Shocked Naga Munchetty ‘lost for words’ as BBC Breakfast co-star strips topless live on air

NAGA Munchetty was left ‘lost for words’ as her BBC colleague stripped live on air.

The 49-year-old was anchoring this morning’s BBC Breakfast alongside Charlie Stayt.

During the show viewers watched as the pair covered Dorset Museum’s naked viewing.

The event allows members of the public to wander around the galleries in the nip, baring all as they observe the artwork.

Commenting on the topic, stern Charlie told viewers: “So normally when you think of nudes in a museum, your mind would naturally wander to statues or maybe sculptures.”

Naga then added: “That mind change. A museum in Dorchester is literally bringing that idea to life. Recently it’s opening its doors to visitors who want to wander through its galleries after hours, completely naked.

“Why? Well, that’s what our reporter Steve Harris has been finding out.”

Beeb reporter Steve was live from the museum and joined Charlie, 61, and Naga via satellite.

He spoke to one naked man who said going around starkers “gives you a massive confidence to see normal people naked”.

But as the segment drew to a close, Steve revealed the museum was set to shut down – and he seized the opportunity to strip off.

He left Naga visibly stunned as he took off his blazer and shirt, exposing his bare hairy chest.

Steve said: “For now, this evening is a one-off. After tonight, the museum will be closed until further notice but I’m not going to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. What’s that saying? When in Rome…”

Lost for words, Naga turned to her co-star Charlie, asking him: “Does that appeal to you?”

He swiftly replied: “No, I just think it’s great. People being happy, doing their thing. Why not?”

BBC Breakfast viewers at home were left amused following Naga’s reaction and flooded social media with comments.

One said: “Never seen @TVNaga01 lost for words before after the report on Dorset Museum!”

A second wrote: “Best thing I’ve seen on @bbcbreakfast in years, Naga’s face as a piece on a nude-friendly art gallery ended. Looked a bit like Dame Edna when she was shocked.”

“@TVNaga01 Well done for keeping a straight face earlier,” said a third.

Who are the current presenters of BBC Breakfast?

Iconic hatchback loved in the 1980s just months away from return as small EV – & it’s set to rival the Fiat 500

AN ICONIC hatchback that was beloved by petrolheads in the ’80s is just months away from a return as a small EV to rival the Fiat 500.

The model will launch as one of the cheapest on the market, with an expected price of around £25,000.

The original model was discontinued in 1996[/caption]

The Renault 5 made its debut back in 1972 as a hardy but affordable supermini.

It swiftly found fame in its homeland, ranking as France’s most popular car every year between 1972 and 1986, with over 5 million made.

Success was also found in the UK, with the 5 gaining a cult following among enthusiasts along with its four-door cousin the Renault 7.

However, the model was finally discontinued in 1996, bringing a close to its 24-year production run.

That was until it was revived in February of this year as the Renault 5 E-tech, an electric version of the beloved classic.

Now, Autocar reports that the new motor has been spotted undergoing its final UK tests ahead of an “imminent” release.

The resurrected five takes its styling from the original but will sit on the same mechanical platform as the modern Nissan Juke and Renault Clio.

The battery pack will use a specially-designed inverter that has allowed designers to shave 15kg of weight and 3cm of length off compared to its sister models.

This has allowed the firm to put in a 40kWh battery, giving the 5 roughly doubly the capacity of the Zoe (another of its siblings) while still weighing 100kg less.

Bosses suggest that the focus has been on improving the dynamics of the cars, including relaxing the handling and a new suspension system.

The base model, 40kWh version is expected to have a range of around 186 miles, while the larger 52kWh variant can stretch to 249 miles.

The former will be equipped with rapid charging capability, while both include a very neat money-spinning feature.

New charging tech means the 5 can engage in bi-directional electricity transfer, allowing it to send out up to 11kWh of power to external devices.

