Meghan and Harry break silence on US presidential election as they wade into debate with urgent new statement
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have broken their silence on the US presidential election as they wade into the debate.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday by getting the Archewell team to take part in a letter-writing activity.
Harry and Meghan have spoken out on the upcoming US election[/caption] Donald Trump is once again running for President[/caption]Staff sent out letters to unregistered voters to encourage them to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
The statement said: “Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities.
“At The Archewell Foundation, we recognise that civic engagement, no matter one’s political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world.
“By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters.
“Together, let’s make sure every eligible voter is informed and empowered to participate in shaping America’s future.”
However, the statement stopped short of endorsing a candidate and the couple remain publicly neutral, reports the Telegraph.
Harry and Meghan simply invited readers to use their voice and volunteer time to write letters to unregistered voters.
The Duke and Duchess will remain neutral in the upcoming election after a public spat with Donald Trump back in 2020.
They were accused of endorsing Joe Biden in the last US election, as they filmed a video statement from the garden of their Montecito mansion, which they had only just moved into at the time.
The couple called the presidential election “the most important of our life” while Harry urged voters to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity”.
The comments were seen as an attack on Donald Trump and the then president hit back, saying he was not a Meghan fan.
The Sussexes were also accused of “violating” the terms of their Megxit deal.
Harry and Meghan had pledged to “uphold the values of Her Majesty” after leaving the royal family.
In the aftermath, Republicans and other critics called on the Royal Family to strip the couple of their titles, calling the interference of the Duke and Duchess “‘inappropriate”.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said at the time: “We would not comment. The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity.”
Harry Mitchell plots against Phil in dangerous game in EastEnders
HARRY Mitchell is going to risk his family secrets getting exposed as he attempts to pull the wool over Phil’s eyes in new episodes of EastEnders.
Teddy Mitchell arrived in Walford with sons Harry and Barney in tow earlier this summer.
Trouble is brewing for the Mitchells on EastEnders[/caption] Teddy Mitchell makes it clear that it’s time for his son Harry to get a job[/caption] But Phil becomes concerned about having offered him employment when Harry starts acting shady[/caption]He was introduced as Billy Mitchell’s long lost half-brother, and the trio were initially welcomed to the borough.
However, suspicious behaviour on Teddy’s part has slowly made it clear that the family members are hiding a secret past.
And Phil Mitchell’s suspicions are going to be ignited when Harry starts acting shifty after being employed by him.
As the family settle into life in the village, Teddy decides it’s high time for his son to get a job.
He teams up with Sharon Watts to beg Phil to give Harry a trial shift at The Arches.
Harry himself is less than impressed by the plan, but quickly changes his tune when Jack Branning insults him by suggesting he doesn’t have any work ethic.
He decides to prove Jack wrong by going for the job – but does the opposite when he fails to show up for his shift.
His dad is left fuming with his lack of effort, but Harry quickly turns things around when he impresses Phil by stopping a thief from snatching Kathy Beale’s handbag.
But as soon as the lad is alone, he makes a suspicious phone call, hinting that he might have ulterior motives for wanting the job.
He meets a contact at McClunky’s and Jack overhears them planning something that rings alarm bells for him.
Jack orders a search warrant for the garage and Phil decides to take back his offer of a trial shift, convinced that Harry is bad news.
Teddy warns his son to be more careful, as something about the family could be exposed if the police start looking into their affairs.
He also manages to get Harry’s week of shifts guaranteed again after impressing Phil by organising a charity event at Mitchell Autos and pretending it was Harry’s idea.
Despite Teddy’s best attempts to cover for his son, Jack is still sharing his thoughts on Harry with anyone who is willing to listen.
Will this spell trouble for the Mitchells as neighbours and relatives start to become aware of their shady behaviour?
Or is Jack the one who should be watching his back?

Best soap affair love triangles
LOVE triangles are a fundamental part of soap-land, but which ones have become the most iconic?
EASTENDERS
Bradley/Stacey/Max: Stacey Slater began an affair with boyfriend Bradley Branning’s dad Max in 2007.
Despite their romps, Stacey still married Bradley, but their deceit came out in an iconic Christmas Day episode that year.
Grant/Sharon/Phil: Heading even further back in Walford history, EastEnders fans were gripped in the 90s as Sharon Watts had a one-night stand with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell.
Sharon confided in best friend Michelle Fowler – not realising it was caught on tape – and her husband Grant eventually found out and played it in front of everyone at the Queen Vic.
Syed/Amira/Christian: Syed Masood was engaged to Amira before realising he had feelings for another man, Christian, which he confessed to him on his wedding day.
A devout Muslim, Syed refused to admit his true sexuality and went ahead and married Amira anyway, but when they returned, the two men started an affair before being caught in the act by Amira.
CORONATION STREET
Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.
He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.
But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.
Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.
When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.
Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.
Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.
But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.
EMMERDALE
Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.
She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.
Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.
Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.
However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.
Having made up her mind to tell Charles, Manpreet arrives at Woodbine.
Will Charles and Laurel get caught together?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
