FANS asked “is that legal” after a tennis star’s outrageous “next-level magic” trick shot.
Corentin Moutet is never afraid to show off his maverick style on the court.
Corentin Moutet produced another moment of madness[/caption]
He played a sublime behind-the-back, no-look, half-volley drop shot[/caption]
But even by the Frenchman’s lofty standards, his epic effort at the Hangzhou Open in China was truly remarkable.
Moutet, 25, produced the bonkers piece of skill after serving against Roberto Carballes Baena.
The world No69 lefty followed up his decent serve with a powerful forehand into the corner, forcing his Spanish opponent to stretch and launch the ball high in the air.
It was not clear if the ball would bounce over the net and back into play – but if it did, Carballes Baena had already given up on the point as Moutet had an easy putaway smash.
However, rather than easily putting the ball into the empty court, the unconventional ace had other ideas.
Then he inexplicably produced a no-look, behind-the-back half-volley drop shot that floated deftly just over the net at an extraordinary angle to win the point in gobsmacking fashion.
Moutet nor Carballas Baena appeared to give any reaction at all to his spellbinding winner.
A third added: “Moutet is TROLLING no way he pulled this off.”
A fourth commented: “An absolute maverick.”
A fifth replied: “This is next-level tennis magic right here.”
Then a final user typed: “Moutet would rather be a highlight reel than winning the game.”
And that appeared to ring true.
Because despite his viral trick shot, fiery Moutet crashed out, losing 7-6 6-1 to Carballes Baena in round one.

Tennis stars’ new careers
PLENTY of tennis stars have stayed involved in the sport since retiring.
But others pursued very different careers. Here are some of the best…

She enjoys more than just bodybuilding though, as she successfully ran the London Marathon in 2013.
How did Olly and Amelia meet?
Olly met Amelia through a very modern method- he saw her pictures on Instagram.
A source told The Sun on Sunday at the time: “Amelia’s Instagram feed caught his eye and they started swapping flirty messages.”
The source added that they then met up at an Essex gym in July and agreed to date from there.

Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark have landed a second series of their BBC travel show Grand Tour[/caption]
It follows months of talks to choose a destination to match their previous outing.
While Greece, Spain and France were all considered, I can now reveal they will head east for a season entitled A Passage To India, named after the 1924 novel by E.M. Forster.
An insider said: “It took a long time to decide where to send Rob and Rylan after their first series — a hard act to follow. But series two will see them travelling across India to experience its unique culture, architecture and art.
“It’s going to be as action- pack as the first series, if not more, and being so far away from home will no doubt see Rob and Rylan experience plenty of firsts.”
Last year the pals journeyed from Venice to Florence and Rome.
It comes as no surprise that it led to a second series — which I previously revealed — because the fan reaction and viewing figures were equally impressive.
A source said: “The team behind the show didn’t want to take a gap year before starting work again, and Rob and Rylan wanted to hit the road.”
In series one, the duo followed in the footsteps of society Brits from the 17th to 19th centuries who visited Italy to broaden their minds.
Renaissance fan Rob introduced Rylan to art, architecture and history, while at times his friend gave him confidence to step out of his own comfort zone.

THE tragic death of the Fatman Scoop, aged just 56, last month shocked the music industry.
And now, I have been told a number of his famous pals, including Rihanna and her boyfriend Asap Rocky have come together to pay tribute to the rapper, who collapsed on stage at a gig in Connecticut.