In effect, this could allow drivers to take advantage of cheaper energy prices overnight, before selling energy back to the grid at peak hours to turn a profit.

This function will be offered in France via Renault’s Mobilize app and could make its way this side of the Channel too.

Speaking of the financials, the 5 is expected to come in at around £25,000, making it one of the cheapest EVs on the market and not far off the cheapest cars overall.

The brand puts this down to using a pre-existing platform, allowing it to undercut bespoke rivals like the £28,000 Fiat 500e.

Guillaume Sicard, Managing Director Renault UK, said: “Since the original concept was revealed, interest in the all-electric Renault 5 has been incredible.

“We strive to produce cars that support sustainable mobility yet are also emotive, and this award confirms that this is a winning formula in every sense.”

Man, 32, pleads guilty to killing Amazon driver ‘dragged for half a mile to his death by stolen van’ – but denies murder

A MAN has pleaded guilty to killing an Amazon driver who was dragged for half a mile to his death when his van was stolen.

Claudiu-Carol Kondor, 42, was killed in Wortley, West Yorkshire, in August while making a delivery.

Footage showed the van racing away from the scene

Mark Ross, 32, appeared at Leeds Crown Court today where he admitted manslaughter.

But he will still stand trial for murder after pleading not guilty to the charge.

Ross was remanded into custody to next appear at the same court for his trial on March 4.

An inquest previously heard how Claudiu-Carol was “a Romanian gentleman who was contributing to society” when he was killed.

His cause of death was given as head and chest injuries.

Senior coroner Kevin McLoughlin said the tragic case involved the “violent and unnatural death of a valued citizen” as he adjourned the inquest.

The horror unfolded as Claudiu-Carol allegedly found a man behind the wheel of his Ford van when he returned from delivering a parcel.

He was dragged for half-a-mile when the van sped off while he clung desperately to the passenger door.

Footage showed the vehicle slamming into parked cars before the delivery driver was flung into the road.

Claudiu, who was engaged to his long-term partner, tragically couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene.

Tributes flooded in for the driver after a GoFundMe set up by his colleagues reached more than £20,000.

It read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the loss of our beloved colleague.

“Claudiu was a dedicated and cherished member of the SP Transport Group family, who tragically lost his life during a struggle that occurred in the midst of a van theft.

“This unimaginable loss has left us all devastated.

“Claudiu was more than just a colleague – he was a friend, a confidant, and a valued member of our team.

“His commitment to his work and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace will never be forgotten.

“The impact of this tragedy extends far beyond our workplace, affecting all who had the privilege of knowing Claudiu.”

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police also held a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender but she has been released under investigation.

BBC game show host ‘set to sign’ for Celebrity Traitors as star emerges as frontrunner for first ever all-star edition

CLAUDIA Winkleman is heading back to Ardross Castle for the BBC’s first ever Celebrity Traitors – and it seems she’ll have some familiar faces joining her for the new series.

BBC game show host Richard Osman has become the unexpected front runner as an insider has teased that he is “set to sign up” for the monumental celeb series.

The first ever all-star edition of The Traitors premieres in 2025[/caption]

The Sun revealed in January that a celebrity spin-off of The Traitors was in the works, with filming expected to start in early 2025.

The show was officially confirmed at the Edinburgh TV Festival last week and since then, speculation has been rife about the celebrity line-up.

Richard, 53, has now emerged as the unexpected front runner for Celebrity Traitors and as insider confirmed he has the skills BBC bosses are looking for.

They said: “Richard would be a terrific signing. He reckons he knows how to commit the perfect murder, so could surely spot a Traitor from 100 paces or outsmart the others if he needs to?

“He also knows exactly how TV works. Anyone who’s seen him on Pointless or House of Games will know how clever he is. And his claim that he’s no good at lying seems unlikely.”

The former Pointless host previously said that he can’t keep a secret, revealing that he’d been turned down by MI6 in his youth.

