I’m 43 & hate under-eye bags… I’ve spent £100s trying to get rid of them so will Victoria Beckham’s £64 concealer work?

WHILE I don’t think I look too bad for my 43 years, my eye bags have always been my number one pet hate.

I have three kids and a busy job as a writer, so sometimes I do feel tired. But no matter how much sleep I get, I feel my face looks permanently exhausted.

She says: ‘I’d love to use this every day but in reality, I can’t afford to’, above after using the concealer[/caption]

I have tried all sorts to cover my dark circles including pricey concealers from top brands Charlotte Tilbury and MAC, plus all manner of eye creams and gels.

I even invested in LED face masks, under-eye gel pads and massage rollers to try to get rid of them.

But no matter how much I spend, those dark circles refuse to budge.

My go-to has become Maybelline Fit Me concealer. It’s cheap and cheerful but although it looks OK when first applied, it quickly wears off.

So when I heard about the revolutionary new concealer pen from Victoria Beckham, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one.

In tests, 100 per cent of triallers agreed it visibly improved the appearance of dark circles, without settling into pores and other imperfections. But, like most of Posh’s products, it doesn’t come cheap.

Costing an eye-watering £64 for 2.4ml, it begs the question: is any concealer really worth that much?

Right now, celebrity beauty brands are big business.

Earlier this week, The Sun revealed how actress Selena Gomez has become a billionaire, thanks to the success of her range Rare Beauty.

And there are many other stars, such as Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who all have their own successful make-up lines.

In 2019, VB decided she wanted a slice of the beauty pie and launched Victoria Beckham Beauty.

The Spice Girl, had previously dipped her perfectly manicured toes into the beauty market in 2016, when she collaborated with Estée Lauder and brought out a range of limited-edition skincare and make-up.

So far, Victoria Beckham Beauty is pulling in rave reviews and her Satin Kajal liners (£30 a pop) and Baby-Blade Microfine Brow Pencil (£32) are already firm favourites with beauty editors.

But this latest product launch could prove to be her biggest success to date.

The Concealer Pen, created with Augustinus Bader, the stem cell scientist and founder of his own skincare brand, comes in 16 shades and “light-to-medium coverage”.

It is packed with skincare heroes like Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, which is said to reduce wrinkles, and Polyglutamic Acid, which can boost moisture and elasticity.

Its special formula is said to “improve your complexion in four weeks”. Victoria says: “Imagine a concealer you need less the more you use it.

“The formula easily and quickly camouflages dark circles and spots, but the ingredient technology that is in The Concealer Pen is just as powerful as skincare.

“It acts as a super-nutrient for your skin alongside smooth, brightening coverage that’s not too oily or too drying.”

So, could Posh’s concealer be the answer to my puffy-eyed prayers?

It is very pricey but if it works, I’d be tempted to sneak this into my budget.

I ordered it online after taking the “match my shade” quiz on her website.

You enter the colour of other products you use and it gives you a recommended shade.

I worried that the “M2” shade looked too dark for me online but when it arrived it was perfect.

It acts as a super-nutrient for your skin alongside smooth, brightening coverage that’s not too oily or too drying

Victoria Beckham

It’s medium, with golden undertones. Victoria’s claims sound wonderful, but does it actually work?

The simple answer for me is: yes.

This product is actually seriously impressive.

Using the pen is straightforward and although many brands have done away with this type of click pen, I found it easy to use.

At first, you need to click the button several times until the concealer dispenses on to the brush.

Best one ever

For me, it took so many clicks before it came out that I actually began to worry my Pen was empty.

For best results, you should apply to well-moisturised skin, so I made sure to apply a good coat of a thick Estee Lauder moisturiser before using the concealer.

The brush applicator was fantastic, you could get right up under the lashline and I felt I could grip it well and carefully apply the product.

It was also easy to apply to the right area, which meant I didn’t feel like I was wasting any of this pricey product. I applied it not only under the eyes but also on the eyelid as that area too can sometimes look veiny and dark.

My eye bags are intense and I want them gone but in terms of coverage, this was quite light.

However, I was able to build it up to medium coverage without it looking too cakey.

It concealed the blue discolouration under my eyes and improved the look of my fine lines, too.

If it really will minimise them going forward, even better.

I’d love to use this every day but in reality, I can’t afford to

Lynsey

And if it does the job of a concealer and an eye cream, that makes it slightly more value for money.