Some of his famous pals, including Rihanna and Asap Rocky, have come together to pay tribute to the rapper[/caption]
Insiders told me that Ri-Ri was in the Red Bus Recording Studios in central London earlier this week recording vocals to a track for the late hip hop star.
A source said: “Rihanna and Scoop knew each other well.
“They had collaborated before and more recently Scoop had recorded a song, Hood Happy, on Rocky’s upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb.
“After his death, Rihanna and other artists were offered the chance to put some vocals down on a song for him.
“She spent the start of this week holed up in Red Bus Recording Studios.
“It was a super-low key visit and she was there for a day or two until the early hours.”
Last month, Rocky revealed he had recorded Hood Happy with Scoop, as well as Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes, Flavor Flav and Morrissey.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rocky said: “I tried to figure out how to get my favourite rappers.
“So I got a track with Fatman Scoop, Flavour Flav, Slick Rick, Morrissey and Busta Rhymes all on one.
“It’s kind of nuts. We call that one Hood Happy. That’s coming soon.”
Rocky ended up pushing back the release date of Don’t Be Dumb, which was supposed to come out on August 30, telling his fans he wanted to make the “best album ever,” meaning the track still has not been heard.
And I would not be surprised if Rocky had chosen to make some changes on the tune to pay tribute to Scoop.
Last month, we revealed how Rihanna had started work on her much anticipated new record.
Insiders told us the singer had gone back to the studio to continue working on her ninth album, which is the follow up to her 2016 record Anti.
It’s been a long time coming but I have no doubt Rihanna’s album, and Rocky’s, will both be worth the wait.
As for the Scoop tribute, I am sure releasing that will be a priority.
BROTHERS GET BUSTED
BUSTED and McFly teamed up for McBusted in 2013 and now it looks they have formed another supergroup – with The Jonas Brothers.
Busted and McFly joined The Jonas Brothers on stage for their two shows at London’s O2 Arena this week[/caption]
Sadly The Busted Brothers doesn’t have the same ring to it.
The British trio joined Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas on stage for their two shows at London’s O2 Arena this week to perform Year 3000.
It was a No2 hit in the UK for Busted in 2003, then was covered by the American siblings in 2007, with that version selling more than a million copies in the States.
Following the performances, they posed backstage for this photo, which I am sure will make a lot of women of a certain age very happy.
They’re looking even better now than they did in the Noughties.
She’s a Mindy doll
I THINK Emily In Paris actress Ashley Parks might have borrowed this look from the show’s costume department.
Emily in Paris star Ashley Parks stunned on a night out in a pair of sequin hot-pants and a blazer[/caption]
In the Netflix series, which is so mind-numbingly basic it’s actually good, Ashley’s character Mindy is known for her edgy fashion choices.
And I love this look on Ashley, who was spotted on a night out with her co-star Lily Collins in a pair of sequin hot-pants and a blazer.
The show has now been handed a fifth series by Netflix which will follow Lily’s character Emily’s new life in Rome.
She better take Mindy with her, even if it is just for her outrageous outfit choices.
SYDNIE: KING SO CUDDLY
SHE will perform for King Charles at the Royal Variety Show on November 22 – but the only thing Sydnie Christmas is worried about is keeping her hands to herself.

“They are going to have to tell me to behave, because I’d want to hug him,” said Sydnie, in an exclusive chat.
“I’d want to hug them all, but you’ve got to just curtsy.”
The BGT winner’s new covers album, My Way, is out on October 4, and when she comes off her accompanying nationwide tour, Sydnie wants to focus on writing her own songs.
She said: “I would love to do originals. But on my new album, we didn’t have time. It was a crazy.
“I hope I get another opportunity to write songs again, because I haven’t written one in about three years.”

