‘I’m gonna cry, I need this!’ people scream as cult Noughties designer brings back iconic bag… but only in the UK

ICONIC Noughties brand Juicy Couture is bringing back its most famous bag.

Once a beloved style amongst Hollywood’s finest like Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears, the Daydreamer was a cult piece.

Fortunately for British fashionistas, the nostalgic style is only available in the UK[/caption]

And now, over two decades since it burst onto the scene, Juicy Couture bosses are bringing it back.

It is set to hit shelves again TOMORROW – and it’s exclusive to the UK.

The Juicy Couture Daydreamer Bag became iconic in the Noughties due to its role in defining the It-girl aesthetic.

The use of plush fabrics (like velour and terry cloth) were a signature look for Juicy Couture, matching its famous tracksuits.

Fashion critics at the time felt that this gave the bag a casual yet luxe feel, making it a go-to Y2K piece.

The design was also logo-centric.

It had an oversized ‘Juicy Couture’ emblazoned on the side which made it a status symbol, especially among young women who were influenced by celebrity culture.

This logo-heavy design was also part of the Noughties trend of brand names being boldly displayed.

And let’s not forget: the Daydreamer came with girly embellishments like oversized bows and bling charms.

The bag’s UK exclusive return has ruffled feathers across the pond.

“Why doesn’t America get any of this?” one shopper moaned on TikTok.

“It’s ridiculous Juicy Couture is proudly made in the US but only giving the good stuff to the Brits,” another slammed.

How to nab a Juicy Couture Daydreamer

The all-new Juicy Couture Daydreamers go on sale tomorrow at 8am on the brand’s website.

Bosses have teased that there will be four colours, but won’t reveal what those actually are.

The Rise and Fall of Juicy Couture

In the early Noughties, Juicy Couture became synonymous with the glamorous, laid-back lifestyle of Hollywood celebrities.

It was founded in 1997 by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor – but when the brand introduced their velour tracksuit a few years later, it struck gold.

It became a status symbol for Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and Britney Spears.

With its bold “Juicy” logo emblazoned across the back, the tracksuit became a cultural phenomenon, cementing the brand as a Y2K fashion staple.

Soon enough, it expanded into handbags, fragrances and accessories.

But as fashion trends shifted away from logo-heavy, athleisure wear, Juicy Couture’s iconic look began to fall out of favor.

It struggled to evolve with changing tastes and was sold multiple times between 2003 and 2013.

Juicy Couture’s retail presence dwindled, and by 2014, nearly all its standalone stores were closed.

That’s until Y2K fashion became cool again.

The velour tracksuits reared their glamorous head again in 2020, with It-girl stores like Urban Outfitters and JD stocking them.

Now, Juicy Couture is slowly building its authority in the mid-range luxury space, all while capitalising on Gen-Z’s appetite to dress like their mums and dads did in the Nineties and Noughties.

The price is yet to be confirmed, too.

However, some shoppers claim they’ve found renditions of the style in TK Maxx already.

“I got this exact one the other day,” one fashionista claimed under Juicy Couture’s announcement video.

“It was in a TK Maxx in Glasgow.

“I’ve seen a few other people get them from TK Maxx recently too.”

A second claimed she picked up one of the styles in her local off-price retailer last Wednesday.

“I didn’t even know they existed, so I was shocked to see like four of them,” she wrote.

“I’m regretting not getting the other colours now.”

Romeo Beckham, 22, sneaks out of vodka party with Scott Disick’s model ex – days after ‘date’ with blonde influencer

ROMEO Beckham has been spotted sneaking away from a boozy bash with reality TV star Scott Disick’s ex – days after a “date” with a blonde influencer.

The Sun’s exclusive images show the footballer, 22, heading into a black cab with American model Amelia Gray Hamlin, 23, following a London Fashion Week event.

Amelia, who dated Kardashians star Scott from 2020 to 2021, oozed elegance in a black oversized leather blazer, with matching leotard and heels.

They were seen walking down the street before hopping into the vehicle, which headed to Twenty Two Hotel in London‘s trendy Mayfair district.

They seemed content in each others company as they were joined by a male and female pal.

Amelia is the daughter of US TV star Lisa Rinna and actor Harry Hamlin.

Self-styled Lord Scott faced a slew of criticism during their time together, and was even branded “sick” due to their age difference.

The Hulu star was 37 and Amelia 19 when they started dating – before he revealed why he “only dates young girls.”