The concealer has become a staple in my make-up bag.

It’s great to know it doesn’t only cover up my dark circles but also treats them and makes me look less tired.

It is without a doubt the best concealer I’ve ever used.

I’d love to use this every day but in reality, I can’t afford to. I will have to save this for special, or should I say Posh, occasions.

Expert make-up artist gives her verdict

MAKE-UP artist Lisa Coleman says: “I find the packaging frustrating as you can’t tell how much is left in the tube.

“The colour match online is also a little tricky. If you want to try this product, go to a beauty counter where you can be properly colour matched.

“It’s quite high coverage for under the eyes. It is definitely meant to conceal, rather than reflect light in the same way as a product like YSL Touche Eclat.

“A little goes a long way, so use it sparingly to avoid ageing the face. Overall, it was a great product, but there are lots of high street options, which cost far less and do the same job.

“Shop around and try some testers if you can before investing such a large sum of money.”

So is Posh too pricey? Try these High St versions instead

From Britpop legend’s model son to the boy band star’s actress daughter, can you name these nepo-babies’ famous parents?

THEY dominated the charts in the Nineties and some are bidding to do it again.

But the Kings and Queens of Britpop better watch out – their offspring are the new kids on the block.

Take Emma Pietras’ quiz to match these starlets to their famous parents

These A-list nepo babies are making their mark in showbiz, ruling the worlds of music, fashion and art.

From the Spice baby turned artist to the fitness fanatic who now towers above his boyband star dad, take Emma Pietras’ quiz to match each starlet to their famous parents.

HE looks exactly like his rocker father did when he hit the big time in the Nineties.

But earlier this week, he unveiled his wild transformation as he joined his EastEnders star mum at a London Fashion Week show sporting bleached blond hair.

In April, the 25-year-old recalled how he got into the industry, saying: “At 16, I was walking down the streets of Brick Lane [East London] wearing an army jacket and was stopped by a scouter from an agency.

“When I got home, I told my mum and she gave me some contacts. Before long, I signed a contract with Models 1.”

2

This stunner often posts sweet snaps of her and her dad[/caption]

HER mum is a Nineties It Girl turned entrepreneur who is best friends with Kate Moss, while her dad is one half of one of the world’s biggest bands.

So it perhaps comes as no surprise that this 24-year-old’s career was set to go Supersonic.

The rising star – who went public with her boyfriend, It’s A Sin actor Callum Scott Howells, earlier this year – works as a model and influencer.

She boasts 259,000 Instagram followers and often posts sweet snaps of her and her dad – who even roped her in to film him and the High Flying Birds while they recorded at the studio.

3

This celeb offspring once auditioned for a spot on The Voice[/caption]

ONE of her dad’s biggest hits was a cover of country song When You Say Nothing At All.

But this 23-year-old has made a living out of her voice – just like him.

The Dublin-born brunette is an actress and has competed on Ireland’s Dancing With The Stars, the Irish version of Strictly.

She even secretly auditioned for a spot on The Voice in 2019, thinking her former Irish boy band member dad would disapprove.

However, she failed to make it past the audition round.

Let’s hope her famous father taught her that Life Is A Rollercoaster.

4

This man’s parents are Nineties music legends[/caption]

HIS parents are Nineties legends, so it is little surprise this 23-year-old has followed in their footsteps and forged a career as a DJ.

He says he “doesn’t care” if people call him a nepo-baby, insisting: “My music speaks for itself and I do not have to prove it to anyone.”

The up-and-coming star also appears on Celebrity Gogglebox with his former Nineties ladette turned Radio 2 presenter mum.

And he has claimed that his parents’ wild, all-night parties gave him hearing condition tinnitus at the age of 12.

This star bears a Scary resemblance to her famous Mama[/caption]

HAVING turned her hand to modelling and DJ-ing, she is now a professional artist, so it is fair to say this 25-year-old is no wannabe.

We revealed that she is set to star in a Channel 4 documentary, which follows her and other new artists as they bid to break into the industry.

She also bears a Scary resemblance to her famous Mama – which happens to be the name of a 1996 hit for her mother’s group.

And as a baby, she even appeared in the music video for another of her mum’s Top 20 singles.

