THIS is the horror moment a crocodile searching for food took on a gang of savage sharks in a brutal “battle for territory”.
Wild footage captured the apex predators surrounding the lone beast before the face-off near coastal waters in North Queensland, Australia.
The large croc was hunting for food near a beach when the gang of sharks came face to face with the beast – and began attacks to ward it off.
One of the sharks then began to move its tail and splash the shallow waters to scare the crocodile off.
However, it failed to deter the lone beast who then struck back at the sea predators.
The sharks were then forced to swim away in what looked to be a humiliating defeat for them.
Vincent Bates, a local fisherman working at the beach, captured the drama before uploading it to TikTok.
He wrote in the captions: “Crocodile and sharks battle for territory.”
Many social media users flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts on the incredible face-off, calling it a “crazy fight”.
One user said lack of food forced the beasts to take on each other.
They added: “The problem is overfishing in deeper waters by huge ships as sharks only come searching for food in shallow beaches.
Laura Sandeman, a marine biologist at Human Society International, told Yahoo News: ” This certainly seems to be an instance of predators looking for an opportunity to get a quick meal with a fishing boat in the water.”
Crocodiles often lurk in shallow waters to find food, but watching them fight sharks off is a rare sight.
In 2021, a crocodile came face-to-face with two sharks as they swam past each other.
While a shark was filmed biting an alligator near a South Carolina beach.
The shark was filmed circling the gator, who was being fed by locals, before suddenly sinking its teeth into its left leg causing the animal to jump.
Saltwater crocodiles are the largest crocodile species in the world, and the largest living reptile in the world.
Male saltwater crocodiles have been recorded at lengths of 23 feet while females are much smaller, growing to be about 10 feet long.
The world’s largest crocodile, Cassius, resides in a wildlife park in Queensland, Australia.
Saltwater crocodiles communicate using several sounds, including barking, hissing, growling and chirping.
Saltwater Crocodiles are one of the oldest creatures to walk the planet.
They first appeared over 240 million years ago, during the time of the dinosaurs.
While others have evolved into different shapes and forms, saltwater crocs have stuck to the same structure for the last 200 million years.
Saltwater Crocodiles breed during the wet season, and females can lay up to 50 eggs, which they build nests for along the nearby river banks.

She enlisted the help of her dad to take another picture of herself and her man as they headed off, with the snap arriving when she was actually at the wedding.
However, when Sam’s dad sent her a picture of herself and her man at the wedding, she was left stunned at what she saw.
“The bride’s about to walk down the aisle…” she continued.
“My phone goes off and it’s this picture.
“I’m like ‘What the f**k am I wearing?’
“I keep forgetting – I have double D t**s and I’m two feet tall!”
She added that the neckline was doing “literally nothing” for her, and highlighted her “bread-baking” arms and bust “hanging low” which looked like she was going to be “breastfeeding the whole wedding”.
“I’m like, that’s the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen!” she sighed.
She even blamed her dad for the bad photo and decided to get another picture taken, but the next snap was even worse.
“I look even shorter!” she yelled.
“This thing is not doing me any favors. I’m like a shapeless Russian circus tent.”
Sam continued to “torture” herself by zooming in to look at the make-up, as she said: “Whose face is that?
“I don’t think I look like that!”

She even hated the way her hair looked in the snaps, as she said: “This b**ch just walked off a windy boat.”
Sam went on to admit that the situation had got her wondering “why don’t I know what I look like?”
“What’s more concerning is this happens at every wedding or event or something where I have to be formal,” she said.
“I leave thinking I look good. My hair is always frizzy. I apparently don’t know how to smile.”
“I’m way prettier in person,” she raged.
“I feel like I have to tell people that my body is a different shape than what I thought.
“What do I need to do to get an accurate representation of what I look like?” she questioned.
“Because right now I’m like you look okay
“But what do I really f**king look like?
“I looked like the girl from The Ring!”
In the caption, Sam insisted she was “so serious”, as she asked: “How do I know how I look? Help me!”
But she quickly found that she wasn’t the only one to find themselves in the same situation.
“It’s like the opposite of body dysmorphia,” one person commented.
“I always think I look amazing til I see a pic of myself!”
“No because I was genuinely humiliated the last wedding I went to,” another sighed.

RORY MCILROY had an eventful start to the opening day of the BMW PGA Championship.

