Reality stars accused of ‘storming out’ of Emmy Awards after rival show The Traitors bags win

TV stars ‘stormed out’ after The Traitors won the reality award at the Emmys in Los Angeles.

The Peacock series was named the Outstanding Reality Competition Programme – beating RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Voice and Top Chef.

RuPaul’s Drag Race team were accused of walking out after not winning[/caption]

An eagle-eyed journalist in the audience picked up on potential tension between the rival shows during the reveal.

“After the category was announced the team from Drag Race (including all the queens) cleared out and headed to the lobby,” wrote Chris Gardner from The Hollywood Reporter.

He also shared a video of the cast leaving the auditorium.

The show was on fire, as host Alan Cumming was also named Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Programme.

He beat Survivor’s Jeff Probst, Top Chef’s Kristen Kish, RuPaul’s Drag Race’s RuPaul and to the title.

Furious stars have argued the journalist’s claims and said that they needed a toilet and refreshment break.

Drag Race’s Plane Jane said: “It was a commercial break and the girls wanted a drink. We all stayed until the end of the ceremony.”

Amanda Tori Meating agreed: “It was a commercial break are we allowed to go p*** girl”

A fan also commented on the situation: “People are saying they’re rude but CLEARLY, it was a down time, no one was presenting on stage and people were walking out and coming in during this “break time.” So the “clear out” was not rude.”

But some fans are unsure about the drama, with one claiming that the Drag Race stars were “extremely disrespectful”.

“Wow that’s rather rude,” said another.

The big winners of the night were Shogun – with the Disney+ drama landing record-breaking wins.

Shogun scooped an incredible 18 Emmys in total, including for Outstanding Drama Series.

Netflix’s highly acclaimed Baby Reindeer walked away with Best Limited series while its creator and lead star Richard Gadd bagged outstanding writing for a limited or anthology series or movie.

Elsewhere, Prime Video’s Hacks beat off The Bear to win Best Comedy Series, but Christopher Storer did win outstanding directing for a comedy series for The Bear.

Despite ranking in Netflix’s charts and getting a second series, The Gentleman walked away almost empty handed.

The drama, created by Guy Ritchie, did win Outstanding Stunt Coordination For Comedy Programming.

But the British were well represented by The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki as the star walked away with a gong for Outstanding supporting actress in a drama series.

During the ceremony John Oliver launched into a sweary rant after producers tried to rush his winner’s speech.

The Last Week Tonight presenter was paying tribute to his late dog when music began to play to usher him off stage.

Not giving in, John remained on stage to finish his speech and told show bosses ‘f**k you’.

Keir Starmer pledges £4m funding for Italy to help stop small boat migrants – as Channel crossings continue

SIR Keir Starmer will give Italy £4million of taxpayer cash to stop migrants arriving on its shores.

The move seeks to tackle the roots of illegal migration by stopping people from making the perilous journey across the Mediterranean.

There have been 23,241 small boat arrivals since the beginning of the year, with 9,667 since Sir Keir became Prime Minister[/caption]

The PM made the announcement during a press conference with Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome after the two had a working lunch in Villa Doria Pamphili.

Meloni also revealed that Sir Keir was paying “a lot of attention” to Italy’s offshore processing deal with Albania.

A Downing Street spokesman said the cash will go towards the “Rome Process” , an Italian Government’s project, and it will “support vital infrastructure and renewable energy projects” in Africa.

This will help to “reduce the numbers of those who flee their home countries and travel illegally to Europe”.

The spokesman added: “The UK and Italy will also agree to work more closely to tackle illicit financial flows linked to organised immigration crime and increase the sharing of intelligence to disrupt the supply chains used by people smuggling gangs.”

It comes as pressure on Sir Keir to act on his promise to “smash the gangs” is mounting after eight migrants died while trying to cross the Channel on Sunday morning.

On the eve of his visit to Rome, Sir Keir named top cop Martin Hewitt as the boss of the newly-formed Border Security Command, which is tasked with cracking down on criminal networks behind small boat crossings.

Starmer has promised to smash the gangs - pressure is now on to get results

From Martina Bet, Political Correspondent in Rome

Sir Keir Starmer has taken a significant step by engaging with Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni – one of Rishi Sunak’s closest allies on the global stage – to address illegal migration.