Meanwhile, Romeo’s antics come just days after the former Brentford player was seen with another American model.

He sported a baseball cap and jersey as he took talent manager and influencer Sophie Julia on a date to London’s Chiltern Firehouse on Friday.

Our exclusive images showed David and Victoria’s middle son hopping into a car with his potential love interest at 1am on Saturday after an evening inside the trendy nightspot.

They are believed to have met on celebrity dating app Raya.

We reported how Romeo had joined the site last month.

This weekend, a source told The Sun: “Romeo looked like he was really enjoying himself on Saturday evening.

“He met up with Sophie Julia at Chiltern Firehouse and they were deep in conversation for ages.

“Clearly it went well because they jumped in a cab together at the end of the evening. Whether they have a future together, who knows, as she is just visiting London for work from Los Angeles.

“But he is having fun and eager to get back into the dating game.”

Sophie Julia isn’t a celeb, but she has made a name for herself as an influencer, with 78,000 Instagram followers including model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Romeo and Mia split in February.

At the time, Mia wrote on Instagram: “Love takes different forms & paths as you mature.

“We aren’t together romantically but we do share lots & lots of love for one another . . . after five years we friend-zoned each other — heheh.”

I’m an ex-Mossad agent – Israel launched spy movie pager plot to lure Hezbollah into war…& destroy them once and for all

AN EX-Mossad agent says Israel’s pager plot could be inspired by a spy film and the country is goading Hezbollah into starting a war.

Nearly 3,000 people were injured yesterday and 12 were killed in the sabotage attack leaving Lebanon in chaos and hospitals full of bloodied and injured.

One ex-Mossad agent believes Israel is trying to provoke Hezbollah into a war[/caption] a poster titled pager sabotage shows a map of the world

Avner Avraham claims Israel is directly challenging Hezbollah to start a war in retaliation, so it can then invade Lebanon and wipe them out.

Avraham says the chess move attack was Israel saying: “Don’t mess with us”.

He said: “The attack yesterday was so strong and wide if they [Hezbollah] do start a limited war, they will lose immediately.

“In the north, we have to start a limited war and we prefer that Hezbollah would make the first mistake.

“The response would be a huge damage to Lebanon, it would go 100 years back.”

But, the 28-year spy veteran says Hezbollah has been left weak with so many people injured and Lebanon plunged into chaos.

“Now they don’t have a different kind of communication system, all their hospitals are full with injured people, this is the best time to attack them.”

Avraham said he believed Israel needed to attack Lebanon and create a “dead zone” inside the country where nobody lived.

That buffer would provide safety for the Israelis living in the north of the country – tens of thousands of whom have been displaced since fighting began last year.

Avraham also said it is possible that the attack could have been inspired by gadgets used in spy films, something he did as an agent.

“Sometimes we use examples ideas from James Bond films, we took ideas, I can tell you this for sure.

He said: “No one could write the script for yesterday. This is the real example of thinking outside the box… All the world saw what happened yesterday, this is the money time.

“If Mossad is doing something and wants to declare it, they will declare it… In all cases they just do it and disappear.

“That’s the whole idea, you don’t know who is responsible for this, you don’t have any idea.

BAC Consulting in Budapest designed and manufactured the pagers[/caption] a diagram showing the stages of the pager plot

He said that it is likely only trusted Hezbollah members and the group’s associates had the pagers.

The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon was injured in the blast in an embarrassing situation for the Islamic Republic.

“Think about the fact you don’t give these pagers to the house keeper or the one that cleans the cars in the parking area you give it to the people that have a position.

“Sometimes the effect is stronger than killing one terrorist. Think of the thousands of them that can’t sleep in the same bed day after day.”

Avraham said the timing of the attack was also important, with the first anniversary of October 7 only weeks away.

“We didn’t start this war. We didn’t ask for this war.”

Hezbollah blamed Israeli spies for allegedly booby-trapping the pagers with explosives – vowing to deliver “just punishment”.

In a statement, Hezbollah said: “We hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal aggression.

“Israel will certainly receive its just punishment for this sinful aggression.”

A Hezbollah source said the pagers were “brand new” and had not been used by fighters before.

The pagers started heating up and then exploding in people’s hands or pockets at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The blasts left blood-splattered scenes sent bystanders running for cover.

The attack comes as Israel has expanded its war plans away from Gaza to secure the north of the country.

