Prince Harry has always felt inadequate compared to William – there were signs even when he was tiny

PRINCE Harry has always felt inadequate compared to William, even from a young age, a royal pro has claimed.

Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine and Royal Biographer, Ingrid Seward, said that the late Princess Diana ‘worried’ about the Duke, 40, and ‘wasn’t sure which way he was going to go.’

Ingrid told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that Diana would ‘hate’ that Harry has fallen out with Prince William, 42, even though he used to ‘bully’ his younger brother as a child.

Speaking to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, the royal expert explained: “[Diana] was very concerned about [Harry’s] feeling of inadequacy with William.

“Even when they were very little, when Harry went to Miss Minors, which was the baby school, after William had been there, the teacher there said to him ‘here Harry, play with this clay, William used to be really good at making model figures’.

“Harry threw it down and said ‘no!’, so from a very young age, Harry felt inadequate.

“It was nothing to do with Diana, nothing to do with Charles, but it was just there.”

Ingrid suggested that this feeling of inadequacy may have arisen from behaviour of royal nannies.

She continued: “Maybe it was to do with the nannies, I’m not talking about Barbara Barnes who was completely brilliant, but sometimes the nanny will focus on the more important child, it’s just a matter of what happens. It happened when Charles was young, and Prince Philip actually fired the nanny.

“It could’ve been that but he was always very conscious of being second in command.”

The Royal Biographer claimed that Diana was ‘worried’ for Harry and ‘conscious’ of his sensitivity.

She added: “I think she worried much more for Harry because she just wasn’t sure which way he was going to go.

“When William was a little boy, he would bully him quite a lot, which was perfectly normal, and Harry would always take the blame for the scrapes they’d get into. Again, perfectly normal for young boys.

“But Diana was very conscious of Harry being a very sensitive child and she wondered what he was going to do, was he going to follow his love, which was the army, even as a little boy.

A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.

Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.

Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.

In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.

In May he visited the UK for a three-day visit without seeing King Charles or Prince William.

“It was planted very, very young, that seed of William having the privilege. And Harry of course didn’t really understand. In a way it’s better to be the spare than the heir.”

After stepping down as working royals and leaving the UK in 2020, Harry, who is based in California with wife Meghan Markle, 43, and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, now live in their sprawling mansion in Montecito, with A-listers including Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow as their neighbours.

[Diana] wouldn’t be at all happy that Harry had fallen out with William

Ingrid Seward

Relations between William and Harry have been strained for years, but their rift became even more apparent when Harry and Meghan spoke out against the Royal Family during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 – where they claimed Kate had made Meghan cry ahead of her 2018 wedding in an argument over bridesmaid dresses.

Harry then made a string of bombshell claims about William in his controversial memoir, Spare, last year, claiming that William had once ‘knocked him to the floor’ in a physical fight and that he had also pointed his finger in Meghan’s face and branded her ‘rude’.

William and Harry are no longer on speaking terms, and it’s thought that they kept their distance when they recently attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in Norfolk

When it comes to Harry’s fall-out with his brother, Ingrid suggested: “What [Diana] wouldn’t like is this fall out from the family. She would really hate that.

“She wouldn’t be at all happy that Harry had fallen out with William. She always said to them ‘please, please remember, don’t ever forget that you’re brothers and I want you to be friends’. That would worry her about Harry.”

Luke Littler in classy gesture to Raymond van Barneveld after being told to ‘f*** off’ by darts rival

LUKE LITTLER showed his class at just 17 years old after beating Raymond van Barneveld in the World Series of Darts on Saturday.

Littler booked his spot in the final eight with a victory over Barney, having previously claimed the Dutchman was his childhood hero.

The teen sensation seems to still hold that sentiment as he raised Van Barneveld‘s hand aloft to elicit an applause from a home crowd in the Netherlands for the experienced pro.

The touching moment came after Littler had won the Amsterdam face-off 6-4.

And it’s an even classier moment when you consider that Van Barneveld had told Littler to “f*** off” in an interview earlier in the year.

The 57-year-old had been left peeved that Littler hadn’t responded to his WhatsApp message after the youngster won the Belgian Darts Open.

Speaking to Sportnieuws.nl, he said: “The other day I walked up to him to shake his hand. Then he took out his earphone for a moment and only said the most necessary thing.

“He told me: ‘Yes, I only respond to text messages. Whatsapp I’m actually not on’.

“Well fine, I sent a text message saying ‘Congratulations with Wieze’, and then nothing. Fine. I’m a bit done with it. The next time I get asked if I want to do something for him, I’ll pass.

“I understand that you get thousands of text messages but of course I’m not just anyone.

“If I’ve been your inspiration for years, I also expect a text message back. Dude’s on his phone all day, f*** off.”

Littler, who took a casual approach to the clash by stopping for a game of Noughts and Crosses during his walk-out, was full of nothing but respect for Van Barneveld after the win.

Speaking immediately afterwards, he said: “You are up against a Dutch guy in Holland, it’s always massive to beat them.