A YEAR on from being hospitalised due to kidney issues, Liam Payne says he’s finally in a good place.
Liam Payne has moved to the US and is doing well a year on from being hospitalised due to kidney issues[/caption]
The One Direction singer, has ditched the UK for Miami, Florida.
Speaking on Snapchat, Liam said: “I’ve wanted to live in Florida since I was little as we used to go to Disneyland all the time.
“It is a beautiful place and I have good friends who take care of me. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
Liam appears to have put his second album on hold despite quietly working away on new music for over a year.
In March he released Teardrops, a track we all thought would be the lead single, but so far we’ve heard nothing else from Liam.
But he’s back on track, so us fans will wait until he is good and ready.
FEST BOSS BACKS OASIS
ISLE of Wight Festival boss John Giddings has defended Noel and Liam Gallagher in the wake of Oasis’ reunion gigs ticket debacle.
Isle of Wight Festival boss John Giddings has defended Oasis amid the gigs ticket debacle[/caption]
The brothers put on two more Wembley dates and introduced a new ticketing system after Ticketmaster struggled to cope with the millions of fans desperate to get to a show.
Oasis had come under fire for exorbitant “dynamic pricing”, which they said was down to Ticketmaster.
Speaking at the launch of Experience 25 – an exhibition celebrating the 25-year history of the Isle of Wight Festival – at London’s O2 on Wednesday, John, said: “I think they expected a big demand, I don’t think they expected more than ten million people to apply for over a million tickets.
“What people don’t realise, what the general public don’t appreciate, is that within a ticket price 20 per cent of it goes to the government in VAT before you begin.
“It’s ten times more expensive to put on shows since Covid, since Brexit, since all of that, and artists want to present a show.
“The back screen, the fireworks and everything going off with it.
“That’s what audiences want because we can see by the number of tickets they’re buying. People vote with their feet – if they don’t want to come then we’re all dead in the water.”
John added: “Once upon a time I put three David Bowie shows on sale at Wembley Arena, 24,000 tickets.
“I got a demand of 250,000 tickets but everybody had sent in a stamped and addressed envelope with a cheque, so what I did was I sent them all back a ticket for Milton Keynes and sold out three nights at Milton Keynes.”
Now that’s a clever move.
Kind Tom’s home truth
TOM GRENNAN is back with a new single – and it’s another belter.
Tom Grennan’s new single Higher is out today[/caption]
The song, Higher, is out today and he gave me an exclusive look at the artwork that goes with it.
Tom is one of my favourite British singers and since I last saw him perform at Glastonbury, I’ve been championing everything he does.
And he has been sharing the fruits of his success, revealing that he helped to pay off the mortgage on his parents’ home.
Former footballer Tom, who used to play for Luton Town, said: “To be able to do that for my parents – they’ve always been those parents who’ll do anything for me and my brother.
“To give them something back was such a lovely feeling. But I didn’t think about it. It was like, ‘Oh I’ve got that money, sweet, I’ll do that’.”
What a legend.
BOXERS Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are facing off at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night – but the only thing I am going to be tuning in for is Liam Gallagher.
The Oasis rocker will perform before the bout in what will be his first solo concert following the news of the Britpop legends’ reunion.
You can listen live to the performance on Virgin Radio with my pal Ben Jones from 9pm.
Get it on the Virgin Radio UK app, DAB digital radio or, if you’re a sofa slob like me, just ask your smart speaker to play Virgin Radio UK.
CHART BATTLER KATY AIMS TO GET 143 TO 1
THE tussle for top album kicks off today with a raft of releases.
Katy Perry has dropped her new record 143[/caption]
Katy Perry has dropped her new record 143, but she faces tough competition from rock band Blossoms, who have released their fifth album Gary.
Also out today is Jamie XX’s collection In Waves, which I have already had a sneaky listen to and is one of the best dance records of the year.
As well as collaborations with Robyn and Honey Dijon, it features his new single Waited All Night, on which he teams up with his The XX bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim.
Rising star ST Lundi has released his debut album The Island, which includes an amazing song about divorce called Different Houses. You can catch him on his UK tour in November.
And for a slice of pop fun, Ava Max has returned with her single Spot A Fake.

