failure.”
In the rare moments Eric was home between work, Rosa regularly wasn’t, opting to spend more time at her parent’s.
Eric says: “It was getting lonely. It was hard not being able to spend much time with my daughter. I was starting to suffer with mental health issues, heavy depression.”
‘She kicked me out’
In March 2007, Rosa and Eric separated. Eric says: “She just kicked me out. At this point Rosa had complete control over all of our assets.
“She had the house. She had the kid. She had the bank accounts. I had nowhere to go.
“Luckily for me my grandmother was kind enough to take me in.”
Three months later, Rosa wasn’t letting Eric see his daughter – and he knew he had to take action.
He says: “I asked if I could visit on her first birthday. Rosa just flat out refused. That’s when I got angry.
“I decided at that point that I would sue for custody.
“Of course, it got ugly. Rosa sent an email to my job stating I was off my medication and that I was going to shoot the place up.
“My office suspended me. I’d never owned a gun or violated the medicine protocol my doctor put me on.”
Eric has recounted his experiences in new Netflix documentary, Worst Ex Ever[/caption]
Missed milestones
After the claim was investigated Eric was cleared, and granted 50 per cent custody in court.
Eric says: “I was really excited but when I finally saw my daughter it was a shock because when I saw her the last time she was a tiny baby.
“I missed the first steps, those kind of milestones – and that hurt.”
A few months later, Rosa called the police and alleged Eric was sexually abusing their daughter – which was later proved to be a lie.
Eric says: “I was constantly in a state of fear. Any minute I could lose my job, never see my daughter again, possibly lose my freedom if they believed her.
“I was really shocked she went that far.”
Deputy District attorney Casey Bates says: “The allegation was completely fabricated and that, ironically for Rosa, resulted in the courts stripping her custody rights.”
Worst Ex Ever - A closer look
The new true crime series Worst Ex Ever documents four instances of relationships gone extremely wrong, featuring interviews with survivors, victims’ families and investigators...
Episode 1: One night Angie receives a distressing call from her friend Justine. When Angie shows up to Justine’s house, she comes across a terrible discovery that leads to a statewide police hunt for Justine’s boyfriend of two months, a dangerous man named Benjamin Foster.
Episode 2: Seemona, a financial adviser and small-business owner, lives a busy life in Queens, New York. Despite working long days, she manages to meet a police officer named Jerry Ramrattan, and the two hit it off. But after two years together, Seemona gets a shocking call alleging Jerry isn’t who he says he is. When she confronts him, he turns violent, then launches a years-long campaign of torment.
Episode 3: Despite her seemingly shy nature, Rosa Hill quickly bonds with Eric during a group hike in Alameda, California, and the two eventually get married. As their relationship deteriorates amid Rosa’s control issues, Rosa and her mother, Mei Li, enact a bizarre scheme to gain sole custody of Eric and Rosa’s child, putting his family in grave danger.
Episode 4: When Amanda met Kevin Lewis she found his efforts to woo her both bold and charming. Years into their relationship, after Kevin’s emotional abuse becomes violent, Amanda asks for a divorce. But when Kevin’s continued behaviour causes him to lose custody of their three children, his rage turns deadly.
‘I could hear her screaming daddy’
The situation finally crescendoed on January 7, 2009.
Sally’s boyfriend Lester called at 4pm, and she didn’t answer the phone – which was highly unusual, so he sent his son Jeff and his wife to check on her.
Arriving home and seeing them outside, Eric says: “I kind of had a bad feeling.
“I was worried something might have happened to her – a stroke or heart attack.”
Eric and his two-year-old daughter went upstairs to look for Sally, and that’s when he heard a noise behind him and saw Mei.
He says: “I was shocked. She said my grandmother had called her.
“As I ran out, Rosa jumped out from the baby’s room wearing a black trench coat, and then she shot me with a taser gun.
“I felt a sharp pain on the back of my head. Mei hit me with a baton. I went down.
“Rosa was kicking me and Mei was hitting me with the baton and I was seeing all this blood dripping down on the carpet.
“I started to fight back.
