World Leaks

Exact date within days as Aldi’s sale on baby and toddler items is coming back – prices start from just 79p

ALDI is back with its baby and toddler event later this week so you can save big on all baby essentials.

Shoppers will rush to the budget-friendly supermarket from this Sunday, September 22 to grab all the latest deals on baby and toddler items.

You could make a huge saving by shopping at Aldi from Sunday

With prices starting from 79p, bargain-hunting families will be able to get must-haves for their little ones for very cheap.

The new Special Buys selection features budget-friendly necessities such as baby bottles for £2.99 and nappies for 75p.

Aldi’s Special Buys are on sale until they sell out, so it’s better to go sooner rather than later if you have an item in mind as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

The range coming this week also boasts a variety of potential presents, from books to plush toys and toy prams.

Parents and parents-to-be will be rushing to Aldi to bag the latest deals, as these items regularly sell out quickly.

All items in the baby and toddler event will be available to buy in stores from Sunday, including exclusively discounted products from the Tommee Tippee range.

Aldi has around 620 shops in the UK – use the Aldi store finder to locate your nearest retailer.

As always, remember to compare prices with other stores to be sure you’re not missing out on a better deal elsewhere.

The best way to do this is by filtering your search items while surfing online websites.

By selecting “lowest prices first” when you click “sort by”, you can filter the cheapest deals between different websites.

It’s also always worth checking your local Facebook groups to scout the best deals in stores near you.

Mamia Ultra Dry Air System Nappies (24 pack) – 79p

Version 1.0.0
The Mamia Ultra Dry Air System Nappies are on sale for 75p in Aldi

Aldi is selling 24 nappies for just 75p, meaning they cost just 3.2p each.

The pack will be available for newborn babies and up to age six plus.

When compared to rival cheap supermarket Asda, which stocks a pack of 24 Little Angels newborn nappies for 89p, Aldi buyers save 1p for every 2 nappies used.

If you shop in Tesco, a 24 pack of Fred & Flo newborn nappies would set you back £1.20 total – saving 41p if you buy from Aldi this weekend instead.

Nuby My Real Potty – £19.99

The Nuby potty has a realistic flush deign and will be sold for £19.99

Aldi’s Nuby My Real potty is described as “a realistic training toilet that looks and feels like the adult version.”

The Nubi Sit Me Up Seat will be £19.99 in stores

This plush inflatable seat is “designed to improve motor skills and encourage sensory development”, according to the Aldi website.

The cloth books are selling for £1.00, while the multi-sound books are selling for £3.99

Aldi’s range of children’s books claim to “set your little one’s imagination free” – all for the bargain price of £1.99.

The Make Believe Cloth Book and Really Decent Wibbly Wobbly Book aim to offer a learning experience for your child.

Alternatively, a “My First Nursery Rhymes” book with sound effects will cost £3.99 in Aldi on Sunday.

Compared to Argos, which has a Vtech Nursery Rhymes Book priced at £7.50, bargain-hunters will save a whopping £3.51 on this purchase.

Tommee Tippee Healthcare Kit – £14.99

The Tommee Tippee healthcare kit will be available in Aldi from Sunday

For £14.99, the Tommee Tippee Healthcare kit comes with a comb, brush, nail clipper, toothbrush, nail file, scissors, a thermometer and a nasal aspirator.

The same product is selling on Argos website for £20, meaning more than £5 saved when you shop at Aldi.

We calculated that to buy the contents of this kit separately on a budget in Boots, a shopper would have had to spend at least £35.41 – meaning a saving of £20.42 when shopping at Aldi.

Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer – £14.99

The bottle warmer will be sold for £14.99

The Tommee Tippee bottle warmer is perfect for feeding your little one on the go.

Other Tommee Tippee bottle warmers can cost as much as £58.99 on the brand’s website, meaning savvy buyers of Special Buys products save £44.

Tommee Tippee Natural Start Bottle – £3.99

This baby bottle, which Aldi describes as “practical and easy to use”, will be selling for £3.99 come Sunday.

On the Tommee Tippee website, the same cup is selling for £7.49, and is on sale on the Boots UK site for £6.79.

This means Aldi buyers will be rushing to their local store to save at least £3.50 on purchase.

Licensed Cup/Bottles – £2.99

The soda cups will be sold with varying kids designs

For babies feeding, or toddlers starting nursery and school, these cups/bottles are perfect due to their anti-spill designs.

The Licensed Cup, designed with their favourite characters, is priced at £2.99.

