I’m in my 50s & love fashion – I did a bargain M&S autumn haul, my two-second hack makes clothes so much more flattering

A FASHION fan who is in her fifties has revealed a savvy shopping hack to help make clothes look so much more flattering.

Anna Maria Kalebic went to her local M&S to revamp her wardrobe so it’s ready for Autumn and revealed a two-second trick whilst doing her shop.

She revealed that the store currently has some great seasonal buys[/caption]

The fashionista, who has a passion for sharing shopping tips for those over the age of 50, explained how M&S has “lots of good additional pieces” currently.

In one video, she says: “Come with me on my search for some autumn knitwear at M&S.

“There are certainly lots of things catching my eye in my local M&S, but I’m here for some basic knits. Let’s go and try them on.”

She first starts off by showing the camera a cosy jumper.

Anna Maria says: “It’s super soft; it’s called Cloud Yarn and it comes in a few different colours.

“It comes in a cardigan too. I really love this pink one.”

The style queen then suggested a shopping hack for those who were listening to her video.

She says: “I sized up all the knitwear.”

Anna Maria then styled a pair of jeans and trainers along with a V-neck knit in grey.

She says: “This one was under £20, such a bargain and a good staple for autumn and winter.”

Anna Maria then tried on a Pringle style jumper which was a brown jumper, with a blue and orange diamond pattern on it, along with the same pair of jeans.

She says: “This is more of a statement knit. I loved it with these jeans, which are also M&S; they’re the Carrot Leg jeans.

“I tried this one on medium for an oversized look.”

She also revealed how she is on the hunt for some chunky boots, and found a pair of real leather ones for £65.

Anna Maria says: “Love the price.

“As always with M&S, the accessories are so lovely, really good designs, and good quality.

“So many great bags for autumn and winter. Love this trench, by the way.

“So many stylish boots and bags.”

Her video gained lots of attention with many fashion fans rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “I’m absolutely loving M&S’s Autumn/Winter range!

“I’ve already bought those chunky black boots.”

Another added: “Pringle style jumper looks amazing on you.”

And Anna Maria replied: “It’s not what I’d normally go for but it’s so nice.”

Why Everyone Is Loving M&S

Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained:

“M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about.

“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’ that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear.

“Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.

“The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also.

“Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30.

“After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on.

“Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.”

Champions League club part ways with manager after just ONE GAME of new format following dubious record

A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE club has axed its manager after just one game in the tournament’s new format.

There has been a mixture of opinions for the new system as the increased number of fixtures has players concerned for their welfare.

Despite concerns, the first two matchdays have served up some thrilling games and lots of goals.

The most goals came in Bayern Munich‘s 9-2 drubbing of Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

As a result of the match, Dinamo have parted ways with their manager Sergej Jakirovic.

A club statement read: “GNK Dinamo would like to inform the public that a mutual termination of the contract with the former coach of the Blues, Sergej Jakirović, has been agreed upon.

“The first team will be led in the short term until a decision on a new long-term coaching solution is made by former member of the professional staff, Sandro Perkovic.

“We thank Sergej Jakirovic from the bottom of our hearts for everything he has given for our club and wish him the best of luck and success in his future career.

“We hereby appeal to the media and the public to be understanding towards Sergej Jakirovic and his family and not to worsen an already stressful situation.”

Dinamo president Velimir Zajec has thanked the coach for his efforts but insisted the club’s interests must come first.

He said: “First of all, I want to thank Sergej Jakirovic for all the results he achieved.

“We had a pleasant cooperation, he left an impression on me of a quality person and I wish him the best of luck in his future career.

“The most important thing in these situations is to remain human, and to put Dinamo’s interests first.

“It is now up to all of us to make a quality decision about a new coach in this difficult moment for Dinamo and to return to winning ways.”

The heavy defeat to Bayern saw the German club set a number of records.

It is the first time a club in the competition has hit nine goals in a single match.

England captain Harry Kane netted four of the goals in the game, three of which came from the spot.

Kane took his career tally in the Champions League to 33 as he surpassed Wayne Rooney‘s record of 30.

He was also the first Englishman to score four times in a single game in the tournament.

One saving grace for Dinamo is that the seven-goal defeat is not the worst in the history of the competition.

Besiktas and Malmo have both been beaten 8-0 in their games against Liverpool and Real Madrid, respectively.

The Reds dispatched the Turkish outfit by the huge margin in 2007, while Madrid hammered Malmo in 2015.

New Champions League format

Each club will play eight matches in the opening phase – against seeded opposition, in a system designed to ensure that teams play opponents of similar difficulty.

The top eight teams in the “final” table will automatically go through to the last 16, where they will be joined by the eight play-off winners of ties between the sides placed ninth to 24th in the table.

Despite there being just eight matches in the opening phase, European matches will be spread over 10 midweek slots.

The new Champions League format also sees the implication of two additional qualifying spots.

They will be awarded to the nations that are top of the “country coefficient” chart each season.

Late-night lesbian romps with Madonna made me feel like a high-class hooker…I was also dating another A-list star

MADONNA has had a famously colourful love life, having been married twice – and enjoyed a string of flings with younger men.

However, one of the many bombshells revealed in Disney+ documentary, In Vogue: The 90s is that the Queen of Pop, 66, had a steamy fling with Jenny Shimizu, 57, which left the openly gay model feeling like a “high-class hooker”.

The former mechanic – who was in Calvin Klein’s famous advert for its first unisex fragrance CK One –  confesses she would fly across Europe for late-night hookups with Madonna, who’s currently dating Jamaican footballer Akeem Morris, 28.

She says: “I mean, you are not going to say no to Madonna in the 90s.

