CONOR MCGREGOR has seemingly bypassed Dana White in a desperate attempt to finalise his long-awaited return to the UFC.
The Notorious’ long-overdue comeback clash with Michael Chandler collapsed last week when his fellow fan favourite agreed to rematch Charles Oliveira in November.
UFC President and CEO White then revealed that the promotion plan to have their poster boy return to the cage NEXT YEAR.
Both announcements blindsided McGregor, who has reached out to Saudi bigwig Turki Alalshikh – who recently struck up a lucrative partnership with MMA‘s top promotion – to try to seal a new date for his comeback.
The former two-division champion said: “I’ve been tested more than twice than these other athletes, yet I struggle to get a date.
“So I’ve talked to Sheikh Turki and I’ve said, ‘Sheikh Turki, can you assist me here?”
McGregor, 36, was due to return to the cage in the summer but was forced out of his June joust with Chandler after breaking his left pinky toe in sparring.
The Irishman revealed to SunSport that he was pivoting to a December return, although White and the rest of the UFC brass have different ideas for him.
White told the New York Post: “I was the one this year saying I don’t think he’s going to fight this year, amid all the talk and everything else.
“Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025.”

With more sides to his personality than an Octagon, Conor McGregor's rise has been an enthralling watch.

Notorious turned up to the premiere in a £60,000 suit that was outdone by his £460k watch.
The only thing sharper than his fashion sense is his tongue and the Dubliner has several bitter spats under his belt, including with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
That row led to one of his biggest controversies in 2018 as he travelled 3,000 miles to confront Khabib in a vicious attack on his bus.
He pleaded guilty to assault after punching a man in a pub in 2018 and had his £150k Bentley seized by police for driving offences four years later.
Joe Rogan lashed out at McGregor in a four-letter outburst and the Irishman has also fired shots at Jake Paul, KSI and Tommy Fury.
Boxing great Floyd Mayweather also has McGregor on his enemy list after the pair clashed in a cross-sport bout in 2017.

When asked last Friday if he’s “confident” about McGregor fighting next year, he said: “Yes. I wasn’t 100 per cent in 2024, but I am in 2025.”
“I just am,” the 55-year-old said when pressed further on the Dubliner’s future. “I know more than you guys know.
“I’m 100 per cent confident McGregor will fight next year.”
Despite all the recent setbacks his cage comeback has suffered, McGregor – who hasn’t fought since breaking his left leg over three years – is still hopeful of gracing the octagon again.
He said: “As far as Chandler rematching Oliveira, I’m happy with the date.
“It’s November. Maybe we can still do it after, if they’re not going to line me up until December, maybe January or February, one of these dates.
“Maybe we can still do it. I’m just a bit out of the loop with it. All I can do is carry on doing what I’m doing.
“I test under the testing administration, I train daily, and that’s it.
“Let’s see what happens. Hopefully, it all comes to fruition.”
A FAMILY have given viewers a tour inside their new home – the ex tour bus of a legendary British band.
The Kirk family have everything they need to eat, sleep and travel on the UK’s roads in the massive double-decker.
Dad Conrad showed gave fans a look around the bus he shares with his partner and four kids on the family’s YouTube channel.
He revealed that they managed to pick up the Volvo B12 coach for a decent price after it was sent up to Grimsby to have a busted gearbox repaired.
The spacious home on wheels is loaded with vast storage spaces, which had to be large enough to transport concert equipment.
Decked out in a deep purple colour, all it needs is a thorough clean and some new tyres before its ready for the road.
Inside, there’s a small kitchen, two sitting rooms and a chemical loo discreetly tucked away in its own cubicle.
The upper deck is dedicated to a long row of bunk beds with enough space to sleep all six of the Kirks.
There was even an extra bed in the front cab, though they removed the mattress to open up even more storage.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the bus, though, is its history as a tourer for a famous British rock band.
Glam rock group The Darkness reportedly travelled the length and breadth of the country in the bus during their mid-noughties heyday.
Not only that, but it was apparently passed on to the band by American heavy metal rockers Skid Row.
Conrad said: “This was a tour bus so it would have had 12 people sleeping in it with a lounge upstairs and downstairs for them to chill out.
“We’ve got a TV, surround sound, a fridge, a microwave and a kitchenette.
“We do want to put an oven and a gas hob in and the air fryer.
“It’s all fitted out with how it was left and there’s air con throughout.”
The family now just have to make some small modifications and give the entire bus a good clean and tidy before hitting the road together.

