With sizeable discounts expected on big brands such as LEGO, Disney toys, Barbie dolls and more in the Black Friday sales, this November is set to be the ultimate playground for toy lovers of all ages.

Shoppers will easily find deep discounts on some of this year’s hottest toys at retailers like Argos, Amazon, John Lewis and Hamleys.

So whether you’re hunting for the hottest new toy gadgets for Christmas or a classic board game the whole family can enjoy, buckle up as we delve into the best toy deals and steals that are expected this Black Friday.

When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday lands on November 29 this year.

It always falls the day after US Thanksgiving celebrations – however, over the last few years, some retailers have chosen to launch early deals in the weeks leading up to the big sale.

As well as toys, you can expect big discounts across pretty much every shopping category imaginable, ranging from homeware and tech to fashion and beauty.

We’ll be keeping track of all the best Black Friday deals, so follow along to ensure that you don’t miss out.

When will Black Friday toy deals start in 2024?

In previous years many major retailers and brands like Amazon and John Lewis have chosen to roll out early deals from the beginning of November.

We anticipate several retailers will choose to spread out the sale period once again, so shoppers hoping to snap up the best toy bargains should sign up for as many newsletters as possible to find out exactly when various sales start.

Last year prices were slashed up to 70%, so you can expect significant discounts on popular brands and trending toys, however, the most popular and in-demand toys do run the risk of selling out.

Which retailers will offer the best Black Friday 2024 toy deals?

We can 99.99% guarantee that you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding toy retailers taking part in Black Friday 2024.

The November event is ideal for Christmas shoppers who plan to get the bulk of their gift shopping done in the sales, whether you plan to browse online from your sofa or hit the high street.

Below we have highlighted some of the main shops worth checking when the sale kicks off in November.

Shoppers can expect to see popular brands like LEGO, Squishmallows, LOL Surprise! and Furby featured in the discounting at many different online and high street retailers.

The fact that many retailers will go head to head during Black Friday means shoppers should definitely shop around and compare prices to ensure they are getting the cheapest deal.

What toy deals to expect in the Black Friday sale 2024?

The annual shopping event has gained significant traction over the last decade this side of the Atlantic, with many major UK stores offering substantial discounts on coveted new and classic toys.

The Black Friday toy sales for 2024 promise to be a treasure trove of savings, especially when you consider that lots of popular toys are stocked in major supermarkets, department stores, online retailers and specialist chains.

Some of the biggest toy trends for 2024 include retro toys making a comeback, with Argos reporting searches for Furby toys on its website are up by 237%.

Elsewhere we expect to see lots of toys based on children’s TV characters like Bluey and Cocomelon also featured in the Black Friday toy sales.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy video games?

Black Friday is the perfect time to buy video games or gaming accessories.

With most major brands slashing prices during November, you can pick up old and new video games at a fraction of their normal price.

Black Friday is a great time to buy Christmas gifts for less and shoppers can expect price cuts on the latest video game releases and Game Pass subscriptions, in addition to Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox console bundle deals, which often fly off the shelves.

Amazon, GAME, Very, Argos and Currys are all great places to search for video games and gaming deals, and most retailers will compete to offer the lowest prices, so savvy shoppers will be able to find the very best deals and the cheapest price for the items they want.

What to watch out for when buying toys online

HERE are the British Toy and Hobby Association's top tips for buying toys online:

  1. Shop early. Don’t leave ourchases to the last minute rush which might leave you fewer options of where to buy from.
  2. Check out third-party sellers. Look for sellers you recognise and trust. Be cautious of retailers you don’t know and do your research checking reviews and where they’re based.
  3. Go for branded toys. Try and choose a branded toy as then you can compare it to the manufacturer’s own website to check it’s legit.
  4. Be careful of going for the cheapest price. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
  5. Check if there are any age restrictions. Make sure you give suitable toys to children based on their age.
  6. Check reviews carefully. Some reviews are fake so look carefully at the comments.
  7. Stay with children at first. When your child opens a toy for the first time, stay with them and check for faults, detachable small parts, access to stuffing and loose or accessible batteries or magnets.