“Rosa came out with the gun and put the gun in my chest and ordered me to stop so I stopped fighting.
“My daughter, she was locked in a dark bathroom and I could hear her screaming ‘daddy, daddy, daddy!'”
Rosa was very close to her mother Mei, who worked with Eric and introduced him to her daughter[/caption]
‘Please don’t kill me’
Meanwhile Jeff and his wife ran next door and called police.
Former officer Jared Hattaway was one of the first on the scene.
He says: “There was a male voice that screamed ‘please don’t kill me, I don’t want to die’.
“We reach the top of the stairs. There was blood spatter. There were tasers, bullets, a baton, strewn about the entire hallway.”
Former detective Yesenia Sanchez adds: “When we first got the scene Eric was in the back of the patrol car. His eyes were wild, he was sweating. He was in disarray.
“It was much more sinister than we initially anticipated.”
‘We knew she was being deceptive’
In questioning, Rosa claimed Eric went berserk and threatened them.
But she was the one found with a gun in her possession, and she was the one in a house that didn’t belong to her.
Yesenia Sanchez says: “We knew she was being deceptive. She was dancing around our questions, answering them in different ways.”
It was then police made a grisly discovery. In a locked shed in the back garden they located Sally’s body wrapped in bed sheets stuffed in a dustbin.
HOW YOU CAN GET HELP:
Women's Aid has this advice for victims and their families:
Always keep your phone nearby.
Get in touch with charities for help, including the Women’s Aid live chat helpline and services such as SupportLine.
If you are in danger, call 999.
Familiarise yourself with the Silent Solution, reporting abuse without speaking down the phone, instead dialing “55”.
Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare.
If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone.
Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space.
If you are a victim of domestic abuse, SupportLine is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm on 01708 765200. The charity’s email support service is open weekdays and weekends during the crisis – messageinfo@supportline.org.uk.
Women’s Aid provides a live chat service – available weekdays from 8am-6pm and weekends 10am-6pm.
You can also call the freephone 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.
‘How to murder’ Google search
Two days later an autopsy revealed Sally’s cause of death as strangulation. She had wounds on her hands which revealed she’d tried to fight, and lacerations on her body.
Police discovered Rosa’s car near to the scene, which had a samurai sword and leg irons in it, and in their home they found notes and a ‘revenge’ hit list planning out the crime.
It was revealed on one of their computer’s they’d also googled ‘how to murder’, and Rosa was also stalking Eric and taking notes on his whereabouts.
Yesenia Sanchez says: “Every piece of evidence built a stronger case against her.”
‘Operation custody’
Details of the mother and daughter’s wicked plan began to emerge and having lost her child to Eric, Rosa and her mother were plotting ‘Operation Custody’.
Deputy District attorney Casey Bates says: “The plan was to murder Eric’s grandmother and blame the murder on Eric, and to get Eric to write a confession to say he killed her because she had confronted him with the sexual abuse of his child.
“And that he became enraged and killed her and put her in the garbage can in the back of the home.
“Their plan continued that in that moment of despair, Eric Hill would kill himself… and she was rightfully reunited with her child.”
Mei Li and Rosa Hill were both sentenced to serve life in prison[/caption]
‘Very lucky to be alive today’
On June 28, 2011, Rosa Hill was found guilty of the murder of Selma ‘Sally’ Hill and attempted murder of Eric, and sentenced to 25 years to life
Mei was convicted of premeditated, attempted murder and is now also serving life.
While devastated over the death of his grandmother, Eric is grateful their evil plan didn’t go how they had hoped, adding: “I am very lucky to be alive today.
“If they had gotten away with it, my daughter would never know who I was.”

5 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on Woman reveals the simple way she found out her man was cheating – and she didn’t even have to sneak through his phone
A WOMAN has urged people to “trust their intuitions” after she used hers to discover her man’s infidelity.
Ke Ke explained that she was at her boyfriend’s house after flying in long distance, and saw he’d left a load of receipts on the countertop.
She had found a load of receipts on his counter top which showed that he had been out drinking and dining with someone else[/caption]
She added that “something told” her to go through the receipts, and it turned out she had reason to be suspicious.
