I feel humiliated after my husband’s affair – everybody in our village knows

DEAR DEIDRE: MY whole village is laughing at me after my husband’s indiscreet affair.

This other woman works in the local convenience store, her kids go to the same school as mine and she brings her cat into the vets where I work.

There is no escape from her — it’s so painful.

There are reminders of his infidelity at every corner and I’m furious that he would do this so close to home — the selfish idiot.

I am 41 and my husband is 43. We have been together for 15 years and have two boys at primary school.

I thought we were happy together.

But one day when I dropped a friend off after yoga, I spotted my husband’s car at a house down a remote lane.

I pulled in to watch and soon enough he came out, kissed this half-dressed woman at the door and then got in his car. She is 38 and divorced with a daughter aged eight.

She has a terrible reputation and is openly predatory with any man.

My husband denied everything but when I told him what I had seen he admitted he’d been seeing her for three months.

I asked him to leave but he refused, saying he was sorry and that I should ignore her.

Neighbours now give me knowing looks and other school mums sympathetic ones. They obviously all know what has been going on.

I want to move and get away from this situation. We are still together but I can’t stand to be near him. I feel trapped.

DEIDRE'S STORIES

Nico's friend asks him about his new girlfriend who has autism

DEIDRE SAYS: You have every right to feel upset.

He is trying to dismiss your feelings in the hope that you and he can move on and forget what happened but if he isn’t prepared to acknowledge the damage he has done, you will never be able to rebuild the trust between you.

He has to try to make it up to you and face up to his actions. If he can’t do that your relationship may be over.

Take your time and don’t make rash decisions about moving.

An affair doesn’t have to mean the end of a marriage.

But your husband has given you every reason to feel insecure in your relationship and unless he is prepared to rebuild the trust, going your separate ways may be the best answer.

Good Mythical Morning duo Rhett and Link’s rise from classmates to multimillionaire Youtube dream team

RHETT McLaughlin and Link Neal, creators of the popular YouTube channel Good Mythical Morning, went from childhood friends to multimillionaires.

The pair have become YouTube pioneers through their creativity and business ventures.

In 2008 they became partners when they opened their YouTube channel[/caption]

Link Neal was born on June 1, 1978, in Durham, North Carolina.

When he was two years old, his parents divorced and his mother remarried, which led them to move to Buies Creek.

Rhett McLaughlin was born on October 11, 1977 in Macon, Georgia.

His family moved to Buies Creek in 1984.

Classmates

Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal first met on September 4, 1984, on their first day of first grade at Buies Creek Elementary School.

Their friendship was sealed early on when they were caught writing swear words on their desks, resulting in them being kept inside during recess.

During this detention, they were given colouring books with mythical creatures.

Teenage time and university

As teenagers, Rhett and Link began exploring their creative side, starting with the writing of a screenplay at the age of fourteen titled Gutless Wonders.

Although the film was never completed, they revisited it years later by reading it in episodes of Good Mythical Morning.

Their high school years also saw the pair making a parody film of the classic Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex, with Rhett starring as Oedipus and Link playing the servant of Oedipus’ father.

Additionally, they were part of a Christian punk rock band called ‘The Wax Paper Dogz’.

After high school, both attended North Carolina State University.

Rhett studied civil engineering and graduated magna cum laude, which means with great honour, in 2000.

Link pursued industrial engineering, graduating summa cum laude, which means with the highest honour, in 2001.

During his junior year of college, Link met his future wife Christy White at a rollerskating rink.

The pair married in 2000 in Kinston, NC and they have three children together, Lilian Grace Neal, Charles Lincoln Neal IV and Lando James Neal.

Rhett met his wife Jessica in college as well and they married in June 2001.

Life after graduation

They briefly worked in their respective fields but they continued collaborating on creative projects.

Their involvement with a religious organisation called Cru allowed them to hone their comedic talents by creating videos and sketches for meetings and conferences.

Their time with Cru sparked their desire to pursue a career in entertainment.

YouTube Beginnings

Rhett and Link started by creating videos for their website and eventually transitioned to YouTube, which was emerging as a platform for creators.

In 2008, they launched their Good Mythical Morning channel, which was a blend of quirky talk show segments, comedy sketches, and unique challenges.

Their natural charisma and hilarious chemistry quickly caught the attention of viewers.

In the early days of YouTube, they also created branded content and commercials for companies like McDonald’s, Alka-Seltzer, and Amazon.

These ads combined their signature style of humour with a marketing edge.