When is Cyber Monday 2024 and are toy retailers taking part?

Cyber Monday 2024 falls on December 2 and is traditionally the online-only counterpart of Black Friday, taking place on the Monday that immediately follows.

Retailers taking part in Black Friday will almost certainly have a Cyber Monday sale, marking another chance to pick up some bargains ahead of Christmas.

Some shoppers like to chance it until Cyber Monday to see if prices will drop any further, but of course, it’s always a risk.

And over the last few years retailers have chosen to launch deals early and not lower prices throughout the sale.

However, we’d recommend that if you have your heart set on picking up a particular toy, you should snap it up as soon as the Black Friday sale lands to avoid disappointment.

For additional savings during the sale, you can also check out Sun Vouchers for exclusive discount codes for free delivery, extra money off and more.

Modern classic coupe from best-selling brand has ‘Ferrari-like’ style & powerful engine – it can be yours for under £5k

AN INCREDIBLY stylish coupe that has almost Ferrari-like looks can be all yours for less than £5,000.

Its elegant style is only matched by its surprisingly powerful motor – a 3.0-litre V6 engine.

Its style is a subtle upgrade on the standard model but it’s been likened to a Ferrari[/caption]

Peugeot‘s cult favourite 406 Coupe – a sporty version of their regular 406 family saloon from the late 1990s and early 2000s – was designed and manufactured by car styling experts Pininfarina.

First released in 1996, the Coupe featured either a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-litre V6, while a 2.2-litre diesel was released in 2001.

Car expert Matt Goodwin of the YouTube channel High Peak Autos recently compared the 406 Coupe to one of the world’s most famous makers of exotic motors.

He said: “It does look, at a quick glance, a bit like a Ferrari.

“That’s all thanks to Pininfarina – it’s a beautiful looking coupe.”

He added: “It is genuinely a stylish thing, you get nice plush leather seats, there’s room for four people and to top it all off, they’re cheap to buy and cheap to maintain.”

Of course, Pininfarina is an well-renowned Italian design firm known for its work for brands like Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati.

Today, the 406 Coupe is considered a modern classic and is becoming increasingly popular among car collectors.

We recently came across a model on the Cars & Classic auction website – a 2000 example with 115,000 miles on the clock.

This “pristine”, top-of-the-range 406 Coupe comes with the coveted 3.0-litre V6 engine and is finished in polaris blue, with a black leather interior and even Recaro sport seats.

The list adds: “Only one owner from new, the car has been immaculately looked after, recent work includes a full body respray.”

Best of all, this motor can be picked up for just £4,250 – an absolute bargain for such an eye-catching an iconic car.

This comes as a hot hatchback Peugeot that belonged to Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson recenntly went up auction — as he had barely driven it.

Another Peugeot hot hatch has been picked out by a car expert for being both super fun and surprisingly practical – but it regularly falls under the radar.

Arsenal wonderkid, 14, makes history by becoming youngest scorer in Uefa Youth League as fans gush ‘future is bright’

ARSENAL fans rejoiced as their latest wonderkid became the Uefa Youth League’s youngest-ever goalscorer.

The Gunners were dealt an almighty blow on Wednesday when captain Martin Odegaard was ruled out for “a while” with an ankle injury.

But on Thursday, there was plenty of reason for celebration.

That is because teenage star Max Dowman was on the scoresheet for the Arsenal Under-19s away at Atalanta.

And in doing so, he broke the record as the youngest player to find the net in the competition.

England U17 international Dowman was aged just 14 years, eight months and 19 days when he fired home from a cross.

The attacking midfielder – born on December 31, 2009 – broke the previous record held by Borussia Dortmund sensation Youssoufa Moukoko, who was 14 years, 11 months and three days at the time of his first Youth League goal.

They are the only two players to have struck in the U19s tournament – a youth version of the Champions League.

Among the other youngest goalscorers is Ryan Gravenberch.

The Liverpool midfielder was just 15 years, four months and ten days old when he fired home for Ajax.

But Dowman’s effort bumps him out of the top five down to sixth on the list.