“You could not find a worse spy. I would have been terrible. I’m too tall, not bright enough, and if I have a secret, I tell everybody,” he revealed.

But overlooking his secret keeping abilities, the Cambridge alum has plenty of skills that would serve him well on Celebrity Traitors, such as his ability to listen and observe what’s going on around him.

Taking about his skills, he said: “I’m good with words and at doing quizzes and I have a good memory, but that’s not intelligence. I’m visually impaired so I see very badly. But it’s meant I’ve had to listen a lot and take in information really well.”

Richard, who currently presents the quiz show House of Games and Pointless Celebrities for the BBC, has put his smarts to good use.

He is a published author who has written almost half a dozen best-selling murder mystery novels.

His current publishing deal with Penguin reportedly worth £10 million and the first instalment of his Thursday Murder Club series is now being turned into a Steven Spielberg movie, starring Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, Jonathan Pryce and Ben Kingsley.

Additionally, during his career Richard has helped create shows including Deal or No Deal, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?

If Richard does sign on to Celebrity Traitors, he’ll be in good company as bosses also hope to bring Ricky Gervais back to the BBC to star in their new celebrity spin-off.

Do you have to pay tax on game show winnings in the UK?

Unlike in many other countries, such as the US, HMRC allows cash prizes from competitions and the National Lottery to be tax-free.

However, in order for the money to be seen as from a ‘competition’, there has to be a skill-based element, such as a quiz question, or the option of free entry.

This is why some competitions ask incredibly simple questions that even a five-year-old could answer, as they are trying to get around the requirement to offer a free entry option.

The comedian, 63, is high among the collection of A-listers being targeted for the centrepiece project.

Ricky has been busy of late with his hugely popular stand up series for Netflix.

But the broadcaster hopes he might be convinced to come back to the channel where he shot to global fame for his role in The Office.

A TV insider said: “The Beeb want the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off, and they ideally have to be incredibly smart, funny, and mischievous — and that’s Ricky in three words.

“Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of The Traitors was being made.”

Other stars said to be in the frame for the programme include presenter Jonathan Ross, who has expressed his love for the contest, as well as Courteney Cox, a close friend of host Claudia Winkleman.

But the Beeb has yet to reveal who they want for the show, or whether anybody has been signed up yet.

Xbox reveals that Bethesda’s new September release is available for free on launch day but there’s a catch

SEPTEMBER has been the most packed month of the year for gaming, but it’s not over just yet.

While we take in the final few days, there are still plenty of big hitters to end off the month.

a man in a space suit is flying through the air
Bethesda
Shattered Space is Starfield’s first big expansion[/caption]

Not only that but people have already started prepping their wallets for October, which is set to be even bigger.

With all that said, gamers are looking for a bargain, ways to keep up to date with the latest releases without paying that new game price tag.

That’s where Xbox is stepping in, with the chance to play Bethesda’s upcoming story as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC.

Xbox has come under fire recently for the decision to increase the price of Xbox Game Pass and to remove one of its better value tiers.

Game Pass for Console has been replaced with Game Pass Standard, which includes online play, but removes access to day-one releases.

Around 50 games have been removed as part of the swap to the new service, giving poor value to those who love single-player games.

Among the games that were lost in the shuffle is Xbox’s biggest exclusive of 2023, Starfield.

However, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or Xbox Game Pass for PC subscriber, you can still take advantage of the upcoming release.

Starfield: Shattered Space will launch on Monday, September 30, 2024, and is the first of two major expansions for the game.

The story expansion focuses exclusively on the planet of Va’ruun’kai, which means it’s very different from the base game’s focus of interplanetary exploration.

Bethesda has suggested that it will be a very narrative-focused DLC, meaning that there will be lots of story beats to enjoy.

While gameplay is focused around one planet, that doesn’t mean you will be stuck for things to do as Bethesda has promised more than 50 locations to explore.