The country’s leaders added a new goal to its list of three primary post-October 7 war aims: “The safe return of the residents of the north to their homes”.

Defence chief Yoav Gallant warned the new objective could only be achieved by “military” action.

The announcement paves the way for the first full-scale invasion of southern Lebanon since 2006 in a drive to push back the terror group and allow Israelis to return home.

Prime Minister Netanyahu added “it will not be possible to return our residents without a fundamental change in the security situation in the north”.

One plan being considered by Israeli war chiefs is a move to occupy a buffer zone inside southern Lebanon.

Where did the pagers come from?

By James Halpin, Foreign News Reporter

Iranian proxy Hezbollah ordered the pagers months ago but never thought the quaint piece of tech could be tampered with.

Hezbollah shifted to pagers after the group’s leader told members to stop using phones in February over fears they could be tracked by Israeli spies.

A senior Lebanese security source said the group had ordered 5,000 beepers made by Taiwan-based Gold Apollo, which were brought into the country in the spring.

But Gold Apollo told media in Taipei today the specific order was manufactured by BAC Consulting KFT in Budapest.

Gold Apollo boss Hsu Ching-kuang said BAC asked to manufacture their own pagers with the company’s trademark and they were paid from a mystery Middle Eastern bank account, NPR reports.

BAC Consulting chief executive Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono confirmed to media that her company worked with Gold Apollo.

But said, “I don’t make the pagers. I am just the intermediate.”

At some point during the manufacture, the devices were modified by Israel’s spy service with a small amount of explosive.

The AR-924 pager is described as being “rugged” and contains a rechargeable lithium battery with 85 days of battery life.

Their longevity would be important in Lebanon which has suffered major power outages.

Pagers also run on a different wireless network than mobile phones, making them more resilient in emergencies and harder for Israel to hack digitally.

The affected pagers were only delivered to Hezbollah recently, but other associates of the group were also injured, including the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon.

Major energy firm giving away 20,000 FREE electric blankets this winter – can you get the help?

ENERGY company giving away free electric blankets to their most vulnerable customers as the nights draw longer and colder.

Octopus Energy, a renewable energy group specialising in sustainable energy, is giving away 20,000 free electric blankets.

a person laying under a blanket holding a remote control
There are also other support initiatives you should know about

Since its launch back in January 2022, Octopus Energy has already distributed 60,000 free electric blankets to those who need them most.

Earlier this week, retailer John Lewis reported a 173% increase in sales of electric blankets year-on-year.

Electric blankets are an efficient and effective means for a person to heat themselves up.

You can pick up an electric blanket from Amazon for as little as £25.

But if your planning on splashing out, there are options that break the hundred pound mark.

It’s not the first time that the energy firm has given away money saving gadgets to help customers.

How to get your own free blanket?

Anyone can apply for their own electric blanket through Octopus Energy’s £30 million Octo Assist Fund, as long as they’re a customer of the firm.

The freebie isn’t on a first come first serve basis either, but priority will be given to customers in certain circumstances, such as those that are medically vulnerable, elderly or living alone.

To see whether you’re eligible, Octopus Energy says customers can apply here.

The energy group insists that anyone who is concerned about paying their winter bills should not hesitate to get in touch.

Mario Lupori, director at Octopus Energy Group, says: “We know many people are worried about the costs of heating their homes over winter.

“An electric blanket means you heat the human, not the home – staying warm for as little as 3p an hour.

“We’ve got 20,000 more blankets this year to give out to our most vulnerable customers and we’re delighted that they will help them stay warm.”

What other support can you get this winter?

Winter Fuel Payment

When looking for more strings to add to your bow, the Winter Fuel Payment could be an option if you were born before September 23, 1958.

For those aged between 66 and 79 you can expect to receive £200 to help with your heating bills, while those aged 80 or over will receive £300.

Cold Weather Payments

While many despair at the thought of the average temperature being zero degrees Celsius for seven consecutive days, there is a silver lining.

In some cases, you may be eligible to receive a Cold Weather Payment. This is available to people who receive certain benefits or support for mortgage interest.

Grants from energy suppliers

In some cases, energy suppliers are offering grants to people in debt, and you don’t always need to be a customer to apply.

British Gas injected £20 million into the British Gas Energy Trust over the summer to help struggling customers.

Fuel Bank Foundation

The Fuel Bank Foundation is a charity that offers emergency financial support and advice to people who pre-pay for fuel and have run out of credit.
