I’m a home expert & my six food storage tips will make your groceries last longer – it’ll save you so much money
A HOME expert has shared the storage hacks that help to prolong the shelf life of your groceries.
She explained the reasoning behind each of her food tips, including the best part of the fridge for your milk.
She explained that her advice will help reduce the amount of food waste in your home (stock image)[/caption]In her viral video, TikTok user Caroline (@neat.caroline) talked her followers through each of her grocery hacks.
For her first tip, she recommended moving your carton of milk from the fridge door.
While most people tend to keep the food staple there for convenience, Caroline explained that there are cooler sections of the fridge that will keep your milk fresher for longer.
She suggested storing it on the upper or middle shelves as this is where the temperature is coldest.
Caroline also advised her audience to keep nuts in airtight containers in the fridge.
She explained that this simple move can keep the food item fresh for up to six months.
Next, she suggested wrapping your cheese in parchment paper before storing it.
According to the expert, this technique allows the cheese to breathe while absorbing moisture, preventing mould growth.
Caroline also recommended opting for salted butter if you are someone who enjoys it at room temperature.
She explained that this is because the grocery item lasts longer than the unsalted kind.
For her final suggestion, Caroline revealed the best way to store ginger roots.
“Place ginger in a plastic bag with the air pushed out in a crisper drawer,” she advised.
“This will keep in oxygen and moisture, prolonging freshness.”
Her followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.
“Thanks! I learned multiple new things! Also, I keep ginger in the freezer so it is easy to grate,” wrote one viewer.
What foods should you ALWAYS keep in the fridge?

- Yoghurts
“I’m going to try the cheese wrapped in parchment paper. Good tip,” said another person.
“The fruit hack is helpful, thank you!” commented a third impressed person.
“Oh my God, [the] raspberry hack changes the game,” wrote another TikTok user.
“My fruit lasts so much longer in the glass, I was blown away,” said one viewer.
“Great tips! Going to be doing a lot of these. Thank you!” commented another follower.

So if you fancy treating yourself to some new clothes, but are on a budget and can’t afford to splash too much cash, then you’ll need to check this out.
A fashion fan has revealed that she has found the best Autumn/Winter buys from F&F[/caption] Not only did Rebecca Sudwarts nab a stylish leather jacket and a warm coat, but she also got gorgeous denim jeans[/caption] She was equally as thrilled with these blue denim jeans[/caption]Rebecca Sudwarts, a fashionista who is five foot eight and in between a size 14 and 16, was lucky enough to get her hands on a range of must-have Autumn/Winter buys, as well as a dress that’s super flattering.
Not only this, but she also nabbed a leather jacket and a coat that are perfect for the change in season.
The curvy fashion fan, who is from the UK, took to social media to share her honest thoughts on her new F&F haul, leaving many very impressed.
Posting online, the ex Senior Fashion Buyer kicked off her haul with a pair of leopard print jeans.
Thrilled with her denims, she beamed: “We know leopard is everywhere, it’s really having a moment.
“I must say, I really do like this print and the denim is really nice, it’s got a slight stretch to it.
“I really like that it’s high-rise and slim, it’s a nice change from the wide leg that seems to be everywhere at the moment.”
She paired the jeans with a bodysuit, as she advised: “Also if you haven’t checked out F&F’s bodysuits, definitely try. They’re a great basic to have in your wardrobe and they come in loads of different options.”
We then saw Rebecca in a pair of blue denim jeans, which she paired with a leather jacket, as she added: “Also saw these really nice, turn-up, wide leg jeans.
“I really love this jacket, it’s got so much detail on it, it’s a really cool block, almost like a vintage block.”
Following this, the fashionista modelled her new coat, which cost her £49.50, as she explained: “Love this coat, it is so warm.
“It is so premium looking, it’s got a hood as well.
“How amazing would this be in the winter? It would really keep you warm.
“I absolutely love the colour and think it’s a great price.”
Reasons to shop supermarket fashion
When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or update your basics, there's no need to spend hours walking around clothes shops, or scrolling online. Just pick up a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg...
They’re convenient – Chances are you visit your supermarket more times than a shopping centre or high street.
It’s affordable – For basics to more fashion-led pieces, supermarkets are leading the way for budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap.
They’re more on-trend that you think – With a customer database larger than the average high street store, shops like ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are able to cater to the markets and predict trends in a lot more areas than just food supply.
They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often highly practical too—think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thought.
Rebecca then modelled a pair of £19.50 faux leather leggings and a striped jumper, as she expressed: “A nice big baggy jumper and some leather-look leggings.
“They’re very generous, super high waisted so really comfy and the jumper is just £16 and I love it because it’s a bum cover.”
To finish off the haul, the content creator showed off her new dress, which she described as “stunning”.
How has Tesco's F&F upped its game
By Fabulous’ Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend
ZARA has become a high street staple in recent years thanks to its hot-off-the-catwalk designs and affordable prices.
But recently those prices have risen with the brand’s popularity.
However, if you are looking for high fashion inspired outfits with low price tags you needn’t drag yourself to your local shops, just head to the supermarket instead.
F&F has come a long way from selling a few backs of T-shirts and fluffy dressing gowns and is now a must have shopping destination for thousands.
They produce good quality, long lasting and on trend clothes that puts others to shame.
F&F is filled with Zara dupes and other looks inspired by our favourite shops that will set you back less than £50 – and you can get them while you pick up your dinner.
I for one love F&F denim, it’s durable, fits really well and has all the best silhouettes.
So even if you’re not looking for reasonable prices but just want good clothes, get yourself to Tesco.
Thrilled with the trendy dress, Rebecca concluded: “It’s an amazing shape, a v-neck and it pulls you in at your waist and skims over your tummy.
“I know I’ll get so much wear out of this in the winter.
“At this point I’m prepared to give F&F all my money.”
FASHION FANS REACT
The Instagram clip, which was posted under the username @stylingwithrebecca, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has since amassed 1.6 million views.
Fashion fans were left beaming with the new buys and many flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