Sir Keir flew to Rome for what sources described as a “very long” working lunch with Meloni at the historic Villa Doria Pamphili.

His main focus was to learn how Italy has successfully reduced migrant arrivals by 60 per cent in the past year, a result of key financial deals with North African nations such as Tunisia.

These agreements have been widely praised for reducing crossings, and Italy is optimistic that migrant numbers will drop even further once Meloni’s planned migrant processing center in Albania opens later this year.

Sir Keir has expressed interest in striking similar deals for third-country processing – which is different from the scrapped Rwanda scheme, where even successful asylum seekers would have been stuck in the country.

This approach represents a bold move for the PM, signalling a break from traditional Labour policies and demonstrating his commitment to tackling the complex issue of illegal migration.

However, it also leaves him vulnerable to criticism.

Human rights groups and progressive voices within his party are likely to raise concerns about the ethical implications of outsourcing asylum processing to other nations.

But more importantly, there are only so many times he can promise to “smash the gangs” before the words begin to ring hollow. Voters will want to see concrete action getting concrete results.

And with Channel crossings showing no signs of slowing, the pressure is now on for him to turn the tide.

He and Mr Hewitt – the former chairman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) – are looking to Italy’s impressive 60 per cent drop in illegal migration as a blueprint for Britain’s new strategy.

They visited the National Coordination Centre for Migration in Rome earlier today – where officials from the EU’s border agency Frontex work alongside the Italians to coordinate their response.

In a bid to clamp down on migration, Ms Meloni struck a deal with Albania last year, allowing some asylum-seekers to be shipped off to the Balkan nation for processing.

However, this option is only available to migrants from countries Italy deems “safe.”

The controversial agreement has drawn comparisons to the UK’s now-axed Rwanda plan,

But in the Albania deal, migrants who win asylum won’t be forced to stay there, unlike the Rwanda scheme, where successful applicants would have been stuck in the country.

When asked if he might follow Italy’s lead, Sir Keir hinted at being open to the idea at the weekend, saying: “Let’s see. It’s early days, I’m interested to see how it plays out, like everyone else.”

At the press conference, Meloni said: “We talked about the Italy-Albania agreement, for which the British government is showing a lot of attention.”

Although the Albania deal hasn’t fully kicked in, Italy has also struck financial deals with Tunisia and Libya – major departure points for migrants attempting to reach Europe.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper told the BBC this morning: “There are four different things that the Italians are doing that we’re interested in.

“The first is the work that they are doing around organised immigration crime.

“That’s the work that we are substantially gearing up, where we will be doing a huge technology upgrade as well, and where we want to work with Italy, with Germany, with other European countries, with France as well.

“The second thing they’re doing is they’re working with other countries upstream to prevent people leaving North Africa in the first place…working with Tunisia, we think we should be part of those international co-operations as well.

“The third thing they’re doing is major returns. So they’re speeding up returns for those who don’t have a right to be there. We’ve been doing that through the summer as well, so we’ve had a substantial increase in returns for people who don’t have a right to be in the UK, because the rules need to be respected and enforced.

“The fourth thing they’re doing is the Albania programme, but that hasn’t started yet, so we’ll need to see what that does. It’s very different from the Rwanda partnership that the UK government had, and we’ll have to see how that plays out.”

During the press conference, the PM also confirmed £485 million of investment into UK defence, clean growth and innovation by two major Italian companies – Leonardo, a defence company, and Marcegaglia, a steel manufacturer.

Man Utd icon slams Ten Hag and claims ‘we’re a million miles away from winning title’ and points to ‘worst ever’ stats

MANCHESTER UNITED icon Dwight Yorke has slammed Erik ten Hag and claims “we’re a million miles away from winning the title.”

United have endured another mixed start to a campaign under Dutch boss Ten Hag, with their 3-0 win at Southampton on Saturday ending a run of two straight defeats.

The former striker reckons his old side are nowhere near challenging for the title[/caption]

Grumbling has already started among the fanbase over a clear lack of identity and playing style.

And a supercomputer has predicted that United will emulate last season by finishing a lowly eighth once again.

It now remains to be see if Ten Hag can finally mount a title challenge, with rivals Man City already six points ahead in the table

And one man who feels United are nowhere near top spot is Yorke.

