A POSTCODE lottery winner explained how he was within inches of losing £320K lottery win, but luckily his girlfriend’s crucial advice saved them.
Rachel and Callum from Woodbridge, Suffolk won part of a whopping £3.2m in the Postcode Millions, along with their three neighbours on August 31.
Each ticket was valued at £320,000, and both Rachel and Callum pocketed one.
Plus, another 358 participants in IP12 1 received cheques ranging from £4,020 to £16,080.
Now, Rachel, an excited bride-to-be no longer has to budget for her dream wedding dress.
The mum-of-one could not believe what a month August had been.
“I got proposed to on the 3rd of August, had a birthday on the 23rd and booked our wedding as well for next June – and then winning this.
“They say good things come in threes, but that’s four good things this month. This has been a cool August.
“What am I going to spend the money on? I’m not going to put a limit on my wedding dress.
“I was going to work to a budget, but it can be budget free and I’ll have the dress of my dreams.”
The couple, who have been together for eight years and share a four-year-old son named Harvey, expressed their desire to purchase a larger home.
“We’d like to get a house with a bigger garden and an extra bedroom. We have a little boy, a dog and a cat.
“We love being in Woodbridge, we just need a bit more space,” explained Rachel.
This sizeable win could make their dreams come true, but Callum laughed at how this wouldn’t have happened without taking on board Rachel’s crucial advice.
“You don’t ever think you’ll win big. This is a life-changing amount of money. We’ve only ever won tenners”, said Rachel.
“We’ve been playing for six or seven years. We wanted to do something for charity, so thought we would just try it,” she added.
In response, Callum said: “You told me to do it, so I just did it. Well done for talking me into it.
“This is amazing. I was not expecting that. I’ve got to go back to work later, once I’ve picked myself up off the floor,” he joked.
Another wonderful thing about the Postcode Lottery is that 33 per cent of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes.
For Rachel, this is a win in itself: “Millions of pounds are spent on so many fantastic charities and for the people that play Postcode Lottery, that means a lot.
“It is not just putting on money and wasting it, it is helping people at the same time.
“I’m really happy for everyone that’s won, especially sharing with so many lovely neighbours and so many local people as well.”
So far, a whopping £1.3 billion has been raised by players taking part in the Postcode Lottery and this particular draw was promoted on behalf of Postcode Earth Trust.
Other benefiting charities include National Trust, Friends of the Earth, and Canal and River Trust.
LOVE Island couple Joey Essex and Jessy Potts have split just seven weeks after leaving the villa.
The Love Island stars confirmed the news exclusively to The Sun, with Towie legend Joey, 34, insisting he hopes to stay friends with Jessy, 25.
Joey told us: “Unfortunately, we have decided to call an end to the relationship but I hope we can continue to be friends.
“I truly wish Jessy the very best with whatever she does in the future.”
And Jessy added: “I appreciate the Love Island experience I had with Joey, we tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who supported us and look forward to all of the exciting opportunities ahead.”
Joey and Jessy have battled split rumours since leaving the villa, with their busy schedules meaning they were unable to spend time together.
Today, The Sun revealed Joey is eyeing up a career change and will soon enter a training camp to become a boxer.
A source added: “Joey has always been super busy and things got even more hectic after the villa.
“He’s now going away to boxing camp as well so things were just getting hard.
“Jesy also had her own thing going on and was here, there and everywhere after the show. It was too difficult to keep up with each other.”
Joey is in talks to take on either Tommy Fury, KSI or Jake Paul in a huge, marquee fight in 2025.
An insider explained: “Joey’s always been into his fitness but in recent years has become more and more passionate about boxing.
“Joey is excited about this new venture and looks forward to one day taking on the titans of the ropes.”

STRICTLY star Tasha Ghouri was left on the floor exhausted during her very first week of rehearsals for the hit dancing contest.
The Love Island star uploaded a clip to TikTok which saw her lying on the floor with tiredness after being asked to practice “one more time” by her pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
In the light-hearted social media post, Tasha could be seen shaking her head as Aljaz jokingly instructed for her to keep on practising despite appearing to have been pushed to her limits.
The funny social media clip saw Aljaz insisting Tasha must keep on rehearsing as he lip-synched to a viral audio that made him appear to be saying: “Another one, thank you!”
At another point, Tasha also held her head against the mirror of the rehearsal room after being left worn out by the strict rehearsal routine.
She captioned the clip “when in rehearsals” alongside a series of laughing emojis.
Tasha went on to add: “But on a serious note, I’m loving it.”
Fans were recently left sharing their excitement over Tasha and Aljaz’s pairing.

Before shooting to fame Tasha, 25, was a professional dancer.
However, speaking to The Sun and other media, the star has defended her place in the ballroom.
Tasha said: “When you’re in the studio, the glitterballs and the ballroom floor it’s like a whole new world.
“Commercial dance is very different to ballroom dance and latin, I’m still having to strip down and relearn, even walking in cha cha step is weird to me.”
“Turning your feet out and leading with your hips, I’m having to relearn muscle memory so that’s the hard part.
“Even letting a man take the lead is a lot.”
