‘This sounds like a name for a dog’ people cry as woman shares fruity moniker she has chosen for a baby girl
A WOMAN has caused a stir online with her baby name suggestion.
Posted in the Facebook group ‘That name isn’t a tragedeigh, it’s a murghdyrr’, hundreds of people shared their thoughts.
The top comment said: “I’m a dog groomer. And this sounds like a name for a dog.”
As for the name in question, it’s inspired by a fruit.
You’ve heard of Clementine – it’s quite a popular, old fashioned moniker, and there are celebs called Peaches or famous kids called Apple.
But have you ever heard of someone called Tangerine?
The post read: “Fun middle names to come after Tangerine?
“Stole the idea for this post but Tangerine has been my dream name for a girl for years but like nothing I come up with works.
“And I love a lil spooky vibe,” the woman explained.
The most recurring comments were those referencing animals.
One said: “Ok this would be an ADORABLE name for an orange cat.”
Someone else added: “This was my childhood cats name.”
And a third chimed: “My dogs name is Tangerine…”
But perhaps it’s just an uncommon name?
A couple of people commented: “Knew a Tangerine. Went by Tangie. She never forgave her dipshit parents. Tragique.”
Another said: “I worked with a Tangerine, she went by Tange. Her sister was Quintina.”
There were several people who were vehemently against the name suggestion Tangerine.
One wrote: “That’s the name for a pet, not a human, who will some day be an adult in an adult profession.”
My name is definitely not boring. I like to think it gives me an air of mystery.
Peaches Geldof
But someone questioned: “I do get confused as to why Clementine is OK with everyone but not Tangerine?”
Lots of people, however, suggested some hilarious middle names that both fit the ‘spooky vibe’ the woman wanted, and compliment Tangerine as a first name.
“Killa. If it’s gonna be stupid, make it also kinda badass. Tangerine Killa,” one person remarked.
A second suggested: “Tangerine Scream.”
Someone else offered: “Tangerine Tombstone.”
Do you think Tangerine is a suitable first name?

Dog expert reveals why not all pooches ‘are best’ pets and urges owners to avoid a common mistake
A DOG expert has revealed a common mistake he often sees when it comes to owners training their pets.
Will Atherton, a specialist in dog behaviour, is dedicated to informing the public about the critical need to select the appropriate breed.
His efforts have rescued countless dogs from shelters and spared them from euthanasia.
At 33, he advocates for thorough research by anyone considering dog ownership before choosing a breed.
He underscores the necessity of ensuring you can properly care for the dog you decide to adopt.
However, he has observed that many busy families in the UK often make a mistake when it comes to expectations of certain breeds.
He shared a video on his TikTok page @iamwillatherton, which has over 907,0000 followers, revealing his dog training advice.
Will says: “Not all dogs can be the most perfect dogs in the world and my two personal dogs are good examples.
“Uncle Sully, my labrador is my role model dog.
“I use him in all the extreme modification cases that I have because of his personality.
“His temperament, his characteristics and his genetics fit what I need from him perfectly.”
However, he explains that if he tried to “force” his other dog Puppy, a bred mastiff cross mix, her “genetics, temperament, characteristics, wouldn’t make her a good fit.”
Will continues: “Then I would be constantly frustrated with her.
“However, I honour who she is and what her genetics, characteristics are, which is that of a large powerful game, Bred Mastiff cross mix.
“That makes her the perfect fit for me in terms of a family guard dog.
“But if you can understand who your dog is, train them accordingly and then have realistic expectations of them.
Packed with action
“You’ll be happier and they will be happier for it.”
He continues to write in the caption of his video: “Honour your dog people.
“Don’t make excuses for bad behaviour, but understand what you have and work with it where possible, and always have realistic expectations of what they can achieve, and what you’re capable of teaching them.
“You’ll be surprised how much happier you’ll both be.”
People hear that Border Collies are the smartest and most trainable dogs in the world
Will Atherton, 33
Will also previously revealed to Fabulous one breed that busy families often regret getting. The Border Collie.
“Border Collies are incredibly capable and excel in tasks such as herding sheep,” Will shared. “They are a joy to watch in action.”
However, he pointed out a common misconception: “People hear that Border Collies are the smartest and most trainable dogs in the world.
“But they interpret ‘most trainable’ as ‘easy to train,’ which is not the case.”
Is it true dogs look like their owners?
According to research by Michael Roy at the University of California, San Diego, dog owners tend to go for dogs who have similar features to them.
The psychologist put his idea to the test by going to three nearby dog parks, he photographed the pooches and the owners separately, and then asked a group of participants to try to match them up. Despite no additional cues, he found that they were able to work out who lived with whom with reasonable accuracy.
And the test has been repeated many times since with the same results.
According to the research, owners with long hair tend to go for dogs with long, droopy ears and even go for similar eye shapes.
Border Collies have exceptionally high energy levels and require more physical and mental stimulation than the average family can provide.
Without adequate enrichment, they can become bored and develop behavioural issues such as excessive barking, digging, or destructive chewing.
“Families try to integrate a dog bred for hours of work each day into a busy family life,” Will explained.
“I’ve encountered many bored and destructive Border Collies. They often herd children, which is a behaviour I frequently address.”
Loving and loyal
Given their herding instincts, Border Collies can exhibit behaviours like chasing, nipping at heels, or herding family members when confined to a home environment.
Will has even dealt with cases where frustrated Border Collies have tugged at children’s clothing.
Border Collies need ample space to run and play, making them unsuitable for small homes without access to large outdoor areas.
While they can be loving and loyal companions for the right families, Will urged potential owners to carefully consider whether they can meet the breed’s unique needs in terms of time, attention, and resources.