It’s unclear whether you will need to have completed Starfield in order to dive into the Shattered Space DLC, but the base game is also included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscriptions.

If you want to play the DLC on the day that it is released, then all you have to do is navigate to Starfield’s store page on the Microsoft Store.

If you want to read more about the subscription service, check out how 11 games are leaving Xbox Game Pass next week.

Putin ‘wants Russians to have sex at WORK’ and romp ‘during lunch breaks’ to counter plummeting birth rate

VLADIMIR Putin is telling Russians to start having sex at work in an attempt to counter the plummeting birth rates.

The Kremlin is set to implement a sex-at-work scheme after too many citizens reportedly complained of not having enough time or energy for late night romps.

The plan has been proposed by a health minister after Putin made an urgent demand to increase the number of people having babies.

It will see staff allowed to get it on during their lunch and coffee breaks in peace.

Bosses have even been told to encourage all midday romps.

Russian Doctor Yevgeny Shestopalov is pushing for the scheme to be implemented and sees it as a way to stop “lame excuses”.

He said: “Being very busy at work is not a valid reason, but a lame excuse.

“You can engage in procreation during breaks, because life flies by too quickly.”

Putin has said in the past that “the fate of Russia depends on how many of us there will be”.

Calling the huge push for more babies a “question of national importance”.

Give birth, give birth and give birth again, you need to give birth

Zhanna RyabtsevaRussian MP

Blinkered politician Tatyana Butskaya, 49, has even drawn up a blueprint plan telling Russian employers to coerce women into having babies.

She said:“Large families are becoming the new elite so [regional] governors should report on the birth rate.

“Each employer should look at their workplace, what is your birth rate?

“This is exactly how we should pose this question, we will monitor it.”

The sex-at-work scheme is just one of many initiatives in Russia aimed at women and couples.

In Moscow, women aged 18 to 40 are being told to attend free fertility checks to assess their “reproductive potential”.

Several regions are even offering students cash rewards if they give birth.

Chelyabinsk is paying any mum under 24 a whopping £8,500 for the birth of their first child.

Karelia has a similar scheme with them paying £850.

A number of prominent Putin politicians have been ordering their residents to think about having children from a young age.

Anna Kuznetsova has demanded women should have their first born before they reach 21 so they can go on to have multiple other children.

As MP Zhanna Ryabtseva has echoed similar thoughts saying women should already be thinking about having kids by the time they reach 18.

She said: “Give birth, give birth and give birth again, you need to give birth.”

Russia’s current fertility rate is just 1.5 children per woman.

This is far below the typical rate of 2.1 which most researchers agree is vital to keep up a stable population.

The population of Russia is expected to take a worrying nosedive over the next 25 years.

Projections say the 144 million population Putin controls as of today will drop to under 130 million by 2050.

Critics say Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is to blame for the shrivelling birth rate.

Almost 640,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since the fighting started in February 2022, according to Ukraine.

This has torn families apart with fathers and husbands yet to return home.

The uncertainties of war are also said to be scaring young couples away from starting a family.

Who are Putin's children?

THE official number of Vlad's offspring is two, according to the Kremlin.

These are a pair of daughters, Maria Vorontsova, 39, and Katerina Tikhonova, 37.

Both come from his previous marriage to ex-first lady Lyudmila Putina.

Their marriage lasted 30 years, spanning Mr Putin’s rapid rise to the top of Russia’s political system.

Tikhonova started as an acrobatic dancer in her younger years before she went on to spearhead a major new Russian artificial intelligence initiative.

Vorontsova has built a career in medical research, is an expert on dwarfism and married to a Dutch businessman, Jorrit Faassen.

But, independent journalists recently confirmed Putin has a number of other hidden children.

Two sons, Ivan, nine and Vladimir, five, have reportedly grown up with the tyrant and his longterm lover Alina Kabaeva, 41.

They have already confirmed another daughter, Luiza, 21, born from an extra-marital relationship with a cleaner turned millionaire.