A Tommee Tippee Superstar Water Bottle will also be available for the price of £3.99, saving 19% compared to Tesco, which stocks the same cup for £4.75.

When's the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.

You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.

They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible

What is the Aldi baby and toddler event?

In recent history, the Aldi baby and toddler event has happened twice a year, with the last event taking place in July.

The event showcases all of Aldi’s baby and toddler essentials, from bottles and nappies to bottles and toys.

The products often sell out, so make sure you get ahead of the game by browsing which products are in store soon via the Aldi website.

To sift through the best deals, keep an eye on local Facebook bargain groups and monitor the cheapest items using the “Sort By” tool on supermarket websites.

An adaption of Terry Gilliam‘s hit 1981 British family adventure movie, it ran for just ten episodes.

Included in the cast was Friends actress Lisa Kudrow, with the show created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi.

The show featured Kevin – an 11-year-old history buff as he forms an unlikely alliance with a group of thieves they embark on a mission to save his family around the world.

However, the series failed to rank in the top 10 and Apple TV+ bosses have brought the axe firmly down, according to Deadline.

The journey to get the TV adaption on the small screen was a lengthy one, with the streamer acquiring the rights to the movie six years ago.

Also starring in Time Bandits is Kal-EI Tuck, Tadhg Murphy, Rune Temte and Rachel House.

Meanwhile, Apple TV+ are bringing back Criminal Minds for a second series.

Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo will return as leading characters DCI Daniel Hegarty and DS June Lenker.

Series one launched on the streamer in January, with eight episodes.

In the second season, June is on the scene as a senior officer as a political rally faces an attack from far-right counter protesters.

I quit my job & I’m a 26-year-old stay-at-home girlfriend…trolls say it ‘isn’t 1960’ & call me ‘desperate’, I don’t care

A WOMAN has revealed that she quit her job and is now a full-time stay-at-home girlfriend.

Patty Jean, who is from the US, confirmed that she spends her days cooking her boyfriend homemade meals from scratch – and even makes her own pasta and dog biscuits.

Patty Jean, 26, even makes her own pasta from scratch, but was forced to respond to trolls after opening up on her unique lifestyle
Tiktok/@pattyjeann

Posting on social media, the influencer gave her followers a quick insight into a typical day in her life, as she filmed herself in her kitchen making dinner for her partner.

She said: “I quit my job to be a stay-at-home girlfriend and as a stay-at-home girlfriend, I am required to make all meals for my boyfriend.”

Patty shared that she decided to cook a pasta dish, which she made totally from scratch.

Patty gathered her ingredients and made her dough, which she placed in a plastic bag.

She then added: “Later I came back to finish the pasta, but I came back ready because my boyfriend required me to get ready so that I didn’t look like a bum around the house.”

Patty finished preparing her partner’s meal – Fettuccine Alfredo – as she continued: “I really hope my boyfriend likes this recipe so that I can keep doing this full time because I don’t wanna work anymore.”

But the TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @pattyjeann, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 417,400 views.

Social media users were stunned by Patty’s claims and many thought it was ‘crazy’ that she would want to live such a lifestyle.

One person said: “Required? How desperate of you… Get to work, do something for your life.

“He will dump you and you will have no job experience, just cooking experience for your boyfriend.”

A second added: “You are his maid!!”

A third commented: “Nobody requires anything from me.”

It’s 2024 not 1824

Meanwhile, someone else penned: “That’s crazy.”

At the same time, one user snapped: “Required? It’s 2024 not 1824.”

What is a trad wife?

A trad wife (short for traditional wife) is a woman who chooses to take on an ultra traditional role in marriage, meaning she makes dinner and looks pretty whilst her husband goes to work.

The trend takes inspiration from the idea of a 1950s housewife.

Many ‘trad wives’ choose to dress in the style of clothing popular in this period (think floral dresses and frumpy cardigans).

Additionally, the values considered important to trad wives are similar to strict Christian values.

Trad wives believed they were not forced into this way of life, and that it was their purpose to be homemakers.

The trend, which has garnered attention on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, glamorises a time gone by with little acknowledgement of the economic challenges facing families and mothers today.

Whilst another chimed in: “This not 1960.”

But in a follow-up clip, the brunette beauty was keen to respond to trolls and set the record straight on her life as a stay-at-home girlfriend.

The content creator explained: “My boyfriend doesn’t actually ‘require’ me to do anything. The word ‘require’ is used in satire.

“The day I came home and said that I wanted to quit, he was actually one of the most supportive and loving people and told me that I didn’t even have to work, so now I truly am a stay-at-home girlfriend.”