This teenager has a pop star parent[/caption]

HE may only be 17, but this lad is no longer a Baby – much like his Spice Girl mum.

His pop star parent, who also shares 13-year-old Tate with her ex-boy band member husband, tends to keep her kids off social media.

But she made an exception when she shared a snap with her eldest to celebrate his 16th birthday last year.

At the time, the teenager also posted his own picture revealing he has a girlfriend and, like him, she has famous parents.

His sweetheart, Grace Freeman, is the daughter of actors Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington.

This star was conceived following her father’s affair with her singer mum[/caption]

HER rock star dad’s band sang Don’t Look Back In Anger, but this 26-year-old seems to be in an Oasis of calm.

Conceived following her father’s affair with her singer mum, she revealed that she is “not bitter” about his 20-year absence from her life.

In 2019, she said: “I don’t have any anger. I’m actually thankful for how I was brought up with my mum and how my life’s been.

“I wouldn’t be who I am now if… it’s all happened the way it was meant to happen. I’m happy to have him now.”

The brunette beauty is a model who kicked off her career at Select Models.

This famous son dwarfs his father[/caption]

WITH his cheeky grin, this lad is the double of his dad when he first rose to fame with one of Britain’s best-loved boy bands.

But the 24-year-old isn’t such a mini-me as, at around 6ft 2in, he dwarfs his 5ft 7in father.

The pair enjoy working out together, and the younger man has won plenty of admirers with his buff body.

HER dad is a Britpop star whose band were Oasis’s nemesis – and this frontman’s 24-year-old daughter is a chip off the old block.

She was spotted in a rare public appearance with her old man at London Fashion Week.

And last year they both looked stylish at the same event in co-ordinated patterned outfits as they attended the Burberry Spring Summer 2024 show.

This starlet often posts artsy shots with ironic captions on her Instagram account, which has 53,000 followers.

In 2021, it was revealed she was running a London homeware store called West Town with her dad.

This 23-year-old now fronts an indie rock outfit himself[/caption]

MUSIC is in this youngster’s blood as his parents featured in two of the most successful groups of the 1990s.

Given his Genes, it is perhaps unsurprising the 23-year-old now fronts an indie rock outfit himself – and is set to support his famous father’s band on tour.

He has already been his dad’s warm-up act when the singer hit the road as a solo artist – but reportedly had to audition to land the gig.

The lad was said to have been named by his All Saints mum after the frontman of US rockers Kiss.

However his dad claims the moniker is actually a nod to the “King of Swing”.

11

AS a member of one of the UK’s biggest-selling girl groups, her famous mum made combat trousers and a cropped vest top an iconic look in the late Nineties and early Noughties.

But this starlet, 25, loves to change her image regularly and has been seen with red, blonde and pink hair.

The budding singer, whose dad is Jamiroquai’s ex-bass player, even studied music at London’s Sylvia Young Theatre School like her chart-topping mum – who performed a Hyde Park gig while pregnant with her daughter.

In 2022, the rising star released music under the name Myrrhmaid.

12

This 19-year-old began following in her father’s showbiz footsteps from a young age[/caption]

HER former pop star dad has nothing to feel Blue about because his daughter is a talented performer.

The 19-year-old began following in her father’s showbiz footsteps from a young age and landed a place at the Royal Ballet School aged 11.

He said at the time: “I couldn’t be more proud. Over 2,000 girls auditioned and there were only 12 places and she got one.”

She is now working as a professional dancer, and has appeared in The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House.

No doubt her famous father will be hollering “All Rise” at the end of her shows.

This 24-year-old bears a striking resemblance to his singer-songwriter dad[/caption]

WITH his long hair and casual sense of style, this 24-year-old bears a striking resemblance to his singer-songwriter dad in his Nineties heyday.

The youngster is also a musician and, much like his father, tries to keep a low profile when not making music.

But the guitarist did join his two-time Ivor Novello-winner parent on stage at the Royal Albert Hall for a performance of his former band’s 1997 hit, Bitter Sweet Symphony, three years ago.

His mum is also in showbiz, having played keyboard for an English rock band formed in 1990.

This celeb ‘nepo-baby’ has followed her mum into modelling[/caption]

HER dad is true rock royalty, but perhaps this 29-year-old just said I Want To Break Free as she has followed her mum into modelling.

