LUCY Beaumont joked about a divorce from Jon Richardson a YEAR before the couple revealed that they had split.
The actress, 40, made the remark during an appearance on Channel 4′s Eight Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown in 2023.
Host Jimmy Carr introduced team captain Jon to viewers and then his team, which consisted of wife Lucy.
Jimmy brutally said: “Lucy and Jon are married.
“So I know Lucy, everyone watching at home is dying to know… What made you decide to settle?”
Lucy joked: “I don’t see this for life.”
She added: “Isn’t it a song – just passing through? Is it?”
Jimmy questioned: “Just passing through?”
She continued: “You meet in your life old souls, new souls… A***holes.”
The funny woman then pointed out that they’d “had a lovely life together”, and joked she’d never had an avocado before meeting Jon.
Lucy said: “Who knows what will happen in the future.”
Jon then chimed in: “Are you breaking up now?”
The two revealed that they had split after nine years of marriage back in April.
In a statement, they said: “After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.
“As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being.
Over the years Jon and Lucy have appeared in a number of TV shows.
Their own Dave programme Meet The Richardsons premiered in 2016 and there have been five successful series.
Last year Lucy opened up about what it was like working with her partner.
She previously said: “‘We like working together and enjoy Meet The Richardsons and we really wanted to make something that people could relate to.
“Meet The Richardsons is basically an excuse for us to channel tensions into comedy and you see that in the studio, someone might start saying something thinking they’re going to land a blow but as soon as us and the audience start laughing at them, they realise it’s all nonsense.”
The pair started dating in 2013 after Roisin Conaty introduced them.
They tied the knot in 2015.
Lucy and Jon share a daughter called Elsie Louise, who Lucy gave birth to in 2016.
The former couple have starred in a number of telly programmes over the years.
Some include mockumentary Meet The Richardsons and Jon & Lucy’s Odd Couples.

3 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on People are raging as bride turns her grandma’s vintage wedding dress into a ‘Shein two-piece’ for rehearsal day stunt
A BRIDE has left people raging after showing how she turned her grandma’s vintage wedding dress into a “Shein two-piece”.
Brittany shared a video of herself greeting her grandmother as she walked into her wedding rehearsal.
The TikTok clip showed the older woman gasping in astonishment and shouting “Oh my God!” as she saw her granddaughter’s transformation.
She then burst into tears and pulled Brittany in for a tight hug in the church.
Brittany then shared pictures of how the dress had originally looked on her grandmother – a white, puff sleeved, sweetheart neckline fitted pencil-style dress with a huge train.
She had teamed the dress with elbow-length gloves and a puffy veil, along with a pearl necklace and beaming smile.
But changing up the dress for her wedding rehearsal, Brittany chose to have it made into a two-piece outfit.
The top featured the same puffy sleeves and sweetheart neckline, but was made into a cropped top.
And the bottom was turned into a matching miniskirt.
As an extra nod to her grandmother, Brittany wore a pearl bracelet on her wrist, and finished it off with a pair of white open-toe heels.
“3rd generation wedding dress turned into a rehearsal dress,” she captioned the TikTok.
But lots of people in the comments were unimpressed by the transformation.
“Turned it into a Shein two piece,” one wrote.
“My mum would get so mad if I cut her dress,” another added.
“I would be crying too, she chopped up her dress,” a third commented.
“I would be devastated, it looks so cheap now,” someone else said.
“Shorten it yes, but making it a 2 piece no,” another wrote.
“Bro if I was granny I’d be absolutely heated,” someone else said.
Wedding Dress Trends 2024
Sophie Creed, bridal designer and founder of bridal brand e&w Couture shared the most popular wedding dress designs for this year.
Sustainable Chic
Bridal fashion in 2024 is embracing a powerful shift towards sustainability, with brides looking closely at what fabrics are being used to make the dresses.
Many brides are also looking to wear a second-hand dress or a vintage number.
Boho Bliss
The bohemian aesthetic is effortless and laid-back elegance – ideal for relaxed weddings. Whether in a garden, on a beach, or under the stars, the boho trend is also great for nature-inspired weddings.
Couples opting for outdoor venues, and bohemian-inspired dresses with flowing silhouettes, floral lace, and whimsical details with blend in with the natural setting. It’s about bringing the romance of the outdoors into the wedding wardrobe.
Bohemian-inspired dresses often feature vintage-inspired lace, flowing sleeves, and ethereal details that stand the test of time.
Satin Elegance
Satin wedding dresses are capturing the hearts of brides who appreciate the marriage of modern simplicity and classic luxury.
This trend suits weddings that prioritize an elegant, refined aesthetic, making it an ideal choice for formal celebrations, chic city weddings, or any event where the bride envisions herself in a gown that exudes sophistication and grace.
Bold Romance
Oversized and bold modern showcase a shift in bridal fashion.
This trend is for the bride who dares to be different, breaking away from tradition and embracing a vibrant, contemporary aesthetic on the most important day of her life.
“You cut her wedding dress in half,” another raged.
“I wouldn’t have cut it into 2 pieces,” someone else insisted.
“You can alter it to be the more current style but now the next generation doesn’t have a dress…….”
