Meet Britain’s ‘poshest neighbours from hell’ who held all-night ‘end of the world’ parties with laser shows

A BRITISH property tycoon, dubbed the “poshest neighbour from hell,” hosted all-night Ibiza-style parties with “thumping” music in his £65million house.

Dad-of-three Giles Mackay infuriated locals with the noisy bashes reportedly held with Serbian socialite Khristina Sysoeva at his Kensington mansion.

The 62-year-old’s life away from the boardroom was often captured in the headlines with the millionaire’s lavish parties at the forefront.

In 2018, he appeared before the City of London magistrates for breaching a noise abatement order during an “end of the world” themed party.

The court heard how his all-night parties had become a sensation for the rich and young Londoners.

Photos from the Mackays’ parties can still be viewed today, showing how one event in 2015 featured a laser light show over the property’s pool.

The millionaire Brit, born in Surrey, was forced to pay £7,402 after pleading guilty to breaching the noise abatement order.

Police had arrived at the property at 4am to find “thumping” music, the court heard.

Mackay offered to pay the fine on the spot at the City of London Magistrates’ Court and was slammed for having a “total disregard for his neighbours”.

He claimed that his “well-organised” party didn’t exceed 50 decibels.

However, district Judge Mike Snow said: “What we know is that sitting in their car with the windows up and engine running 30 metres away, officers could hear the music.”

Furious neighbours had blasted the millionaire over his parties after he was fined.

‘IT’S UNBEARABLE’

One woman, who did not wish to be named, said: “They blast house music, which I can only describe as drug music. It’s unbearable. I have no idea how many he’s had – countless.”

Another said the music sounded like he had “just come back from Ibiza”.

She said: “He has these parties all the time. It’s throbbing music.

“It often starts at 3am or 4am and goes on for hours. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t have speakers in the back garden and on the roof terrace.

“He’s famous for his Halloween parties. The last one lasted all day and all night and didn’t stop until noon the next day.

“Hundreds of people go to them, they set up marquees and have security guards.”

Nearest to a Ferrari you’ll ever get is a toy one

Giles Mackay

The property tycoon reportedly hosted all-night parties with his on-off girlfriend Khristina, 37.

He got with the Siberian socialite after his marriage to wife Caroline broke down, Mail Online reports.

The millionaire’s ex-wife accused Mackay of hiding his true wealth from her.

He appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2008 with a net worth of an eye-watering £85million.

However, his wealth skyrocketed after he sold his firm Hometrack, which analyses the property market, for a whopping £120million.

Mackay made headlines in 2012 after falling out with the design team he hired to build his home on the site of a former 1930s telephone exchange in The Boltons.

A judge called him “combative and aggressive” and ordered him to pay a staggering £3.2million in damages for unpaid work.

During his dispute with the contractors, Mackay reportedly told one that their home could “fit into my dining room” and added that the “nearest to a Ferrari you’ll ever get is a toy one.”

He also said that the wife of another business partner was “avaricious and jealous” and “needing a f***ing good slap”.

Mackay recently sold the property, notorious for hosting his late-night parties, to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for £65million.

The mega mansion features nine bedrooms, a glass lift, a basement swimming pool and a cinema.

It comes after a Channel 4 star was accused of swindling £2million from renting out an exclusive home to tenants in London.

And a millionaire sugar daddy told police how he secretly bugged his escort girlfriend – and heard her bragging she was going to “do him over” for his money

Arsenal’s North London derby hero Gabriel’s wife trolls Tottenham with hilarious picture as fans call him ‘Spurs owner’

ARSENAL fans have praised Gabriel’s wife after she brilliantly trolled Tottenham.

The centre-back scored a towering header as the Gunners beat their bitter rivals 1-0 in yesterday’s North London derby.

With Arsenal missing several key players like Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, Gabriel rose to the occasion and had a huge impact in both boxes.

After the game, he was handed the man of the match award – despite Sky Sports mixing him up with team-mate Gabriel Jesus.

He took home his accolade and his wife Gabrielle Figueiredo showed it off in style.

She first posted a photo of the award alongside the caption: “Home sweet home.”

And then she uploaded a second image of the trophy alongside the one he got last season after another excellent performance in the derby.

Gabriel earned the prize for playing a crucial role in Arsenal’s 3-2 win away at Spurs back in April.

Fans found his wife’s trolling of Tottenham brilliant, with one saying: “What a flex.”

Another added: “Spurs owner.”

A third commented: “She knows the drill.”

Arsenal ratings vs Spurs as Gabriel is the hero in feisty North London derby

GABRIEL headed in the only goal of the game as a depleted Arsenal snatched all three points in the North London Derby.

Here’s how SunSport’s Lloyd Canfield rated the Gunners players…

DAVID RAYA – 8/10

Commanded his area well, and was a safe pair of hands throughout the game. Another great showing in what has been a spectacular start for the Spanish stopper.