The former strike hit 66 goals in 152 games for the club while winning the Treble in 1999.

He believes Ten Hag is not the right manager to land United’s first title since 2013.

And Yorke also feels that a series of damning stats prove that the Red Devils have a long way to go before challenging for top honours.

He told beIN Sports: “We are a million miles away from winning the Premier League.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

“When talking about the current manager, this was a person to take us forward and we thought after the first season this was the guy.

“What has happened? Yes we have managed to win the FA Cup last season, but where we are doesn’t mean that we’re a good team after winning the cup.

Man Utd ratings vs Southampton as Onana saves a penalty and Rashford finally scores

MARCUS RASHFORD scored his first Premier League goal in 189 days as Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 victory at Southampton.

The Red Devils got back to winning ways after suffering defeats in their last two Prem games, with Matthijs de Ligt notching his first Man Utd goal.

But United had Andre Onana to thank as the keeper kept out Cameron Archer’s penalty at 0-0.

Here’s how SunSport’s Charlie Wyett rated United’s stars…

Andre Onana – 7

Saved the penalty by Cameron Archer, albeit a poor one from the Southampton forward.

But that stop and the stopped rebound proved to be absolutely crucial.

Noussair Mazraouri – 7

Needed treatment after falling awkwardly in the first half but that did not stop him from delivering a solid performance.

Also got forward to good effect before being one of three United defenders to be subbed off.

Matthijs De Ligt – 8

Shaky start defensively but was unmarked to score from Bruno Fernandes cross to calm United’s nerves with the opener.

He was delighted to get his first United goal and dedicated his celebration to his wife’s birthday today.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

Not been in great form so anything was an improvement – although Saints’ attack was toothless.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Suffered an absolute shocker of a first half courtesy of Southampton’s tricky wingers.

Conceded the penalty after bringing down Tyler Dibling but was also constantly exposed throughout the half.

Kobbie Mainoo – 6

United continue to lean far too heavily on such a young player. And this defensive role does not really suit him.

Christian Eriksen – 7

A surprise starter although United’s two goals came from his corners.

The system, though, still does not play to his strengths as he is too deep.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

Cracking corner cross ball from Eriksen who plonked the ball on the head of De Ligt.

Amad Diallo – 7

Looked lively throughout – really encouraging. Teed up Rashford for the second goal.

Joshua Zirkzee – 6

Forced a couple of saves by Aaron Ramsdale but does not look like a 25 goal-a-season striker.

Marcus Rashford – 7

Hopefully the second goal will give him a real confidence boost. Also forced a couple of saves from Aaron Ramsdale.

SUBS

Garnacho (for Rashford 73 mins) 7

Was brutally fouled by Stephens who saw red shortly after coming on. Notched United’s third goal of the game in the final minute.

He struck high into Ramsdale’s high corner after a brilliant ball from Casemiro.

Manuel Ugarte (for Eriksen 73 mins) 6

Harry Maguire (for Mazraouri 74 mins) 6

Jonny Evans (for Martinez 77 mins) 6

“Winning a cup is great, we’ve got to keep the trophy cabinet ticking over.

“But where we are as a football club, the identity in terms of how we play, where we finish, goals conceded, number of goals that we’ve scored is the worst in our history since the Premier League starts in 1992.”

Yorke isn’t the only former United striker to slam Ten Hag this month, with fellow Treble winner Teddy Sheringham laying into the state of the club.

He said: “When you’re finishing eighth in the Premier League, that’s quite clearly not good enough, for Man United.

“Full stop. End of story, for me. You’ve got to change what’s going on.

“When you look at the inconsistency of last season, and that has followed on, without a shadow of the doubt in the first three games of this season… you can see there’s been no change whatsoever.

“Different players, maybe. But still no change in the philosophy, and the way Erik ten Hag wants to play.

“Look, I don’t want to see people getting sacked. It’s not nice to say that people shouldn’t be in certain positions, but he shouldn’t be there. It’s not good enough for Man United.

“They’ve fallen way below the expectancy levels, and to think that it’s alright to finish eighth… it’s just wrong.

“Do I think the manager will be there at the end of the season? No, I don’t. I think he’ll be gone by Christmas.”