“It was great feeling like a high-class hooker, because it really did feel like that.

“I would get a phone call saying, ‘Can you meet me at my show in Paris, you’re in Europe, right?’ and I would be like, ‘Yeah I’m just finishing Prada, I’ll catch a plane over’.

“And I would go to her hotel room at the Ritz at four in the morning and have sex and fly back to Milan.”

Jenny, who has been married to Michelle Harper since 2014, adds with a laugh: “My wife is going to kill me.”

Jenny first revealed she’d had a relationship with Madonna in her memoir last year.

She said: “It wasn’t about an emotional bond, it was about taking each other to the heights of sexual ecstasy.

“I loved the fact that I was at this woman’s beck and call. It turned me on, being ordered to her room whenever she felt like sex.”

Another A-list lover

Shockingly, actress Jenny was also dating Angelina Jolie at the same time, having met when they starred in Foxfire together.

Angelina confirmed their romance herself in 1997, while she was married to Jonny Lee Miller.

She said: “I fell in love with her the first second I saw her.

“I would probably have married Jenny if I hadn’t married my husband.”

Madonna seemingly came out as gay in 2022 on TikTok.

She held up a pair of neon pink knickers, scrunched up in her hands, and said: “If I miss, I’m gay”.

She tossed the underwear across the room and showed they had, indeed, missed the bin she was aiming at.

She then gave a shrug to camera and turned to walk away.

In Vogue: The 90s features interviews with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, along with a host of A-list celebrities, revealing some of the juiciest showbiz and fashion moments from the decade.

The second volume, released tomorrow, includes snippets from Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Stella McCartney on her and Liv Tyler’s infamous ‘Rock Royalty’ vests that they wore to their first Met Gala in 1999.

Rock Royalty

“I went with Liv because she was one of my best friends, and we really didn’t know what to expect,” Stella recalls. “I was like, ‘What are we going to wear?’ and I bought these vests and went down to a place called Filth Mart and asked them to stamp these vests for me.

“They were like, ‘When do you need them?’ ‘I need them in about three hours.’”

Stella went to Liv’s apartment with the vests – which refer to the fact they are both daughters of rock stars – and was stunned when she discovered a hair and makeup artist there.

She was also shocked by the number of paparazzi at the Met, taking their picture.

She continues: “We didn’t know what the hell we were letting ourselves in for.

Inside Madonna's love life

Madonna has had a rollercoaster of a love life...

  • Sean Penn: Married the actor in 1985; the couple divorced in 1989.
  • Warren Beatty: Had a high-profile relationship with the actor in the early 1990s.
  • Vanilla Ice: Brief relationship in the early 1990s; he claimed she proposed to him, but he declined as he was “too young”.
  • Carlos Leon: Dated the personal trainer in the mid-1990s and they were rumoured to be engaged; they share a daughter, Lourdes.
  • Guy Ritchie: Married the British film director in 2000; the couple divorced in 2008. They have a son, Rocco, and adopted a son, David, together.
  • Jesus Luz: Dated the Brazilian model from 2008 to 2010.
  • Brahim Zaibat: Was in a relationship with the French dancer from 2010 to 2013.
  • Timor Steffens: Had a brief relationship with the Dutch dancer in 2014.
  • Ahlamalik Williams: Dated the American dancer, who is 36 years her junior, from 2019 to 2022.

  • Akeem Morris: Been dating since July 2024; he is 38 years her junior.

“We went up the stairs and were like, ‘What the hell was that?’

“We couldn’t believe what was going on. We were literally fish out of water.

“And the next day we were on the front cover of Women’s Wear Daily, which was apparently a big deal. We didn’t know.”

Afterwards, many people started recreating the Rock Royalty vests – and Stella even brought out her own versions in 2022, selling them for £525.

“I remember I had a fitting and, I swear to God, Giselle came in one of those rip-offs. To my fitting,” she adds with a laugh.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Victoria Beckham opens up on her obsession with designer gear from a very young age.

She says: “I loved the idea of luxury.

“My mum’s friend used to wear a lot of Coco Chanel fragrance. When she finished them, she’d give them to me. I mean, she would drain the bottles, there was nothing left for me, but I used to put them all out on my window sill because I loved how they looked.

“I remember one time she gave me the empty bottles in a Gucci plastic carrier bag.

“Oh my gosh, I would carry my school books to school every day in this Gucci plastic carrier bag until the bottom fell out. I felt so special.

“I felt like I was owning a part of that luxury brand.”

She can definitely afford more than a carrier bag from Gucci now!

One of the most iconic outfits from the 90s was Lil Kim’s 1999 VMAs look – a purple jumpsuit with one boob completely out aside from a matching pasty covering the nipple.

And her stylist Misa Hylton reveals it was actually Missy Elliot who inspired the daring number.

She says: “Missy was like, ‘Lil Kim is such a bad b***h. If I was Lil Kim, I’d just f**k it and have my t*tty out, and I was like, ‘Hmm, interesting.’

“I knew that it was risque but I just wanted to create this look, so I found this beautiful Indian bridal fabric.

“It was lavender, and sequins and a little bit of white lace. It was absolutely gorgeous and I knew I wanted it to be feminine, because she was going to have one boob out.

“Kim loved the outfit and you can see in all the photos. She’s glowing, she’s feeling happy. She loved it, she’s feeling like Queen Bee.”

She hilariously adds: “That pasty was stuck on with eyelash glue but it stayed on all night, even after Diana Ross gave it a little jiggle!”

And Missy adds: “Can you imagine Kim doing that in this period of social media? They would’ve been like Instagram down, Facebook down, Twitch down, everything down!”