According to Scouted, Dowman also became the youngest-ever starter in the Youth League and second-youngest debutant against Atalanta.

And fans were quick to heap praise on the teenager for his impressive exploits.

One said: “Spectacular talent.”

Another wrote: “A proper baller.”

A third commented: “Max Dowman is truly a rising star! Excited to see what the future holds for him and the Arsenal academy!”

A fourth typed: “Another incoming wonderkid from Hale End.”

A fifth labelled him “Talent of the Century”.

A fifth added: “You just know he’s gonna be the youngest player starting for us in the premier league. I see him getting his debut within the next two years.”

And a final user replied: “He is following in the footsteps of Ethan Nwaneri.”

Nwaneri became the Premier League’s youngest player when he came on for the Gunners against Brentford in 2022.

The schoolkid was just 15 years and 181 days old when he made his senior debut in West London – and is now part of the first-team set-up under Mikel Arteta.

So much so that he was brought on in the closing minutes for Arsenal in Sunday’s North London Derby win at Tottenham to help see out victory.

However, despite Dowman’s success against Atalanta today, Arsenal supporters will be hoping there is no repeat of the scoreline when the senior sides face off in the Champions League.

The junior Italians ran out comfortable 4-1 winners – racing into a 3-0 lead by half-time before Dowman pulled one back early in the second and then the home side grabbed a fourth late on.

Soccer AM legend Helen Chamberlain reveals most famous guest refused to set alarm and turned up whenever he wanted

HELEN Chamberlain has revealed one celebrity guest regularly caused carnage on Soccer AM – because they refused to get out of bed.

The former Sky Sports host presented the popular morning show alongside Tim Lovejoy from 1996 to 2007.

She has recently teamed up with co-star Tim Lovejoy for the Soccer A-Z podcast[/caption]

Chamberlain and Lovejoy recently announced they are getting the cast back together for a new podcast.

The pair launched Soccer A-Z earlier this month, looking back at football fan culture and their time on the iconic Saturday morning program.

Discussing evasive guests during a recent episode, Chamberlain namedropped former boxer David Haye.

She laughed: “David Haye, the boxer, he didn’t not show up.

“But we would book him and would say ‘Your call time is 7.30am’.

“And he’d say ‘No, my call time is when I wake up and get there’.”

Haye unified the cruiserweight world title in 2008 and later became a heavyweight world champion.

But the now 43-year-old‘s timekeeping proved a huge issue with the Soccer AM production staff.

Chamberlain continued: “His interview used to be just floating.

“So it would be whenever he arrives, [production] would just go, right David Haye is here, and we go to a commercial break and then he’d be there.

“Sometimes he would be first guest, sometimes he would be last guest, and we never argued with him.

“He said ‘I will get there when I get there, I refuse to set my alarm’.”

Lovejoy laughed in response and pointed out: “Who is going to argue with him?”

The pair’s co-star Peter Dale – known as Tubes – was more scathing, adding: “Yeah, I’m not really having that. I don’t like that.”

Chamberlain left Soccer AM in 2017, a decade after Lovejoy departed the show.

It ran for another six years, before ending for good last May.

Chamberlain was excited for a trip down memory lane on Soccer A-Z, which has already topped the Apple podcast charts.

She explained: “I’m really looking forward to reminding Tim of all the absolute nonsense he thought up, and made us do during the Soccer AM days.

“I’m sure he’s forgotten most of it – luckily, the rest of us haven’t.

“We all have endless stories about putting that show together, and it’s going to be so good to catch up with some of the old crew and hear their best memories from both behind the scenes and in front of camera.”

What happened to MAFS’s Ella Morgan and Celebs Go Dating star Alex after filming revealed – as series ends TONIGHT

CELEBS Go Dating has seemingly struck gold this series – with Ella Morgan completely loved up with one of her matches.

On the series, the Married At First Sight UK star has been seen enjoying a string of dates with eligible men, but one has now officially stolen her heart.

We can reveal that, ahead of the Celebs Go Dating finale tonight, Ella has been going strong with Alex since they first met.