Thank God Trump survived ANOTHER huge cock-up by Secret Service – but he knows there’s a silver lining to 2nd gun drama

My instant reaction to news of the latest assassination attempt on President Trump was brief. ‘WTF??!!’ I posted on X.

Those three letters probably summed up what most people felt when they discovered that another lone gunman had got a few hundred yards from the former President and current presidential candidate.

It’s just weeks since Trump was shot. How could this happen again?

The more I learned about what happened in Florida, the more angry I became

How could this have happened again just nine weeks after a bullet grazed Trump’s ear in an attack during a rally that came so perilously close to killing him?

And the more I learned about this latest incident, the more bemused, and angry I became.

Watch Piers’ explosive interviews on his Uncensored YouTube channel here

Everyone knows that Donald Trump loves playing golf most weekends when he’s at his main residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

And everyone also knows that he usually plays at his own Trump International Golf Club.

So, any would-be assassin would have no problem working out when Trump was playing there, because they could just monitor the very public movements of the lengthy presidential motorcade from his nearby home, Mar-a-Lago.

In fact, it’s the most obvious place for a shooter to plan an attack, isn’t it?

For four hours or so, your target is exposed in open air, and golf courses have endless places to hide, from large bushes to big trees and fences.

That’s why I would have assumed that after the catastrophic security failure in July, when that shooter was able to lie on a roof 150 yards from a Trump rally stage, the Secret Service would have made damn sure nobody could get that close to their protectee again.

I was sadly, shockingly wrong.

This new gunman was able to hide behind a chain-link fence on a corner of the course, just 300-500 yards from Trump, armed with a scoped AK-47 assault rifle and a Go-Pro camera to presumably film the shooting, and wait for his prey to arrive minutes later.

Fortunately, a sharp-eyed Secret Service agent, walking one hole ahead of Trump, spotted the suspect’s rifle barrel sticking out and opened fire on him, causing him to flee the scene.

Obviously, great credit should go to that agent for almost certainly saving Trump’s life.

A gunman was laying in wait for Donald Trump[/caption]
EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump is seen golfing at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach one day before NYC grand jury votes to indict him over hush money payments made to former porn star Stormy Daniels. At one point the 76-year-lld former US president seemed concerned about new helicopter flying over his golf club. His new assistant Natalie Harp, who got hired after quitting her hosting role at conservative One America Network, was also seen on the course sitting inside a golf buggy wearing pink. The outing came on Wednesday March 29 - one day ahead of the Manhattan grand jury's bombshell decision which makes him the first ever former president to face criminal charges, which are expected in the coming days. New York prosecutors are also looking to also charge Trump over a $150,000 payment made to a former Playboy model Karen McDougal. McDougal claimed she had a 10-month affair with Trump which began in 2006. Trump's office released a statement on Thursday branding the development a 'hoax'. 29 Mar 2023 Pictured: Donald Trump. Surely the secret service would have secured the golf course where Trump was playing?
The Mega Agency
two pictures of a chain link fence are taped to a board
The killing kit found at the edge of the course

But please spare me the plaudits being lavished more widely on the Secret Service.

The fact this shooter could get that close was another abject security failure of horrifying proportions, and even more inexplicable and disgraceful coming so soon after the last one.

Why wasn’t the whole perimeter of the course being monitored?

The answer is staggering.

At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said Trump would be receiving more security if he was still in office. ‘He’s not the sitting president,’ Bradshaw said. ‘If he was, we would’ve had the entire golf course surrounded. Because he’s not, the security is limited to areas the Secret Service deems possible.’

Have you ever heard anything so dumb?

Trump was already a massive target for assassins from his time as President when he ordered the killing of top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani and ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

That’s before we even factor in the fact that he was recently shot and is the Republican nominee for an election in just seven weeks.

Yet despite all this, the Secret Service apparently didn’t think him wandering around a golf course for hours on end was a potential death trap opportunity for assassins, worthy of the same level of security that part-time President Biden enjoys as he lies on the beach.

The Secret Service has one primary job: to protect American presidents and vice-presidents, past and present.

It is self-evidently failing to do this.

As Eric Trump said on Sunday night: ‘My father is running out of lives.’

Yes, he is.

And I dread to think what would happen to America if Trump ever does get assassinated.