The blonde bombshell shared a dorm with supermodel Cara Delevingne at boarding school in Hampshire, worked A Kind Of Magic to get into modelling aged 17, and starred in a sexy lingerie campaign by London brand Bluebella in 2016.

She said at the time: “I am not a super-skinny, 6ft 10in giraffe model, but I am completely comfortable with my body as it is.”

She has revealed she was teased at school for listening to her dad’s band.

Coventry 1 Tottenham 2: Postecoglou’s second season trophy dream still alive after dramatic late comeback win in cup

ANGE POSTECOGLOU loves high-risk football – but surely even this was a bit much for him.

For 88 minutes, the Aussie’s much-changed side stank the place out and looked to be deservedly going out thanks to Brandon Thomas-Asante’s calm finish.

Match Stats

The gamble of making so many switches – EIGHT in total – given the shocking run of seven defeats in 11 games looked to have backfired spectacularly.

But then up popped subs Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson to turn the tie on its head and keep Postecoglou’s chances of backing up his “second season” silverware claim alive.

Postecoglou had reminded the world in the wake of the North London derby defeat to Arsenal that he “always” wins a trophy in his second season, during a spiky TV interview.

He insisted he was merely stating a “fact” during his Tuesday press conference and denied it heaped unnecessary pressure on himself to deliver this term.

But the ex-Celtic boss also admitted his bold statements meant he was “fair game” for flak if he could not back up the big talk.

The quickest route to doing that is by winning the Carabao Cup this season – which was why it felt a mistake to make so many switches to his line-up.

Fraser Forster, in for regular No1 Guglielmo Vicario, looked like a man who had not played in more than a year, which was not a shock as that literally was the case.

The former England stopper’s last appearance came in August 2023, at the same stage of this competition as Spurs lost at Fulham on penalties.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

Postecoglou made nine changes that night too but things were going so well in the league, the dissenting voices were few.

He would have known his choices here, if they did not come off, would draw far more heat.

And when Forster fired a poor pass to 18-year-old Lucas Bergvall which allowed the excellent Jack Rudoni to fire off a shot after just 44 seconds, it already looked like he had got it wrong.

Forster managed to tip away Rudoni’s effort but the nervy moment was one of many from Spurs’ much-switched backline in possession that would have had Spurs fans having kittens in the first half.

Coventry themselves had made seven swaps to the starting XI that drew 1-1 at Watford in the Championship on Saturday.

Yet Postecoglou must have worried how little his side threatened Mark Robins’ team, with next to no chances created from the visitors.

Dominic Solanke, signed for a league-highest £65million this summer, could barely get a kick.

Timo Werner looked horribly out of form, constantly running down blind alleys on the left-hand side and poor in possession.

In fact, only Bergvall, the blond Swedish teenager with the boyish goodlooks brought in from Djurgarden in July, looked the only player in green who really wanted to get on the ball.

Postecoglou was dealt a big blow inside 18 minutes when £30m new-man Wilson Odobert was forced off with what looked to be a hamstring problem.

Destiny Udogie’s terrific block to deny Rudoni, coming onto a Jack Bidwell cross with a well-struck, low half-volley, kept it at 0-0 at the break.
While young Belgian Norman Bassette forced Forster to tip over after being released by Rudoni’s superb ball over the top, only for a goal-kick to be given, bizarrely.

Djed Spence came on for Spurs at the break but Postecoglou’s side got worse.

Bassette had a shot well saved by Forster, who then flattened his team-mate Radu Dragusin when racing off his line, leaving Ben Davies to put in a goal-saving block when Haji Wright fired towards an open net.

It was a close call but even that did not shake Postecoglou’s side out of their slump – and just after the hour they were behind.

Bassette found an unmarked Thomas-Asante with a routine, low cross and the forward did the business by firing past the helpless Forster.

It looked all over for Spurs but then up popped Spence, out of nowhere, to poke home a leveller with two minutes to go.

A few minutes later, Johnson raced onto a through-ball and cleverly dinked it past the goalkeeper to win the game.

It ended a difficult period for him personally on a high note, after the Welshman had deactivated his Instagram account after fan abuse following the North London derby.

For his manager, it must have been sheer relief – knowing he had got away with one here.

But then again, fortune favours the brave, right, mate?

Man City 0 Inter Milan 0: Bore draw as European giants fail to put on show in money-spinning revamped Champions League

AS an advert for the monster new Champions League group stage, this will hardly have got the whole of Europe rushing off to buy new TV subscriptions.