Holding up the first receipt, she showed that it said he had ordered two drinks, followed by another two.
The next receipt was for the same day, as she sighed: “Oh, he just made a f**king day of it.”
That bill said that he had eaten two appetisers and two dinners, but she was still giving him the benefit of the doubt at that point, thinking he may have just been “hungry”.
But then she noticed that on the receipt, it was listed that it had been a “party of two”.
“So I’m like, you know what? I’m already here, I might as well just go through the rest of them,” Ke Ke added in the TikTok video.
The next receipt also showed two different meals, and a party of two.
She went on to rage that he’d been as obvious as to leave the receipts on the counter, as she said: ” When you think you’re looking for s**t, you think you’re gonna look through their phone or their social media.
“But I was here. I’ve been here all weekend. It’s been on the counter this whole time.
“Right here just in my face chillin.”
“If you think something is off, it is,” Ke Ke captioned the video.
And people in the comments section were quick to weigh in on Ke Ke’s warning, with one writing: “In Germany we say, ‘where there is smoke, there is fire’.
“Trust your instinct, girls. It’s always on point.”
“Trust your intuition,” another added.
“My ex went to the bathroom this one time and I was going to pick his phone up and go through the notifications and I put it down thinking why am I doing this.
“I grabbed it again because I got a weird feeling in my stomach and so I did and found messages at 12 am with a girl he was texting.”
Four red flags your partner is cheating
Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.
They start to take their phone everywhere with them
In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.
Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”
“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”
They start telling you less about their day
When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.
“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”
“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.
Their libido changes
Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.
Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”
They become negative towards you
Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.
“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.
“Literal receipts!” a third wrote.
“No man is choosing to drink two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc on his own,” someone else said.
“It’s like he wants to get caught,” another commented.
To which Ke Ke replied: “Men never want to get caught.
“Give up their cake while they can eat it too? No. They’re just stupid lol!”
“He gotta goooo.” someone else insisted.
As Ke Ke siad: “And he did!”
“You are a true beauty. Heartbreaking,” another wrote.
“I trained my ex to hide stuff soooo well, cuz I would find eeeevveerythiiing… don’t miss that at all,” someone else said.
With Ke Ke replying: “I don’t even look for stuff anymore bc I don’t have the energy.
“Now the universe literally hands it to me.”
“I found a guy was cheating on me when I swept his floor and found red hair,” another wrote.
5 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on My neighbours are so nosey & are always peeping through the cracks in my fence – now a £6 Temu buy has given me privacy
A WOMAN has revealed that her neighbours are always peeping through the cracks in her fence, so she decided to give it a mega makeover.
So if your fence could do with a transformation, then you’ve come to the right place.
The content creator explained that when she exercises in her garden, she will often spot her neighbours taking a cheeky look.
However, the mother shared that to put a stop to the nosey onlookers, she nabbed some artificial leaf sheets, turning her once dull fence into a stunning oasis.
Posting on social media, the young woman shared a before and after look at her fence, leaving many open-mouthed.
She shared the video with the caption ‘Keep those peeping toms at bay with our rollable artificial leaf fence! Transform your backyard into a leafy oasis and enjoy some privacy!’
The woman then explained: “As you know, my neighbours are nosey as hell.
“Every time I’m doing my yoga and my squats back here, they’re always peeping through the cracks.
“So I thought I might as well go ahead and buy these leaves and put a bunch of them on the fence and that way they can’t see my booty.”
The influencer gave her followers a close-up look at her slatted fence, which was in need of some TLC.
She then used a cordless screwdriver to nail in the artificial leaf sheets, covering her fence.
To complete the DIY privacy screen, she added lights, to really make the space pop.
Whilst the woman didn’t confirm where she nabbed her artificial leaf cover from, you can order artificial ivy privacy wall screens online from Temu for as little as £6.
Thanks to the greenery, the mother not only now has privacy in her back garden, but also style too.
What are your rights over a fence row?
IT'S very important to know your rights if you are embroiled in a fence row with a neighbour.
How do I know which side I own?
A boundary feature can be a fence, wall, hedge, ditch, piece of wire, or sometimes even just the edge of a driveway.