The last Director of the Secret Service was forced to resign after the rally fiasco, and I believe the new Director, Ronald Rowe, must now go too.

As for the political repercussions of this latest assassination attempt, it can only be a massive boost to Trump, as the last one was.

Once again, he showed immense cool in a life-threatening crisis, with witnesses saying his main concern was to make sure others on the course with him at the time were OK, and his biggest emotion, he told Fox News star Sean Hannity, was frustration that he wasn’t able to finish the hole he was playing because he had a birdie putt!

Love him or hate him, Trump has shown balls of steel over these threats to his life, and that won’t be lost on an American public who like their commanders-in-chief to be strong.

The latest incident has also completely supplanted a news cycle that was being dominated by very negative fall-out over his debate loss last week to Democrat rival Kamala Harris.

There were his unsubstantiated and racially incendiary claims that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating neighbours’ pets, his self-harming friendship with far-right conspiracy-theorist loon Laura Loomer (You need WAY better people around you, President Trump…) and his ill-advised decision on Sunday morning, before his golf round, to post the words ‘I hate Taylor Swift!’ on his Truth Social online media platform.

There’s an incredible irony that right when he was enduring the worst week of his presidential race, Trump has been handed an election-winning lifeline by another attempt to take his life.

Tiny English campsite with its own music festival and cider brewery – just 5 minutes from a perfect sandy beach

AN OVER-18S campsite, just a mile from the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, is a “fun and laid-back” spot to stay if you’re exploring Dorset.

Bredy Farm Campsite in Bridport is not your usual campsite.

Every weekend throughout the summer, the farm hosts live music and DJ events, as well as three music festivals[/caption]

There are two places to stay at the farm, separated by the River Bride but connected via a footbridge – The Orchard and Mead Campsites.

The Orchard has trees so is well suited to smaller camper vans and tents, while The Mead is a large meadow, with less trees, so can accommodate larger vehicles and larger groups.

Both sites have plenty of shower and toilet facilities available, and it’s just £16 per adult, per night.

But there are a variety of reasons why campers might want to extend their stay.

Every weekend throughout the summer, the farm hosts live music and DJ events, along with three music festivals.

This year, there was their BeCider Seaside festival, which took place the second May Bank Holiday weekend, Bredy Reunion at the beginning of July, and another BeCider Seaside event during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The festivals showcase local, national and international touring artists from a wide range of genres, from reggae to alternative rock.

The same three festivals will be taking place again next year. Early bird weekend tickets are £95 and include camping.

For the last eight years, Bredy Farm has also been brewing its own cider, Talbot Harris Cider Co.

It’s sold exclusively from The Shed, a bar which is on site at the farm and open every day of the week and on weekends until 2am.

Their craft IPA ‘UNO!’ is also available, and if you really don’t fancy cider or beer there’s a fully stocked bar to choose from.

There’s also a well-established cafe-restaurant on site, The Parlour, offering Italian-influenced food.

Expect coffees, cakes, pizza and pasta, and on Sunday’s, home cooked Sunday roasts.

Hive Beach is less than a 30 minute walk and 5 minute drive from the campsite – a beach with clear water, good for swimming, paddle boarding, and a cafe and pubs nearby.

Other nearby attractions include Furleigh Estate Wines (about a 20 minute drive away), the National Trust‘s Hardy’s Cottage (just over 30 minutes), Bridport’s Palmer Brewery (9 minutes), and the village of Charmouth ( 25 minutes).

Marcus, from East Sussex, who stayed at the campsite in August this year, told The Sun: “My friends and I did a road trip this summer and stayed at Bredy Farm for a night. The live music in the evening was lots of fun, the cider was delicious, as were the pizzas.

“It had really fun, laid-back vibes and all the facilities you could need. It’s in a great location making it the perfect place to stop if you’re travelling along the Jurassic Coast. Would definitely go back.”

You can book to stay at the campsite by visiting the Bredy Farm website.

Three camping tips from an expert

David Scotland owns camping equipment retailer Outdoor World Direct and knows all about how to make a camping trip run smoothly.

When visiting any campsite this summer it’s important to make sure you’re not making simple mistakes that could ruin your holiday.