The Wizard of Wishaw became the second player ever to reach an incredible milestone[/caption]

His opponent even joined in with the applause of the crowd after Higgins’ heroics.

He has become just the second player ever to reach the milestone, which comes 32 years into his professional career.

Higgins is a four-time world champion with 13 career maximums to his name.

The 49-year-old has also been world number one on four separate occasions.

However, he can now add 1,000 career centuries to his record after a pair of ton breaks against Allen in Essex.

After an earlier 108, Higgins potted the black for a 105 in the fifth frame to reduce his opponent’s lead to 3-2.

The crowd immediately rose to their feet to applaud Higgins, who raised his hand in acknowledgement.

He could also be seen grinning after sitting in his chair, whilst Allen joined the crowd in clapping the Scottish cueist.

Higgins is the second player to achieve the feat after Ronnie O’Sullivan.

The Rocket has 1,272 to his name across his illustrious professional career, which also started back in 1992.

The rules of snooker

THE aim of snooker is to clear the table of all balls - and achieving it in an incredible 147 break is the ultimate goal.

The rectangular table features green baize, a baulk line and semi-circle, known as the D.

It has six pockets, four in each corner and two midway down both long sides.

There are 15 red balls which are arranged in a triangular shape.

There are also six colour balls, and the white cue ball.

Each colour sits on its own designated spot at the start of the game.

While red balls are worth one point when potted, the colours all have a different value.

In ascending order these are:

  • Yellow – two points
  • Green – three points
  • Brown – four points
  • Blue – five points
  • Pink – six points
  • Black – seven points

The first player will cue off and must hit at least one of the red balls in the triangle.

If they pot a red, they can then continue by potting a colour.

However, if no red is potted then their opponent will play the next shot – going for a red first.

Each player must first pot a red ball when it’s their turn to play. If nothing is pocketed it is the other player’s turn at the table.

After each red is potted they must then follow with a colour, then a red, then a colour, and so on.

Whilst there are still red balls on the table, the potted colour balls are returned to their designated spot.

Once all the red balls are pocketed, the player at the table must pot the colours in the order as outlined above.

If they miss then their opponent will have the opportunity to clear the table.

A 147 is a maximum break when all reds are potted by one player in one stint at the table.

In order to achieve 147, the player must pot all 15 reds with 15 blacks for 120 points.

They must then clear all the colours, concluding with the black for 27 points.

During play the rules state that the cue must only touch the white cue ball.

The cue ball also must hit the correct colour ball – reds or colours in order.

If it hits the incorrect colour then a foul is called.

If the cue ball fails to hit any ball or is pocketed it is also a foul.

The player’s turn at the table ends if they play a foul shot.

Players are also penalised if they touch any ball on the table with their person.

As well as reaching the 1,000 centuries milestone, the world number 16 also pulled of a stunning double kiss during the fourth frame.

Although he went on to lose 4-3, Higgins was proud of his achievement after the match.

He explained: “It’s a good achievement. I’ve played this game for so long to get to that milestone. You have to be proud of that.

“I’m really proud. To be honest, I wanted to get there before Judd. I thought that I have a 14 year head start on him.

“It is good to be second to Ronnie O’Sullivan, the best ever. Judd will obviously go on and probably eclipse Ronnie’s century record.

Top 5 century makers

  1. Ronnie O’Sullivan – 1,272
  2. John Higgins – 1,000
  3. Judd Trump – 998
  4. Neil Robertson – 948
  5. Mark Selby – 835

“I said to Mark that I was glad it was against an unbelievable player. I wouldn’t have liked it to be out the back on table four against a guy ranked 100. It was great to be on the main stage against him.

“We have shared some unbelievable battles over the years and that was another one.”

World number one Judd Trump could reach the milestone this week and currently sits on 998.