A SHOPPER has found herself slammed after nabbing £153 worth of chocolate in the Sainsbury’s sale.
Latisha took full advantage of the Nectar prices in her local supermarket as she added an astonishing £152.30 in sweet treats into her basket.
She then showed herself scanning her Nectar card, which took the whopping bill down to £78.36.
“Taking advantage of the Sainsbury’s offer on chocolates,” Latisha wrote over the top of her TikTok video.
She then showed the Cabury chocolate all lined up on the floor once she’d got it home, as she added in the caption: “Can’t go wrong…..!”
Among the items she’d snapped up were Fingers, white Fingers and Bournville Fingers, Twirl bites, boxes of Roses and Heroes, bags of Buttons and Crunchie bites.
However, Latisha quickly found herself sparking controversy in the comments section, with many people questioning why she needed that much chocolate.
“What could you possibly need £78 worth of chocolate for?” one raged.
“Wish I had the disposable income to stock up on this much chocolate!” another said.
“That’s why there’s none left in the shops,” a third sighed.
To which Latisha said: “There was plenty left at our store!”
“Why does one need that much chocolate?” someone else wrote.
“Is this why my Sainsbury’s was sold out?” another added.
“Went down to my Sainsbury’s and there’s nothing left on the shelf,” someone else said.
“It’s wild how the world moves soon as there’s a discount on something,” another wrote.
“You don’t need that much chocolate!”
However, others defended Latisha, insisting she got herself a good deal by stocking her cupboards with the chocolate.
“I bought £100 pounds worth,” one wrote.

THE BANK of England has opted to hold interest rates after cutting them for the first time since 2020 last month.
At the Monetary Policy Committee’s (MPC) meeting today, ratesetters at the BoE held the base rate at 5%.
Most economists had predicted the central bank to keep interest rates the same.
The decision to keep the base rate the same means it is at its highest level since 2008, during the global financial crisis.
The central bank cut rates from 5.25% to 5% in August, the first reduction since 2020 and a boon for squeezed borrowers.
Governor Andrew Bailey said it was able to do this because inflationary pressures had “eased enough”.
Today’s decision comes with inflation staying just above the BoE’s 2% target.
The latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measure stood at 2.2% in the 12 months to August, the same as the month before.
Grant Fitzner, chief economist at the ONS, said it had held steady as large increases in air fares was offset by falls in the cost of fuel and prices across the hospitality sector.
The BoE raises or lowers its base rate, which dictates what interest rates are charged to banks, in order to control inflation.
By raising it, it is supposed to make the cost of borrowing more expensive and control spending, therefore driving down inflation.
The BoE started raising its base rate in December 2021 as the UK economy emerged from the coronavirus pandemic.
A succession of rate rises followed as the bank looked to slow rampant inflation brought on partly by soaring wholesale gas and electricity prices.
It has seen mortgage rates go up for millions of households – adding thousands of pounds to some bills.
But the upturn in the base rate has also seen rates on savings accounts pushed up.

The International Monetary Fund also previously predicted that the BoE will cut its base rate to 3.5% by 2025.
In any case, here is what today’s decision means for your money.
Usually if rates rise it means that mortgage bills, depending on the type you have, will increase.
Those on a fixed-rate deal tend to be safe until they remortgage.
But other mortgages, such as tracker or standard variable rate (SVR) mortgages, can be impacted straight away.
Homeowners on variable-rate mortgages might not see their repayments go up straight away, but they likely increase shortly after interest rates are hiked.
The exact amount depends on your borrowing and your loan-to-value.
The BoE has today opted to freeze its base rate which means your lender will most likely make no changes to your mortgage rate.
If it does plan on making any changes, it should warn you in advance.
However, the BoE maintaining its base rate keeps pressure on mortgage holders who have been dealing with high rates for months.
If the base rate is hiked, the cost of borrowing through loans, credit cards and overdrafts can go up.
However, certain loans, such as personal loans or car financing, usually stay the same, as you have already agreed on a rate.
But you may be charged a higher rate on a future loan, and lenders may increase the rate on credit cards and overdrafts.
Like with mortgages, they should let you know before making any incremental changes.
With rates held, any rates you are paying on credit cards and loans are unlikely to change for now though.
Savers are the main group to have benefited after the consecutive rate rises.
This is because banks tend to battle it out to offer market-leading rates.
That said, banks are usually much slower to pass on higher rates to savers.
Of course, because the base rate has not changed today, banks will likely keep their rates the same too.
Anyone currently getting a low rate on easy-access savings could find it’s worth looking around for a better rate and moving their money.
The BoE’s base rate also impacts pensioners looking to buy an annuity.
A pension annuity converts your pension pot into a guaranteed regular income for the rest of your life.
But because annuity rates are linked to the cost of Government borrowing, any rise or fall in the BoE’s base rate can have an impact on the rate you receive.
The income you receive can be locked in on the day you purchase your annuity, so current annuity rates can make a big difference to your long-term financial security.
But with interest rates unchanged, pensioners will still be able to secure favourable rates.

“I was trying to bond with them to get them to help us but they weren’t having any of it.”