Check your tent

David recommends putting your tent up a couple of weeks before you’re due to travel to give you enough time to repair or replace any damaged parts.

He told Sun Online Travel: “You’d be surprised how many people turn up with broken tents.”

Test the ground

Picking a good spot to pitch your tent is difficult, with lots of things to consider.

One of those should be the condition of the ground you’re putting your tent on top of, according to David.

He said: “Once you’ve found the perfect spot, test the ground with your pegs before you commit to camping there to make sure the ground is soft enough.”

Don’t nap in your tent

It may seem the perfect place for it, but a nap in a tent could end badly, if it’s done at the wrong time of the day.

David explained: “If the sun’s shining and it’s hot inside your tent – don’t do it!

“One of our friends nodded off in his tent during a heatwave at Glastonbury and ended up at the medical tent with heatstroke.”

Instead, he recommends finding some shade outside or somewhere well ventilated.

Fans love Redknapp’s reaction to Merson saying ‘I’ve got more chance of winning Strictly’ than Tottenham winning trophy

PAUL MERSON believes he has more chance of winning Strictly Come Dancing than Tottenham do of winning a trophy this season, which prompted a hilarious reaction from Jamie Redknapp.

His bold assessment comes after Ange Postecoglou proclaimed that he “always wins” things in his second season at a club.

Merson began his Strictly journey on Saturday evening[/caption]

The Spurs boss faced the music after seeing his side lose 1-0 at home to Arsenal, who were without both Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

In pre-season, the 59-year-old had said he “usually” wins things in his second season, with the last time Spurs won a trophy being back in 2008.

However, defeat to their bitter north London rivals has left them with just one win from four Premier League games.

Postecoglou issued a defiant response following the game when interviewed by Sky Sports, saying: “I’ll correct myself: I don’t usually win things, I always win things in my second year.

“Nothing has changed. I don’t say things I don’t believe in.”

Sky Sport’s punditry panel for the feisty North London derby included ex-Spurs star Redknapp and Arsenal icon Merson, who started his Strictly Come Dancing journey on Saturday night.

Asked about Postecoglou’s comments, the 56-year-old said: “I like Ange, I like him. But I’ve got more chance of winning Strictly [than Ange winning something in his second season].”

Fans couldn’t help but notice Redknapp’s reaction to the comments as he turned away with an almost disgusted face.

Tottenham currently sit 13th in the league table, while they kick off their EFL cup campaign on Wednesday against giant-killing experts Coventry.

Meanwhile, their Europa League campaign starts on September 26.

On the other hand, Arsenal’s win means they have remained unbeaten so far and sit second in the table.

They launch their Champions League campaign on Thursday of this week, while their League Cup starts by hosting Bolton on September 25.

Arsenal ratings vs Spurs as Gabriel is the hero in feisty North London derby

GABRIEL headed in the only goal of the game as a depleted Arsenal snatched all three points in the North London Derby.

Here’s how SunSport’s Lloyd Canfield rated the Gunners players…

DAVID RAYA – 8/10

Commanded his area well, and was a safe pair of hands throughout the game. Another great showing in what has been a spectacular start for the Spanish stopper.

JURRIEN TIMBER – 7

Did well from an attacking perspective, charging down the left hand side on various occasions. Solid defensively too against Spurs’ flying right side of Johnson and Porro.

Some would argue he should’ve been sent off for a challenge on Pedro Porro in the first half, but he escaped despite squaring up to Vicario in the aftermath.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 8

A really good recovery challenge in the first half to deny Dominic Solanke, despite being booked early on.

You can always count on Saliba to put in a solid display, and he didn’t disappoint today with fantastic passing out from the back too.

GABRIEL – 9

A fantastic defensive showing throughout, reinforced with a towering header inside the box to give his side the lead from a set piece (shock).

Has formed an impeccable partnership with Saliba, personified by their heartwarming celebration together after the opener. He’s the man.

BEN WHITE – 6

Gave away the ball in a dangerous position in the first half, with Solanke failing to capitalise and had a tough first half against the quick feet of Heung Min-Son.

Was not able to demonstrate the dangerous right-hand side overlap we saw work so effectively last season, but wasn’t threatened in the second 45.

JORGINHO – 4

Struggled to replace the suspended Declan Rice for this North London derby, whom the Gunners really missed.