JURRIEN TIMBER – 7

Did well from an attacking perspective, charging down the left hand side on various occasions. Solid defensively too against Spurs’ flying right side of Johnson and Porro.

Some would argue he should’ve been sent off for a challenge on Pedro Porro in the first half, but he escaped despite squaring up to Vicario in the aftermath.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 8

A really good recovery challenge in the first half to deny Dominic Solanke, despite being booked early on.

You can always count on Saliba to put in a solid display, and he didn’t disappoint today with fantastic passing out from the back too.

GABRIEL – 9

A fantastic defensive showing throughout, reinforced with a towering header inside the box to give his side the lead from a set piece (shock).

Has formed an impeccable partnership with Saliba, personified by their heartwarming celebration together after the opener. He’s the man.

BEN WHITE – 6

Gave away the ball in a dangerous position in the first half, with Solanke failing to capitalise and had a tough first half against the quick feet of Heung Min-Son.

Was not able to demonstrate the dangerous right-hand side overlap we saw work so effectively last season, but wasn’t threatened in the second 45.

JORGINHO – 4

Struggled to replace the suspended Declan Rice for this North London derby, whom the Gunners really missed.

A tough task, but didn’t come close to matching Rice’s intensity or ability to drive the ball up the pitch which left Arsenal weak in the forward areas.

THOMAS PARTEY – 5

Struggled in transition with Jorginho alongside him, another player who felt the full force of no Rice and Odegaard.

Not fast enough with or without the ball, and will need to perk his ideas up for City next week.

GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 6

Looked like a bright spark with his running and forward movement, but was let down by his end product or lack thereof.

Worked really really hard throughout, just looks short of confidence in the last actions.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 6

Dropping deeper into more of a midfield role than he’s used to today, it should be noted that he did a job for the team when they needed him.

Not the flying efficiency machine we have seen him be from the bench, but his versatility will be needed this season it seems.

BUKAYO SAKA – 7

Didn’t make the kind of impact on the game we are used to seeing from the brilliant Bukayo Saka, and looked less of a threat without Martin Odegaard to combine with.

Did some really good defensive work nonetheless, and delivered the perfect corner to claim the assist for Gabriel’s opener.

KAI HAVERTZ – 6

A good header in the first half was saved well by Vicario in the spurs net – actually made more clearances (3) than he managed shots on target (2) in the first 45.

Was a handful for the Spurs defence, but largely nullified by the pace and power of Mickey Van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

Huge TV star returns to hit BBC kids show – 29 years after first starring in it

UPCOMING episodes of BBC’s The Famous Five will see a huge TV star return to the franchise – almost three decades since their first appearance.

Based on Enid Blyton’s beloved children’s books, the show debuted on CBBC last year, following previous TV iterations in 1978 and 1995, respectively.

Jemima previously played George in ITV’s 1990s version of The Famous Five[/caption]

Meanwhile, the forthcoming second series will feature the return of actress Jemima Rooper, who played George in the 1995 version.

The actress, now 42, takes on the role of Angela Clutterbuck, a guest staying at a mysterious hotel.

Jemima has since appeared in shows including Atlantis, Father Brown, Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders and Sky One’s The Hex.

In the latest adaptation, George is played by Diaana Babnicova, who is reprising her role for series two.

Joining her are the rest of the Five – Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick, Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne and Kip, the Bearded Collie Cross as Timmy the dog.

Also returning are James Lance as Uncle Quentin, Ann Akinjirin as Aunt Fanny and Jack Gleeson as Thomas Wentworth.

As well as Jemima, other new faces joining the cast include Maria Pedraza, Amir Wilson (His Dark Materials), James Wilby (Poldark), Rita Tushingham (A Taste of Honey), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock) and Jamie Andrew Cutler (The Hurricane Heist).

The show’s creator and executive producer, Nicolas Winding Refn, said the show’s return “fills [his’] inner child with pure content”.

He added: “It is an adventure to manifest the youthful fantasies of my imagination and watch these characters, essentially my lifelong friends, continue to blossom and evolve.

“This second season is sure to inspire and elicit unadulterated elation!”

Cast member James Lance said: “‘I am delighted to be back playing Uncle Quentin in The Famous Five. This series is a gem.

“It is a privilege to be working with our wonderful cast with the sweetest co-star, dear Kip who plays Timmy the dog as we follow him on these magical adventures.”

Following the show’s launch, some viewers were left feeling unhappy about the adaptation.

One wrote on X: “Less than five minutes in and this Famous Five adaptation is awful.

“Will persevere a bit longer just in case but hopes are not high. Why mess with a classic story?”

Another person agreed, writing: “Just watched The Famous Five. Awful.