He took to social media to congratulate Higgins, writing on X: “Congratulations to John Higgins for making 1,000 centuries… what a career!!”

The Ace in the Pack faces Wu Yize in the quarter-finals at the Brentwood Centre on Friday.

Meanwhile, Allen’s reward for beating Higgins is a meeting with Chris Wakelin for a place in the last four.

Boxing fans spot Daniel Dubois’ funny social media gaffe as they compare it to ex-Premier League star’s iconic tweet

BOXING fans spotted Daniel Dubois’ funny social media gaffe – drawing comparisons to an ex-Premier League star’s iconic tweet.

Dubois traded verbal jabs with Anthony Joshua at a press conference just days before their world title fight.

Boxing fans spotted Daniel Dubois’ funny social media gaffe

And he was quick to let fans know the talking is all done now – although that message may not have actually come from him.

Dubois posted a picture of himself with the caption: “Here’s a strong and engaging caption for the final press conference post:

“The final press conference is done – the talking stops here. Now, it’s time to let the fists do the talking. I’m ready for this fight. Let’s go.”

It appears Dubois accidentally forgot to delete the suggestion – leaving fans hailing him.

One said: “I think Daniel is secretly a stand up comedian and he’s got us all on toast!”

Another added: “This could be an accident or it could be deliberate: either way it is very, very funny.”

One said: “I now like him more.”

Another referenced Victor Anichebe’s infamous 2016 tweet.

The former Sunderland striker posted online: Can you tweet something like: “Unbelievable support yesterday and great effort by the lads! Hard result to take! But we go again!”

Dubois also had those in attendance at the press conference in laughter after an awkward exchange with Joshua.

Both were probed on their heated clash two months ago when AJ threatened to wrap a chair around Dubois’ face.

Joshua, 34, explained: “He said, ‘Let’s go now.’ I clicked for a minute, I said, ‘What does he mean by that?’

“And then he repeated it again. And I just feel like anyone in here…”

Dubois, 27, interrupted and said: “It’s boxing. This is what happens this is boxing. These things happen so we’re fighting Saturday. Let’s go.”

Joshua, drawing a laugh from the crowd, continued: “So as I was saying.

Joshua vs Dubois fight predictions

THIS weekend Wembley will witness one of the biggest all-British fights of all-time.

But who will emerge victorious under the famous arch? Some of the biggest names in boxing have been having their say…

Oleksandr Usyk: “My favourite is Anthony Joshua but I am very bad at predictions. But I will predict Anthony Joshua.”

Dillian Whyte: “I just think that it’s one of those fights where it is a genuine 50/50 fight in my opinion.”

Joe Joyce: “I was initially edging with Joshua but I don’t know, Dubois is coming on.”

Frazer Clarke: “As heavy-handed as Dubois is and as good a fighter as he’s becoming, I still have to go for Joshua.”

Francis Ngannou: “Even though Joshua lost against Usyk twice and Dubois fought Usyk and almost knocked him down and almost won, I would still give this to Joshua.”

“At the press conference you should never let anyone take an inch because they’ll end up taking a mile. Know what I mean, Dan?”

A confused Dubois replied: “Sorry?”

Further tension was caused when the infamous sparring session between the pair was brought up.

AJ has been forced to deny he was floored by Dubois many years ago but conceded he was shaken by a left hook.

Joshua said: “He cracked me with a great shot and it’s my chance to get him back on Saturday.

“I’m looking forward to it. We sparred hundreds of rounds, innit?”

Dubois said: “It’s sparring. Now we’re fighting, it’s different. Move on now. We can move on now. Move on.”

The defending champion has been without head trainer Don Charles, leading to rumours they have sensationally split just days before the bout.

But Dubois and his camp insist Charles is actually ill with the flu and is expected to be in the corner come fight night.

Dubois said: “Everything’s good. As long as he’s in my corner on fight night. Everything’s gone well, training camp’s gone brilliant. Let’s go.”