The only way to know for certain who owns what side and to avoid any neighbour disputes, is to refer to the title plan or Land Registry.
In this, the T mark is used to indicate who the boundary belongs to and therefore who is responsible for its upkeep, say pros at Jacksons Fencing.
Larger developments tend to have some indication provided by the builder, but there are no hard and fast rules
People often think they are responsible for the left (or right) hand boundary wherever they live, but there isn’t any legal basis for this.
You can check with HM Land Registry to see which boundary feature you are responsible for.
Often households can’t get hold of the paperwork but experts say they shouldn’t panic.
Homeowners can guess who owns the fence by checking where the rails are.
Pros say: “The fence is typically facing away from their property so that their neighbour gets the ‘good’ side.
“This is the most secure way of facing fencing so there are no rails for anyone to use to climb into your garden.
“This is then repeated with the neighbour on the other side to ensure that each home has both a ‘good’ and ‘bad’ fence side.”
Walls and fences are often built on the land of the boundary’s owner with the edge of the wall marking the limit.
While professionals agree a glimpse at the fence can give you a hint, it’s not foolproof – so you can’t be certain.
Fines and punishment
It is recommended to always check legal documents before making changes to avoid hefty fines.
There is no law that the neighbour has to get the good side of the fence, so it’s completely up to whoever owns the fence.
Fencing pros have suggested: “It may be worth selecting a double-sided panel with no ‘bad’ side as both sides look the same and rails are concealed within the fence panel.”
If one boundary backs onto a road or footpath you can install the panels with the rails on the inside
But if it’s installed on the outside, it can provide an “easy ladder for burglars to enter your garden”.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Property Litigation Association have created a mediation service to help neighbours resolve disputes over their property boundaries without resorting to court action.
RICS also provides a list of surveyors who could assist in boundary disputes.
If a dispute continues, it is ultimately a court that makes decisions, but they do not like such disputes being put before them.
Changing a boundary
If you want to change an existing boundary, such as replacing an old fence with a new one, we always recommend discussing with your neighbour first and making sure it is all agreed.
The registered titles can help you to reach an agreement, but only if this information has been added.
In terms of decorations on a fence legal advisers recommended asking around over who actually first installed it.
But they also urged caution before getting to work on amending the fence without getting more certainty yourself – since there is a danger of actually being prosecuted for criminal damage.
How high can a garden fence be?
The height of the fence is measured from your ground level, this can have an impact when, due to slopes in the ground, your garden may be at a higher level than your neighbours‘.
A garden fence can be as high as 100m but you need to get planning permission if it’s over than 2m.
However, there are some complications to this.
If you are thinking about front garden fences, restrictions state that fences alongside a driveway can be a maximum of 1m or 3ft.
You would need to get planning permission for putting a trellis on a fence of 2m.
But, if any plant that you grow on that trellis exceeds 2m, you do not need to obtain a permit for the growing plant.
As a result of her DIY project, her fence has been transformed from drab to fab, without breaking the bank.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @therizeffect, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 106,100 views.
How high can a garden fence be?
Despite what many people think a garden fence can be as high as 100m but you need to get planning permission for any fence taller than 2m.

Taking just 1h50, the waterpark is less than 30 minute by car from Prague.
Experts have revealed some of their top advice for both adults and kids heading to the water this summer:
How to stay safe at the beach
Gareth Morrison, Head of Water Safety at the RNLI said: “If you find yourself being swept out to sea in a rip, try to relax and float until you are free from the rip and you can then swim to safety.
“If you see someone else in danger, alert a lifeguard or call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.”

Tiny Hearts Education, former paramedic and CEO Nikki Jurcutz said: “Always put your little one in bright or contrasting colours that would be easy to find in an emergency.
“It only takes 20 seconds to drown, little tips like this could save a life”.
An Auqabliss spokesperson added: “Swimming toys such as noodles, dive rings, floaties and beach balls can be dangerous if left in the pool.
“Children may try to grab these from the pool’s edge and fall in.”