A clash between the champions of England and Italy, and a repeat of the 2023 final, which was lacking in context or jeopardy or goals.

City were off-colour – and not just because of the bizarre design of a kit designed by Noel Gallagher in the shade of straw – and Inter were impressive, menacing on the break and unlucky not to win.

But what did it really all mean, with seven matches still to play in this monumental league table and with 24 of the 32 teams progressing beyond it?

These matches all feel like filler for the TV schedules. Content without enough meaning. Football to shrug your shoulders at.

It wasn’t a bad match. Inter were excellent in keeping Erling Haaland at bay after the Norewgian’s recent onion-bag orgy, which had seen him harvest nine goals from four Premier League matches.

Their counter-attacks were rapid and intelligent and they gave City plenty of scares, ahead of Sunday’s Premier League summit meeting with Arsenal.

As in last year’s final in Istanbul – which City won by a Rodri goal but might easily have lost – Simone Inzaghi’s side showed that it is possible to disrupt England’s perma-champions.

But both will surely advance, either among the top eight who gain automatic qualification or the next 16 who will head into a play-off.

Football is eating itself and this competition – which often only really comes alive in the knock-out stage – will take longer than ever to get going this season.

There’s 1990s nostalgia in the air in the blue half of Manchester – Oasis are going to tour and City could be heading for the lower divisions.

City were unrecognisable in this strange kit, designed to mark the 30th anniversary of the Gallagher brothers’ debut album Definitely Maybe.

Nobody knows whether this will be their final European campaign for many years – that will all depend on a lengthy secret hearing into the 115 charges of financial wrongdoing brought by the Premier League.

And in the meantime, those who pay through the nose for match tickets and TV subs have no right to know what’s going on in regards to whether the club who have dominated the English game for a decade is legit.

Still, here we were in the brave new world of the Champions League’s ‘Swiss model’ group stage, with its vast table, its lack of symmetry and its ever-increasing burden on players.

Rodri, who had been talking up the possibility of going on strike due to overwork, made his first start of the season after injury.

If the Spaniard wants a bit more time off, he ought to try being a little more dispensable to Guardiola.

But here he was back in situ at the base of City’s midfield, the tick-tock man allowing City’s passing game to go like clockwork.

Further forward, though, City were finding Inter to be obdurate opponents.

Inzaghi’s side defended solidly and broke with pace and precision, while their manager provided magnificent entertainment with his touchline histrionics.

There was even a mistake from Rodri, who had his pocket picked by Mehdi Taremi before Inter surged forward only for Carlos Augusto to blaze one high and wide.

City had chances, Haaland heading straight at keeper Yann Sommer from a curling Savinho cross, Savinho himself firing wildly across goal, and Kevin De Bruyne finding the side-netting from an angle.

But this was far from the usual group-stage turkey shoot for City.

A dodgy clearance from Ederson went straight to former Manchester United man Matteo Darmian Gvardiol whose long-range shot was headed clear by Josko Gvardiol.

Ruben Dias was booked for a wrecking-ball challenge on Piotr Zielinski and Marcus Thurman was soon shooting wide from a Zielinski cut-back.

It was a lively watch. Haaland dropping deep and linking up well, steered a shot wide, then produced a headed interception which led to an opening for De Bruyne, Sonner advancing to smother.

Inter left their most dangerous break of the first half until last, Ederson saving with his right foot at the near post from Augusto.

It was Inter’s tenth shot on goal and it was all enough for Guardiola to make a double-change at half-time – Phil Foden replacing the hit-and-miss Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan on for De Bruyne, who appeared to have pulled a muscle late in the first period.

Those switches made little difference to the pattern of the match – City unable to find a final pass, Inter still menacing on the break.

It wasn’t until 69 minutes that City carved out their first genuine chance of the second half, Gundogan teeing up Foden, who, from close range, shot too close to Sommer.

At the other end, another United old boy, Henrik Mkhitaryan blazed over when presented with arguably the best chance of the night.

Sommer made an excellent diving stop to push out a Gvardiol drive and Gundogan placed one point-blank header straight into the keeper’s grasp, before he sent a diving header over in the dying seconds.

Experts Aim To Strengthen Nigeria’s Cybersecurity Landscape