They’ve even now gone official away from the cameras, with Ella bringing Alex along to the latest MAFS UK launch last week.

A source told The Sun: “Ella and Alex have been inseparable since they met on Celebs Go Dating and have remained together since filming wrapped in July.

“They’ve finally made their relationship official after Ella brought Alex as a plus one to a number of recent high-profile events, such as the Married at First Sight launch.

“Ella has told pals how happy she is and how Alex has made her laugh and feel safe compared to any other man she’s dated.

“He identities as a straight man and just sees Ella for her, as a woman, rather than a label and has been really supportive of her.

“They’ve talked about falling in love and see a future together. Ella has even introduced Alex to her family, as has he.”

Ella and Alex’s blossoming romance has been playing out on screen over the past two weeks, with the pair meeting on one of the show’s retreats.

Smitten from the outset, their bond only grew when Ella was forced to take time off from the show after falling ill, and Alex sent her flowers while she recovered.

However, another date was derailed by dating expert Paul Carrick-Brunson, who ambushed the pair with a series of Ella’s former dates.

Admitting she struggled getting used to so much female attention, she gently let down her other suitors, standing firm in her decision to stick with Alex.

This didn’t go down particularly well with a man named Reece, who she connected with at the start of her journey on the show.

She’s since called him a “red flag” because he seemed too keen, even wanting to go ‘exclusive’ with her after just two dates.

On tonight’s finale, the dating agency throws its first ever pool party to signal the end of the series – and Alex has a surprise in store for Ella.

However, just as things look solid for them, an unexpected face from the past resurfaces, leaving Ella in a tricky situation – and an apology may be in order.

Celebs Go Dating airs tonight on Channel 4 and is available on Channel 4 On Demand.

Lewis Hamilton slams FIA president for ‘racial element’ in criticism that compared swearing drivers to rappers

LEWIS HAMILTON reignited his feud with Mohammed Ben Sulayem by saying there was a “racial element” to his comments comparing swearing drivers to rappers.

The FIA president has asked F1 to limit the amount of swearing, usually from drivers over team radio, on TV coverage of races.

Ben Sulayem compared swearing drivers to rappers[/caption]

Ben Sulayem said: “We have to differentiate between our sport – motorsport – and rap music. We’re not rappers, you know.

“They say the F-word how many times per minute? We are not on that. That’s them and we are [us].”

Ahead of this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, Hamilton said: “I don’t like how he’s expressed it.

“Saying ‘rappers’ is very stereotypical and if you think about it, most rappers are black. So really pointed it towards we’re not like them.

“So I think that was the wrong choice of words. There’s a racial element there.”

Hamilton did understand Ben Sulayem’s wider point, saying: “You forget that there are kids that are listening. So I agree in that sense.”

Max Verstappen also snapped back after he was cautioned over swearing in a press conference.

The Red Bull driver said his RB20 car was “f**ked” which led host Tom Clarkson to remind the world champion to watch his language.

Verstappen said: “I sometimes swear, that’s true, but that will apply to everyone in this room.

“Insulting someone is something else.

“We are unlucky that it is all broadcast and people can then pick it up.

“The car is f***ed – can’t I say that? “How old are we, five or six years old? That is ridiculous.

“And even if children of that age watch this, when they get a bit older they will probably also use a swear word when they are with their friends.”

This is not the first time drivers and Ben Sulayem have locked horns, with his feud with Hamilton long-standing.

The seven-time world champion slammed new rules about wearing jewellery in his Mercedes cockpit in 2022.

Hamilton was forced to remove his nose stud ahead of the 2022 British Grand Prix.

He was then granted an FIA medical exemption to wear the piercings following “concerns about disfigurement” the following season.

Ben Sulayem also fined Hamilton £42,000 for failing to attend the FIA’s prize-giving gala in the days after his defeat to Verstappen in the 2021 season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Brit supported Susie Wolff, the F1 Academy managing director, in her legal dispute against Ben Sulayem.

Wolff lodged a case against the FIA following its conflict of interest inquiry into her last year, which was dropped after two days.