BBC's The Famous Five cast

The BBC's adaptation of Enid Blyton's beloved books The Famous Five launched last year. Here is a look at the show's core cast.

This latest iteration of The Famous Five marks the third time Blyton’s books have been adapted for the small screen. Previously, the show was adapted in 1978 and 1995, respectively.

  • Diaana Babnicova as George
  • Elliott Rose as Julian
  • Kit Rakusen as Dick
  • Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne
  • James Lance as Uncle Quentin
  • Ann Akinjirin as Aunt Fanny
  • Kip as Timmy, the dog
  • Jack Gleeson as Thomas Wentworth

“Why can’t the BBC leave things as they’re meant to be? George is taller than her mother, it’s badly cast and don’t get me started on the music and filming!

“Not what Enid Blyton wrote!”

Whether or not they will be won over by series two, remains to be seen.

Series 1 of BBC‘s The Famous Five is available to watch on iPlayer

It’s a myth that William and Harry were always close – Princess Diana told me the truth

IT’S a “myth” that Princes William and Harry were always close, a royal expert has claimed.

According to Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine and royal biographer, Prince Harry, 40, wanted his late mother, Princess Diana, “to himself” and only grew closer to his brother, 42, after her death.

Ingrid told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive that Harry ‘wanted his mother to himself’[/caption]

Ingrid told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive that Harry was a very tactile young boy, who wasn’t close with his sibling.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Ingrid shared Diana’s “concerns” for Harry, as she confessed: “[Diana] opened up and she said at one time she really worried about William, but then she started to be concerned about Harry as she said he had no interest in learning, he never picked up a book.

“She obviously really tried to help him, but all Harry really wanted to do was have his mother to himself.

“He would sometimes pretend that he was ill at school so she could pick him up and take him home so he could sit and watch television with her all afternoon. He was a very tactile young boy. Very close to his mother.”

Ingrid claimed that the pair became “unified” after Diana’s death, but sibling rivalry was rife between them.

She continued: “I remember after William went on his gap year, way back on operation Raleigh, Harry said ‘he’s much nicer now’, so this myth that Harry and Wiliam were very close, is a myth.

“They were only really close after their mother died. Of course they unified and they were the only two people that knew what it felt like.

“But they weren’t very close as youngsters.”

The royal expert claimed that she and Diana discussed the rift between the boys regularly, as she added: “We talked about it quite a lot. She said ‘I worry for Harry and I’m really, really careful that he’s not treated differently than William’.

“When they used to go and see the Queen Mother, she would pat the chair and say ‘come and sit here William’ and completely ignore Harry, and that really upset Diana.

“And that’s one of the reasons she said to me she wanted him to go to Eton rather than some other school which might’ve suited him better.

“She didn’t want people to say ‘he’s stupid’ or that ‘he can’t get in there’. She was very concerned about his feeling of inadequacy with William.”

Diana was very conscious of Harry being a very sensitive child

Ingrid Seward

Ingrid claimed that Diana was “worried” for Harry and “conscious” of his sensitivity.

She added: “I think she worried much more for Harry because she just wasn’t sure which way he was going to go.

A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.

Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.

Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.

In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.

In May he visited the UK for a three-day visit without seeing King Charles or Prince William.

“When William was a little boy, he would bully him quite a lot, which was perfectly normal, and Harry would always take the blame for the scrapes they’d get into. Again, perfectly normal for young boys.

“But Diana was very conscious of Harry being a very sensitive child and she wondered what he was going to do, was he going to follow his love, which was the army, even as a little boy.

“It was planted very, very young, that seed of William having the privilege. And Harry of course didn’t really understand. In a way it’s better to be the spare than the heir.”

They were only really close after their mother died…they weren’t very close as youngsters

Ingrid Seward

After stepping down as working royals and leaving the UK in 2020, Harry, who is based in California with wife Meghan Markle, 43, and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, now live in their sprawling mansion in Montecito, with A-listers including Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow as their neighbours.

Relations between William and Harry have been strained for years, but their rift became even more apparent when Harry and Meghan spoke out against the Royal Family during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 – where they claimed Kate had made Meghan cry ahead of her 2018 wedding in an argument over bridesmaid dresses.

Harry then made a string of bombshell claims about William in his controversial memoir, Spare, last year, claiming that William had once ‘knocked him to the floor’ in a physical fight and that he had also pointed his finger in Meghan’s face and branded her ‘rude’.

William and Harry are no longer on speaking terms, and it’s thought that they kept their distance when they recently attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in Norfolk

When it comes to Harry’s fall-out with his brother, Ingrid suggested: “What [Diana] wouldn’t like is this fall out from the family. She would really hate that.

“She wouldn’t be at all happy that Harry had fallen out with William. She always said to them ‘please, please remember, don’t ever forget that you’re brothers and I want you to be friends’. That would worry her about Harry.”