How to bag a bargain
SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…
Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.
Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.
Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.
Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.
Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.
When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.
Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.
Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.
And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
There are multiple ways to save money on your next trip to Lidl .
Lidl offers Waste Not boxes come with around five kilos of fruit and vegetables inside for only £1.50.
These super saver boxes can be picked up from your local branch, which you can find by using the retailer’s store locator tool.
The only catch is that the fruit and veg is a little damaged, discoloured or deteriorated, although it’s still perfectly fine to eat.
It might look a little different to the fruit and veg on the aisles but they’ll taste the same and the price is delicious too.
Yellow sticker bargains are another way to bag yourself perfectly good products at a discount.
The retailer adds these labels to items when they are coming to the end of their shelf life, or if they’re slightly damaged.
Lidl often reduces items twice during the day.
Keep your eyes peeled for the yellow stickers in the morning and once again at the end of the day.

ASDA’S billionaire owner is locked in a bitter war with his neighbours over raw sewage leaking onto his vast estate.
Fuming Manjit Dale, 59, splashed out millions on the sprawling stately home in Lechdale, Gloucestershire.
Fuming Manjit Dale (pictured), 59, splashed out millions on the sprawling stately home in Lechdale[/caption] The supermarket tycoon claims his stunning countryside idyll is being wrecked by a ‘stinking state of affairs’ (file image)[/caption] The tycoon is fuming over the destruction of his home in affluent Lechdale (pictured)[/caption]But the supermarket tycoon claims his stunning countryside idyll is being wrecked by a “stinking state of affairs”.
The former investment banker blames a crumbling septic tank for the row – and says his neighbour is “legally responsible”.
He says up to 2,000 litres of untreated sewage is currently being discharged onto a field on his land every day.
Now, after fighting a 12-year battle to get it fixed, one of Britain’s wealthiest men is launching legal action in London’s High Court.
He accuses neighbour Brian Abdy-Collins of turning their lives into a pungent nightmare – and says the value of his home has sunk as a result.
In court documents obtained by Sun Online his lawyers write: “The walls of the three chambers within the septic tank have collapsed.
“Untreated sewage and effluent from the estate drainage system has been, and continues to be, continually discharged.
“It has also been, and continues to be, observed beyond the field, flowing towards the lake on the property.
“The untreated sewage and effluent has resulted in strong and unpleasant sewage odours which have adversely affected the property.
“All in all, the estate drainage system in its current condition is manifestly not fit for purpose.
“It has resulted in a polluted, harmful and stinking state of affairs…and continues to give rise to a nuisance.”
Dale, who is worth over £6billion and appears on the Sunday Times rich-list, claims he spent over £600,000 trying to fix the issue himself.
He now wants his money back and has ordered Mr Abdy-Collins to pay damages.
His lawyers add: “Over many years the Claimant has notified and complained to the Defendant about the matters.
“He has notified the Defendant of his responsibilities, and has repeatedly called on him to address and remedy the issues.
“Despite this the Defendant has prevaricated and has failed and declined to take any (or any sufficient and effective) action in that regard.”
They add: “The Claimant has suffered, and continues to suffer, loss, damage, inconvenience and distress.”
The court documents detail how the estate drainage system serves 18 houses in the village.
Mr Dale’s public battle is a significant departure for the famously private businessman.
He bought the home in 2010 as his private equity firm, TDR Capital, soared and had a tennis court built on the site of an orchard in the grounds.
It was covered with the same blue hard court surface used in the US Open.
TDR now owns 15 businesses, including David Lloyd and Slug & Lettuce owner Stonegate, and collectively employs about 200,000 people in the UK.
A team of 85 professionals now manage more than £13 billion of assets.
But it was the £6.8billion purchase of Asda in 2021 that brought TDR out of the shadows.
The bulk of the purchase was financed by issuing almost £4 billion of debt.
Asda’s new owners then raised £1.7 billion selling and leasing back its warehouses.
But they are far from done – and now have Boots, the UK’s largest pharmacy chain, firmly in their sights.
What are my rights?
ACCORDING to Citizens Advice, if a neighbour’s septic tank is leaking and causing problems, what you can do depends on what effect the leak is having.
If the tank is causing problems on land, such as creating a damp patch of ground that has an offensive smell, or affecting your neighbour’s water supply, then you can contact the Environmental Health Department of your local council.
Councils have powers to serve notices, requiring owners to carry out works to stop the problem.
If owners don’t do the work then they could be committing a criminal offence.
If your local council won’t take steps against the owner of the septic tank, you could take civil legal action against the owner yourself.
You should then seek legal advice.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez look tense as they reunite for the first time since split and spark wedding ring riddle

The duo announced they were filing for divorce last month – exactly two years after they tied the knot.

Yet travelling for their swanky lunch in the same vehicle, they looked stoney-faced, with Jennifer seen wiping something from her eye.
Ben, wearing a bright blue shirt, appeared stern as he sat behind the wheel, with his ex staring at him.
As they arrived at the A-List hotel, they stayed close as they followed each other through the door with their brood.
Jennifer, wearing a black cropped roll-neck jumper and flared jeans, was marshalling the group at the back of the pack.
She pulled on a pair of sunglasses and threw a large handbag over her shoulder as she stepped out on the understandably difficult day.
Yet her main accessory – which sent fans into a spiral of confusion – centred on the fact she was still wearing her wedding ring.
The diamond band could clearly be seen as she strolled with her hands outside of her pockets.
The family outing came came after chart star Jennifer was seen donning a “revenge dress” to promote the recent movie she made with Ben.