A tough task, but didn’t come close to matching Rice’s intensity or ability to drive the ball up the pitch which left Arsenal weak in the forward areas.

THOMAS PARTEY – 5

Struggled in transition with Jorginho alongside him, another player who felt the full force of no Rice and Odegaard.

Not fast enough with or without the ball, and will need to perk his ideas up for City next week.

GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 6

Looked like a bright spark with his running and forward movement, but was let down by his end product or lack thereof.

Worked really really hard throughout, just looks short of confidence in the last actions.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 6

Dropping deeper into more of a midfield role than he’s used to today, it should be noted that he did a job for the team when they needed him.

Not the flying efficiency machine we have seen him be from the bench, but his versatility will be needed this season it seems.

BUKAYO SAKA – 7

Didn’t make the kind of impact on the game we are used to seeing from the brilliant Bukayo Saka, and looked less of a threat without Martin Odegaard to combine with.

Did some really good defensive work nonetheless, and delivered the perfect corner to claim the assist for Gabriel’s opener.

KAI HAVERTZ – 6

A good header in the first half was saved well by Vicario in the spurs net – actually made more clearances (3) than he managed shots on target (2) in the first 45.

Was a handful for the Spurs defence, but largely nullified by the pace and power of Mickey Van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

Fans now think the villain will meet his fate in a blaze at the Minute Mart

The actor plays villain Nish Panesar, who is the ex-husband of Suki Panesar.

But while details over his exit remain unknown, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out how a major stunt could be part of Nish’s demise.

The Sun revealed how a major fire will rip through Walford as part of EastEnders’ 40th anniversary.

And now fans are convinced Nish will die in the blaze, paving the way for the villain’s exit.

Taking to a web forum, one said: “Got to be tied into Nish’s exit. I can see a situation where he locks Suki (or maybe more of the family) in the Minute Mart with him and sets it alight, in an attempt to bring them down with him in a blaze of glory…”

A second wrote: “I’m thinking Vinny, out of despair and being shunned by his dad, sets fire to all three businesses: Minute Mart, Call Centre and the restaurant.

“I think he will choose to save Vinny, die saving Suki and the not worthy of saving will be Ravi. This way he will get his redemption and Ravi will finally realise that he was never a real son for him.”

While a third posted: “I have no idea how the fire happens even if Nish’s involvement is more than obvious but what’s also certain is that the Minute Mart will revert to its green look afterwards.”

Nish terrorised Suki after being released from prison, and was one of the favourites to die on Christmas Day as part of the mystery surrounding which male character would be bumped off.

In the end, while Nish was hit over the head with a bottle by Denise after he attacked Suki in the Vic, it was Keanu Taylor who met his maker at the hands of Linda Carter.

Since then, Nish has been trying to break up Suki and her girlfriend Eve, but has failed to do so.

EastEnders stars who QUIT

MICHELLE Collins has seen her second EastEnders stint boost her bank balance. Yet what stars have quit this year?

The Sun exclusively reported how Michelle, 62, was down to £20,000 in her company accounts when she agreed to a shock back-from-the-dead return to Albert Square last year.

Her character, Cindy Beale, was presumed dead off-camera in 1998.

Yet what about the 2024 exits?

Earlier this summer, loyal soap fans appeared to note how Stevie Mitchell had “quit” the long-running series.

It came after Alan Ford enjoyed just six-months on-screen.

Bobby Beale actor Clay Milner Russell also left this year after five years in Walford.

Fans also feared Martin Fowler actor James Bye would “quit out of boredom” over recent storylines.

Additionally, a host of stars have quit the BBC soap for Hollywood fame.

One of the most successful stars to come from the BBC One soap is Rob Kazinsky.

He played Stacey Slater’s brother Sean Slater from 2006 to 2009, he has starred in Hollywood blockbusters Pacific Rim and Captain Marvel.

Ben Hardy, who quit EastEnders as Bobby Beale almost a decade ago, went on to break Hollywood the following year, when he starred as Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Since then, he has played Roger Taylor in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, and he starred in Michael Bay’s Netflix movie 6 Underground.

Michelle Ryan played Zoe Slater until 2005.

She starred as the lead in short-lived American series Bionic Woman from 2007 to 2008.