As if McIlroy hadn’t already been dealt a difficult enough hand, the golfing Gods dished him more issues on the 12th.
Stepping up for his second shot on a short par five, McIlroy unbelievably lost the head on one of his irons on impact of his approach shot.
Smacking the ball some 128mph, his iron head gave way and went flying off the shaft of his club.

The Ryder Cup star was flabbergasted when he looked down to see that his club had snapped in two through no real fault of his own.
Remarkably, the resulting shot was superb – setting up an eight foot putt for Eagle.
Unfortunately he was unable to sink the mid-range putt for a miracle three and had to settle for a birdie instead.
Despite all that drama, McIlroy still managed to be leading after 15 holes with a score of -6 putting him clear of the early competition.

It’s been an eventful week already for McIlroy with Wednesday’s Pro-Am seeing the two-time PGA Championship winner catch up with Hollywood superstar Tom Holland and sporting hero Andy Murray.
RORY MCILROY enjoyed a high-profile romance with former tennis world number one Caroline Wozniacki before their split in 2014.
The following year, the golf ace began dating Erica Stoll, who he had first met on the PGA Tour in 2011.

The reasons for the divorce were not disclosed, but the Northern Irishman submitted documents to a court in Florida.
However, a few weeks later, performed a U-turn on their decision to divorce.
McIlroy told the outlet: “Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
COPS have released CCTV of three men after a teenager reported being raped and a woman said she had been sexually assaulted on a popular UK beach.
Police received reports of the two alleged sex offences on Brighton beach at around 6am on September 8.
The offences are said to have taken place in an area of the beach between the two piers.
Cops investigating the offences are looking to identify three men who may be able to assist with ongoing enquiries.
The two victims are known to each other, said Sussex Police.
Detective Sergeant Paul Heal said: “The two victims are being supported by specially trained officers while our thorough investigation continues.
“We are undertaking multiple lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances around these incidents and ensure that those responsible are located and held accountable for their actions.
“Patrols have been increased along Brighton seafront, and we are working with our partner agencies to support this enhanced presence.
“If you recognise these men, or have information to assist our investigation, we ask that you contact the police.”

A VILLAGE in Northamptonshire full of historic attractions and home to a famous gin has now been put on the map for another reason.
Harrington is a small village situated on the River Ise surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Among the things it’s famous for is The Tollemache Arms pub, which has just been crowned Great British Pub of the Year and Best Country Pub in the 2024 Great British Pub Awards.
The 17th century pub describes itself as “quintessentially British”.
Nicknamed ‘The Tolly’ by the owners and locals, the pub has recently been refurbished and offers a tasty menu with everything from sharing platters to handmade pizzas within a cosy setting.
In the summer, customers can enjoy drinks in its spacious garden. In winter, there’s a log fire to get cosy next to.
One customer that visited the pub in June this year wrote on Tripadvisor: “Cannot rate this lovely place highly enough. Amazing from start to finish.
“The welcome we got was the best I have probably ever had in a small pub.”
Among the drinks on offer at The Tolly is Warner’s gin, which gin fans may be familiar with.
Available to buy from Waitrose online, the gin is made at the Warner’s Distillery just down the road.
It’s produced in a 200 year old barn by husband and wife team Tom and Tina.
There’s a farm shop at the distillery selling all Warner’s products, which includes rhubarb gin and apple and pear gin.
Customers can also immerse themselves in a tasting tour, which includes a drink on arrival, tasting of its gins, rums, and other spirits, and a walking tour of the farm.
Harrington is also famed for its historic sites, such as Harrington Aviation Museum.
The museum, also known as the Carpetbagger Aviation Museum, is a great place to visit for those interested in World War II aviation history.
Highlights include a rare look at the secret work of the British Special Operations Executive from their RAF base at Tempsford.
Just a 15 minute drive away, families can enjoy sheep and piglet racing at West Lodge Farm Park.
The racing takes place daily and is a favourite attraction for those who visit regularly.
Visitors are even invited to try their hand at pig herding.
There are also a variety of beautiful walks and trails to enjoy around the farm, pony rides, and the chance to hold rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and ducklings at certain times of year.
The farm is complete with an adventure playground, adventure golf, ride on tractors, and a ‘Barrell Ride’, which does a double circuit of the outdoor play area, making it the perfect day out for families with kids.