1 day agoWorld LeaksComments Off on I discovered mysterious underwater ‘pyramid’ dubbed ‘real-life Atlantis’…& experts still aren’t sure where it came from
A DIVER has discovered a series of mysterious “pyramids” on the ocean floor, dubbing it the “real life Atlantis”.
The hidden gem was undiscovered until a local diver, Kihachiro Aratake, made the stunning discovery.
A diver in Japan discovered a series of underwater structure off the coast of Japan[/caption]
The hidden gem laid undiscovered until 1987[/caption]
Kihachiro Aratake said he was emotion when he first came across the structure[/caption]
Aratake was diving off the coast of Yonaguni Island in Japan when he spotted the towering underwater pyramids.
Speaking to BBC Global, he said: “I was very emotional when I found it.
“I realised that this would become a treasure of Yonaguni Island. I kept it a secret.
“I didn’t tell anyone on my staff.”
Also known as the Yonaguni Monument, one of the formations has been nicknamed the ‘Atlantis’ due to its size and structure.
The stunning underwater formation is 164ft long and 65ft wide and features spiralling steps and flat surfaces.
The mysterious underwater structure has baffled locals, with some believing the pyramids were the remains of a lost civilisation.
However, not everyone is convinced that the monument was man-made or if it was a natural formation shaped by the ocean currents.
Scientists currently believe the monument is thousands of years old, and have questioned whether humans would have been able to make such impressive formations so long ago.
A group of scientists led by Masaaki Kimura from Ryukyu University began researching the mysterious rock formations after the discovery was made in 1987.
The research scientist said there was vast evidence of man’s influence on the structures.
Professor Kimura said: “I think it’s very difficult to explain away their origins as being purely natural.
Meanwhile, Professor Ichhi from the same university told Aratake that he had discovered something “puzzling”.
Professor Robert Schoch from Boston University believes the structure is man-made.
“The rocks of this group are also criss-crossed by numerous sets of parallel, vertically oriented joints in the rock.
“These joints are natural.”
Someone else who’s not convinced the structure is man-made is diver Kenzo Watanabe.
The diver believes that what he witnessed was “not natural”.
He said: “What first triggered me to go to Yonaguni is that if it was appointed as an archaeological site, it was rumoured that we wouldn’t be able to dive there anymore.
“So I decided to go while I still could.
“I got together with a group of diving instructors that I’m close with and we all took vacation time to go.
“After seeing it, there’s no way I think it’s not man-made.
“Especially with all the flat surfaces. It was really overwhelming, with so many different surfaces and symmetrical shapes.
“I think it’s definitely not natural. I really wondered how it was made.
“It made me think about the kind of tools people may have used back then.
“It’s so mysterious.”
What is the lost city of Atlantis?
THE legend of Atlantis is a story about a Utopian civilisation that existed thousands of years ago. Told by philosopher Plato, the story describes a city made up of islands connected by water and overrun with gold, silver and exotic animals. The people living there became greedy and immoral, and the gods punished them by sending fire and earthquakes – causing Atlantis to sink into the sea.It has sat there since, some parts preserved on the seabed, forever lost. Some have suggested Atlantis existed in the Mediterranean, off the Spanish coast, or even in Antarctica. But most people don’t believe Atlantis – which apparently existed 9,000 years before Plato himself – was real. While volcanic eruptions and huge floods have happened over the course of history – most scientists do not think a mythical city of immoral ancient people fell pray to one, sinking to the bottom of the sea.
It’s not the first time someone has claimed to have discovered a real-life Atlantis.
Immersed in the sea due to the Earth‘s volcanic activity, the lost city of Baia is a unique underwater archaeological wonder near Napoli.
Stunning pictures clicked by photographer Franco Banfi during his dive reveal the secrets of the sunken Roman city that has laid still underwater for hundreds of years.
Multiple statues – likely of some great Roman men – can be seen lying around with moss covering their entire bodies.
Other pictures reveal the ancient mosaics that can be seen adorning the sea floor.
According to legends, the city – which once sat over natural volcanic vents – was famous for its healing medicinal hot springs which occurred all around the city and were quite easy to build spas over.
After the city remains were emptied, the water level slowly started to rise due to the same volcanic vents that once attracted great Roman men towards the stunning city – eventually swallowing the entire place.
While the city is no longer a resort, it is still a fascinating piece of Roman history – and ancient remains of Baia can be visited by tourists.
The sunken landmass has been detailed in a new study that could provide insight into early human migration.
This “lost Atlantis” has been submerged for over 70,000 years, according to research published in Quaternary Science Reviews.
Now, thanks to sonar technology, scientists have been able to map the vast piece of land.
“We’re talking about a landscape that’s quite submerged, more than 330 feet below sea level today,” Kasih Norman, an archeologist at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia, and lead author on the new study, told Live Science.
The research reveals that the now-underwater territory that once connected present-day Kimberley and Arnhem Land.