FASHION fans heaped on the praise for a budget buy from Marks & Spencer.
Shoppers dubbed the leopard print look “perfect” for Autumn after one woman modelled it online.
In her viral video, TikTok user Cat Patterson (@catlpatterson) posed in the frock, before demonstrating two ways of styling it.
“I know you all love leopard print as much as I do,” she told her followers.
Cat showed off the £22 Chiffon Printed V-Neck Midi-Waisted Dress from M&S.
For her first example of how she’d wear it, the fashion fan decided to dress it down.
She added “pops of pink” to the outfit beginning with an oversized dusty rose jumper.
Cat accessorised with a bright pink baseball cap, a pink handbag, pink socks and pink trainers.
“I just think leopard print and pink is the cutest vibe,” she explained to her audience.
She also modelled an alternative look, layering a sports jersey-like slogan top over the dress.
“It’s giving me American football vibes,” Cat said.
The TikToker “elevated” the look with a pair of red flats and a faux black leather handbag.
She also used a hairband hack to create a cropped look for the oversized tee.
Cat explained that the extra step helped to “pull the look together a little bit.”
For her final touch, she added a pair of bright red sunglasses to her outfit.
TikTok users shared their thoughts on the dress in the comments section.
“Love!!! Such a cutesy dress,” wrote one impressed follower.
The must-have colour for autumn wardrobes
WHEN it comes to colour, one in particular has dominated the A/W runways.
Maroon has been seen on big-name designer catwalks such as Tom Ford, Gucci, Valentino and Versace, to name a few.
Perfect to mix with your current wardrobe, don’t think that this deep shade is just for the colder months.
It’s also great to wear at this time of year and one you can continue wearing throughout the rest of the year and beyond.
Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend said: “There’s something about maroon’s deep, rich colour that instantly makes you look well put-together and expensive.”
“That dress is fabulous. I love the first fit,” agreed another viewer.
“Absolutely love these! I think the first outfit is my favourite, can’t go wrong with leopard print and pink,” commented a third person.
“Oh I LOVE that dress!!” wrote another TikTok user.
Cat described the look at the perfect transitional piece for the start of autumn.
She added that the price point was an added bonus.