“You can hear how sad she was seeing her dress unexpectedly mutilated in front of her,” another sighed.
“That was a priceless heirloom, I couldn’t do something like that,” someone else said.
However, others defended Brittany for the transformation, with one writing: “Y’all saying that it’s crazy she cut it two but let alone she turned a wedding dress into just a rehearsal dress!”
“This is so sweet and RESPECTFULLY everyone in the comments saying how *they* wouldn’t have cut the dress that much can just shush,” another said.
“‘I couldn’t cut it’ okay??” a third said.
“It’s not y’all’s choice. obviously the previous generations reaction was excited. much love girly, you look so beautiful.”
“As a mother I would live for the upycle and support fully,” someone else wrote.
“Realistically if it’s the 3rd gen I wouldn’t be mad it got cut, fashion changes. I’d just be happy seeing it kept in the family!” another added.

He broke a record set by Wayne Rooney to become the highest-scoring Englishman in Champions League history[/caption]
Kane said he was ‘delighted’ to be in the same conversation as Rooney[/caption]
And in the process he became the highest-scoring Englishman in Champions League history.
Manchester United legend Rooney previously held the title having scored 30 goals in the competition.
But Kane equalled that record with his first strike of the evening.
The England captain went on to score thrice more, taking his overall Champions League tally up to 33 goals.
And he achieved the feat in just 45 games – 40 less than Rooney.
Following the match, Kane told Amazon Prime: “Whenever you’re in a conversation with Wayne Rooney, it means you’re doing something well.
“He’s one of the greatest English players and one of the best players there was in the game.
The striker continued: “It’s the first time I’ve ever had three penalties in one game. It was a different feeling for me, but to score four goals is fantastic.
“To help the team in any way possible is important. Whether they’re penalties or normal finishes, I’ll take them all. It was a great night for us.
“I keep all the balls after hat-tricks. The lads might be sick of signing them, but keep them coming.
“My son Louis, he loves playing football right now. He’s only three, but I’ll take it home and put it next to his bed and he’ll be happy when he wakes up in the morning.”
He also took to social media to write: “Not a bad night in the Champions League! One to remember and another ball to take home! Let’s keep it going boys!!”
3 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on Martin Lewis’ urgent warning to anyone on ESA, tax credits or housing benefit – if you ignore your payments could stop
MARTIN Lewis has issued an urgent warning to those receiving three specific benefits, who are at risk of having their payments stopped.
The founder of MoneySavingExpert.com explained why those claiming employment and support allowance, tax credits and housing benefit need to act.
Since July 2022, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has asked nearly 1.14million people to switch to Universal Credit[/caption]
This warning comes as the government continues its efforts to transition all two million claimants on legacy benefits to Universal Credit by the end of March 2025 through a process known as managed migration.
Universal Credit was set up to replace legacy benefits and the process to transition kicked off in November 2022 after a successful pilot in July 2019.
Martin said: “On tax credits, housing benefit, ESA or similar? Don’t ignore crucial letter – you could lose your benefits.
“The Department for Work and Pensions is sending letters to many people saying you must now apply to switch to Universal Credit.
“Don’t ignore it – tragically, DWP stats show a third have had benefits cut off after not applying.
These notices provide instructions on how to switch to Universal Credit, as the transition is not automatic.
It’s crucial for households to apply for Universal Credit within three months of receiving their migration notice.
Failing to do so can result in their benefits being stopped.
Since July 2022, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has sent nearly 1.14million migration notices.
However, according to the DWP’s latest figures, 284,660 individuals lost their benefits after failing to act on migration notices received between July 2022 and June 2024.
Some 623,310 individuals have since made successful claims for Universal Credit, and another 232,830 are still in the process of transitioning.
Earlier this week, The Sun revealed that around 171,750 households receiving tax credits, who were sent migration notices between November 2022 and December 2023, have had their benefits stopped.
Top bosses at charities, including Mind, The Trussell Trust, Turn2Us and the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, said in 2022 that around 700,000 with mental health problems, learning disabilities, and dementia could struggle to engage with the process.
More than 20 organisations have called on the government to halt managed migration to fix flaws in the system that could cause those at risk to fall through.
Which benefits are stopping?
UNIVERSAL Credit is replacing six benefits under the old welfare system, commonly called legacy benefits. They are:
Working tax credit
Child tax credit
Income-based jobseeker’s allowance
Income support
income-related employment and support allowance
Housing benefit
If you’re on any of these benefits now, you can choose to move over – but you might not be better off.
You should consider carefully what moving over means for your money, as you can’t move back once you’re on Universal Credit.
Using an online benefits calculator, which is free and easy to use from charities such as Turn2Us and EntitledTo, can help you compare.
You may be moved to Universal Credit if your circumstances change, such as moving home, changing your working hours, or having a baby.
But eventually everyone will be moved over to Universal Credit under the managed migration process.
MANAGED MIGRATION PROGRESS
In January, the government announced the number of migration notices it plans to send out in the coming financial year.
Before this date, the focus was sending migration notices to households claiming tax credits only.