How to stay safe at a waterpark
Ali Beckman, Puddle Ducks Technical Director, said: “Never send a child down the slide on their own, not only are they going to be entering the slide pool area independently, they then have to exit the pool and wait for an adult.
“And wave pools should be avoided until your child is really confident with water going over their faces and you know they are able to regain their feet independently.
“Waterparks are often very busy places and it’s easy to lose sight of a child in a split second.”
5 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on I took my council kitchen from drab to fab on the cheap – a £10 Amazon bargain made a huge difference
TRANSFORMING your home on a budget isn’t always easy, but this woman took her drab council house kitchen and made it totally unrecognisable.
Sadie Glover’s kitchen had definitely seen better days before she got to work updating it.
The kitchen definitely got worse before it got better[/caption]
Small details made all the difference in the kitchen[/caption]
With faded paint, old worktops and no colour, she had her work cut out.
But that didn’t stop her from creating the kitchen of my dreams, and she took to the popular Facebook group DIY on a budget to share the impressive before and after snaps, leaving people stunned.
Alongside the pictures she wrote: “My budget council kitchen makeover.
“I really wanted a sage kitchen but chickened out and went for off white instead.”
Sadie revealed she spent £25 on some MDF, which she had cut down at her local hardware shop, as well as £25 on some rust oleum cupboard paint in the shade antique white.
Timeless by Dulux was used on the wall, which was another £30, but it was the cabinet handles from Amazon that were the real bargain at just a tenner.
“It’s no we’re near perfect and so many imperfections, things I’d do differently if I were to do it again but I’m really happy with how it turned out,” Sadie said,
“It feels so much more cosy now,” she added.
Fellow DIY fans were equally as impressed by the transformation, as one commented on the post: “It looks amazing.”
Another chimed in: “Looks great!! I did something similar. Love the shelves, I am looking for something similar.”
“Wow, looks lovely, well done you,” someone else said.
The new cabinet hands gave the kitchen a much more modern feel, while the fresh lick of paint worked wonders for brightening the space up.
Meanwhile, the strip of LED lights under the cabinets gave the kitchen a luxurious feel without the hefty price tag.
She also added some baskets on top of the cupboards for extra storage, plus a few plants for a dash of colours.
“It looks like a whole new kitchen,” one person commented on the post.
And another agreed: “You’ve made it a home.”
Now the space us totally unrecognisable[/caption]
Budget DIY tips
Take the process slowly
As is the case in many areas of life, slow and steady wins the race when it comes to decorating your home.
We have all been in the process of decorating and decided to drive ahead with a couch or décor piece that we aren’t sure we love, only to regret it when we happen upon the couch of our dreams later on down the line.
While it is awfully tempting to try and get your dream home decorated as soon as possible, taking the process slowly and carefully can also help you save money on our decor.
This will allow you to make decisions carefully, avoiding impulse decisions and purchases.
Plus, this will help make sure that each and every item in your home is something you love!
Make a plan for your decor
A great tip for anything that you want to save money on is to make a plan.
It is quite easy to get distracted by flashy candle sticks or interesting art when you’re looking to buy decor for your home.
However, you can avoid unnecessary distractions or purchases by creating a plan for the items you are looking to buy when you go home decor shopping.
We recommend creating a detailed plan for the decor you want so that you have a specific, curated plan for your home.
A great tip is to create home inspiration boards for each room you are decorating so you can centre your attention on the items you need to bring your inspiration to life.
Upcycle items you already have
Before we buy something new, one way to save would be to repurpose or upcycle old items you already have.
Upcycling or repurposing can give items you already own a new life.
It can also make them feel like a new item for a fraction of the price.
Some easy ways to upcycle could be as simple as painting furniture or décor items you have to match a new colour scheme.
A great way to repurpose items is to use items like old dust-bins as plant pots.
Get rid of items you don’t use
Although it may seem counterintuitive to save money to get rid of items you own, an essential step to creating the home of your dreams is to get rid of items that don’t fit into your dream.
However, this step is also a great way to make some money, which you can then add to your home décor budget.
You can sell the items that you don’t need any more online or in person at some of the pre-owned marketplaces we mentioned earlier in the article.