“I’m just overwhelmed to get over the line. The crowd were very good whenever I tried to go ahead. There’s nothing negative to say about them.

“Raymond kept hitting 180, 140, so it put pressure on my finishing. But I’m just glad to take the shots and get over the line.

“It made me step my game up even more. I think I hit a 105 average.

“As soon as I broke Ray’s throw and got two legs ahead, I just thought hold my throw and I’ll win.

“I just say to myself it’s never over until it’s over. I’ve learnt you’ve just got to keep going and don’t show any emotion of being down, fight to the end.”

Littler has now booked himself a spot in the semi-finals after surviving a major wobble in his quarter-final clash against Chris Dobey.

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.

Check out all of our latest Luke Littler stories.

Inside haunting ‘Island of the Devil’ near Greek holiday hotspot left with a single eerie building with a dark past

THE GREEK island of Gyaros, dubbed the “Island of the Devil’, has sat deserted in the Aegean Sea for almost 50 years.

The only mark of human civilisation on its rocky shores is an enormous abandoned prison that used to hold thousands of exiled people.

The island, some 9 square miles big, sits isolated in the Aegan sea and is being touted as a potential new holiday hotspot.

In the early days of the Roman Empire it was used as a place for high-ranking people sent in exile, when they defied their rulers.

It was later used by the Greek Junta – a right-wing military regime – between 1967 and 1974 to punish political rebels.

The government used it for target range with the Hellenic Navy until 2000, but it is off-limits to the public and largely untouched.

The Greek Reporter describes it as a place of “exile and torture”.

Those imprisoned were tortured and made to do forced labour, with some referring to Gyaros as the “island of the devil”.

Now visitors are banned unless part of a sanctioned visit and the island is mostly home to the Mediterranean’s largest population of monk seals.

The eerie red brick prison perched on the cliffs of the island held some 10,000 men in custody between the years of 1948 and 1953.

North of the prison are the ruins of different camps where people would have to sleep year-round on the island.

Once a year, those who used to be imprisoned on Gyaros come to pay tribute to those exiled there for their political views.

Footage filmed there shows the stone relics left behind by the people who used to inhabit it.

Some stand in a cemetery with ancient stone grave markings and headstones.

The waters around the island, not far from Mykonos in the northern Cyclades, are a crystal-clear blue.

Greek authorities are looking at turning it into a tourist destination, a mammoth project involving electricity, water, architecture and all other key infrastructure.

The World Wide Fund for Nature launched a campaign some 10 years ago to prevent trawler fishing and irreversible environmental damage to the island – home to many species of fish.

They said: “Gyaros is a unique place, an island where nature meets history.

“We wanted this island that was a place of exile and death to become an island of life and hope.”

Some Greeks are reluctant to see it turned into a holiday spot given the sensitive history of the island.

Roman senator Silanus, who ruled in 10 AD, was accused of treason and set to be banged up behind bars in the prison on Gyaros.

But because the island was considered “harsh and devoid of human culture”, he was sent instead to the nearby isle of Kythnos.

A Roman poet once described it as a place of exile for “particularly vile criminals” and a place of “claustrophobic imprisonment”.

Many were held there by the Junta because of their role in a political resistance.

Jehovah’s Witnesses were also sent there because of their objections to war.

‘Is this a common phrase?’ – Gary Neville confuses fans after accusing Tottenham star of ‘having frogs in his pants’

GARY NEVILLE left fans baffled by his bizarre turn of phrase on commentary.

The former Manchester United defender, 49, was on the gantry alongside Peter Drury for Sky Sports during the North London Derby.

Tempers had already flared before kick-off in the tunnel with the mascots and then again as Jurrien Timber sparked a mass brawl.

And Tottenham were desperate to get in at half-time goalless and allow things to calm down.

So goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was busy organising his defenders as Spurs prepared to face an Arsenal corner.

But Neville made the most of the opportunity to deliver his strange line.

He said: “Look at Vicario. He’s got frogs in his pants.”

The insinuation being that Vicario was very busy and frantically moving around nervously in the goalmouth.

But why he used “frogs” rather than “ants” left supporters watching the match on TV confused.

One said: “Is ‘frogs in his pants’ a common phrase or is this like mini retirement again from Neville?”

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

That is a reference to Neville’s infamous comment to the Diary of a CEO podcast that he goes on holiday – also known as taking “mini retirements”.

Another viewer wrote: “Cheers Gary.”

A third added: “What does that even mean? Is it a Manchester thing?”

And a fourth typed: “I get that he hasn’t looked particularly composed from set pieces… but Gary Neville saying Vicario looks like he’s ‘got frogs in his pants’ because he’s instructing his defenders where to be… whilst funny… feels harsh! Every goalkeeper commands his defenders pre corners!”

Incredibly, a tweet from May references Neville mentioning “frogs in his pants” again – implying he may well have used the unusual phrase on commentary at the end of last season as well.

Vicario did not organise his defenders well enough at a corner during the second half, though.

He got crowded out in his own six-yard box as Gabriel made a run on Cristian Romero and headed powerfully into the back of the net as Arsenal took the lead.