However, 110,000 income support claimants and a further 120,000 claiming tax credits with housing benefit started receiving their letters in April.
Over 100,000 housing benefit-only claimants were contacted in June.
More than 90,000 people claiming employment and support allowance (ESA) along with child tax credits started being asked to switch in July.
Meanwhile, 20,000 claimants on jobseekers allowance (JSA) will be contacted from September.
AROUND 1.4million people on legacy benefits will be better off after switching to Universal Credit, according to the government.
A further 300,000 would see no change in payments, while around 900,000 will be worse off under Universal Credit.
Of these, around 600,000 are expected to get top-up payments if they move under managed migration, so they don’t lose out on cash immediately.
The majority of those – around 400,000 – are claiming employment support allowance (ESA).
Around 100,000 are on tax credits while fewer than 50,000 each on other legacy benefits are expected to be affected.
Examples of those who may be entitled to less on Universal Credit according to the government include:
Households getting ESA who and the severe disability premium and enhanced disability premium
Households with the lower disabled child addition on legacy benefits
Self-employed households who are subject to the Minimum Income Floor after the 12 month grace period has ended
In-work households that worked a specific number of hours (e.g. lone parent working 16 hours claiming working tax credits
Households receiving tax credits with savings of more than £6,000 (and up to £16,000)
But if they don’t switch in the future, they’ll risk missing out on any future increase to benefits and see payments frozen.
Those who move voluntarily and are worse off won’t get these top-up payments and could lose cash.
Those who miss the deadline and later make a claim may also not get this transitional protection either.
The clock starts ticking on the three-month countdown from the date of the first letter, and reminders are sent via post and text message.
There is a one-month grace period after this, during which any claim to Universal Credit is backdated, and transitional protection can still be awarded.

A MILLIONAIRE mum accused of being the first person to spread a false claim about the Southport suspect will face no further action.
Bernadette Spofforth allegedly shared a post claiming an asylum seeker was behind the triple killing of three young girls.
Bernadette Spofforth was allegedly the first to spread false rumours about the Southport suspect[/caption]
The 55-year-old was also accused of posting an incorrect name for the suspect and claimed he arrived in Britain by boat last year.
The false information sparked riots across the country – with Spofforth later admitting the mistake had “destroyed” her.
She was arrested by Cheshire Police at her home and held for 36 hours before being bailed on August 10.
The force has today confirmed she is facing no further action “due to insufficient evidence”.
Millionaire fashion boss Spofforth released a statement revealing police told her about the development on September 5.
She said: “I’ve been unable to comment on this until now because, under the terms of my bail conditions, I faced being rearrested and locked up in a cell again if I used social media.”
The mum also told how she had shared a tweet, which she later deleted, and apologised as soon as she realised it was incorrect.
She added: “As has now been shown, the idea that one single tweet could be the catalyst for the riots which followed the atrocities in Southport is simply not true.
“Yet, despite repeatedly insisting I’d done nothing illegal, the police dragged me from my home and held me for 36 hours in a cell.
“What I’ve experienced over the past few weeks is nothing in comparison to the suffering of the tragic victims in Southport. And I’m not trying to compare the two.
“But I am just an ordinary person with ordinary opinions and I think it’s important that the public should know how ordinary people can be treated.
“The nightmare my family and I have lived through over the past month could happen to anyone. And in Britain in 2024 that’s unacceptable.”
Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were knifed to death at a Taylor Swift dance class on July 29.
Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, who lives in Banks, Lancashire, but is originally from Cardiff, has been charged over the attack.
Spofforth is understood to have written: “Ali Al-Shakati was the suspect, he was an asylum seeker who came to the UK by boat last year and was on an MI6 watch list.
“If this is true, then all hell is about to break loose.”
Spofforth claimed she had been ‘destroyed’ by the post[/caption]
Mum-of-three Spofforth’s false claim spread rapidly on social media, where it was allegedly boosted by Russian trolls.
It was also shared by far-right agitators like Tommy Robinson and Andrew Tate.
She later said she was “mortified” by the riots that erupted after the misinformation swelled online.
The mum also denied making it up and claimed she had received the details from “somebody in Southport”.
Spofforth added: “My post had nothing to do with the violence we’ve seen across the country. But I acknowledge that it may have been the source for the information used by a Russian news website.”
She also told The Times it was a “spur-of-the-moment ridiculous thing to do” that had “literally destroyed me”.
The millionaire continued: “It was just a mistake. I did a really stupid, stupid thing, I copied and pasted it from what I saw, and I added the line ‘if this is true’.”
Riots gripped the UK in a week of carnage as mosques were attacked, shops looted, cars fire-bombed and police injured by bricks.
Hundreds have appeared in court for their part in the violence – with a 12-year-old boy yesterday becoming the youngest rioter to be sentenced.
Cheshire Police told The Sun Online: “A woman who was arrested in relation to an inaccurate social media post has been released without charge.
“The 55-year-old woman from near Chester was arrested on Thursday 8 August following allegations in relation social media post containing inaccurate information about the identity of the attacker in the Southport murders.
“Following a thorough investigation, a decision has been made that no further action will be taken due to insufficient evidence.”