Their talk show ‘Good Mythical Morning’ debuted in 2012[/caption]

In 2012, their show ‘Good Mythical Morning’ officially debuted and became Rhett and Link’s flagship show.

The daily format, where they discussed quirky topics, took part in wacky food challenges, and shared random facts.

Over the years, the show evolved to include even more elaborate segments and production value.

Their content became increasingly sophisticated, and they began diversifying their offerings with additional channels, including Mythical Kitchen, Good Mythical MORE, and their podcast, Ear Biscuits.

They also explored music, creating comedic songs and videos like ‘The S’mores Song’ and ‘Epic Rap Battle of Manliness’.

Mythical Entertainment

As their popularity surged, Rhett and Link transformed their passion into a business.

In 2017 they founded Mythical Entertainment, a company that oversees their various ventures, including video production, podcasts, live shows, merchandise, and digital content.

With the expansion of their business, they began to hire a team of creatives and production experts to help build the Mythical brand.

Buying Smosh

In 2019, they made a major move in the YouTube space by acquiring the channel Smosh, one of the platform’s longest-running comedy groups.

This acquisition came after Smosh’s parent company, Defy Media, abruptly shut down in late 2018, leaving the channel and its creators in a state of uncertainty.

The shutdown occurred after Defy Media failed to manage its business operations.

The deal was reportedly worth around $10 million.

Diversifying into New Media

Beyond YouTube, Rhett and Link have successfully branched out into other media.

They have authored books, including ‘The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek’, a novel that blends humor with mystery.

The duo have also toured the US, performing live shows for their massive fanbase, and have appeared on traditional media outlets like The Tonight Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Their podcast, Ear Biscuits, allows them to dive deeper into conversations and explore more personal and philosophical topics, giving fans a different glimpse into their dynamic.

Wealth and Influence

In September 2023, Forbes Magazine estimated Rhett and Link’s net worth to be around £29.35 million ($34.75 million).

Their business, Mythical Entertainment, generates revenue through multiple streams, including ad revenue, sponsorships, merchandise sales, live shows, and the Mythical Society subscription service.

Their YouTube empire reaches millions of viewers, with GMM boasting over 18.8 million subscribers and billions of views.

‘I’d expect a foul’ – Paul Merson claims Arsenal’s winner at Tottenham shouldn’t have stood as VAR fails to intervene

PAUL MERSON reckons Arsenal’s winner in the North London Derby SHOULDN’T have stood.

The Gunners ran out 1-0 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon thanks to a bullet second-half header from Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Brazilian buffeted fellow centre-back Cristian Romero out of the way before heading the ball past a helpless Guglielmo Vicario.

Romero didn’t make a meal of the contact and go to ground, something former Gunner Merson believes he was more than entitled to do.

The Sky Sports pundit said: “I would be disappointed if I didn’t get a foul.

“[Romero] is in the wrong position, everything is wrong about his defending. He’s an international centre-half.

“Even I know, and I don’t play at the back, that you’ve got to be side-on, seeing the ball and your player.

“To start off with you’ve got to be a hand-length away [from him] and he was standing with him.

“I do think – I’d expect a foul. I would expect a foul.”

Victory for Mikel Arteta‘s troops was their THIRD on the spin at the home of their fiercest rivals.

And they triumphed without the services of star midfielders Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, the latter of whom was serving a needless suspension for his red card against Brighton before the international break.

A jubilant Arteta said of the win: “We have the power to make a lot of people happy and proud.

“We certainly did that today in the manner that we won the game in the circumstances that we had before arriving into this match.

“And with this being the third consecutive away win here as well, it means a lot. So hopefully, they can enjoy it.

“There are certain things that we have to do better for sure.

“Especially the simple things with the ball that I wasn’t happy at all with.

“But there are other things in the game that we have to do and the way we competed and defended.

“And the way we have the intention all the time to run in the spaces that they give you, it was unbelievable.

“Then you have to find a way to win in any context, and today it was tricky, because first of all they are a great opponent.

“Secondly because we have to alter our plan quite a lot for the players that we had, and then you still win the game.”

Arsenal will be back in action on Thursday night in their Champions League opener against Atalanta.

The North Londoners will then travel to defending Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

Now the reality TV star has told fans she finally knows what she’s having – but will be making them wait a little bit long before finding out.

Taking to Instagram to share a snap of her with Noah, Charlotte wrote: “We went for the gender scan yesterday [blue and pink hearts emoji]. Now we fully know, can’t wait to show you all soon. Promise I won’t keep you waiting too long. Just want to do a cute gender reveal.”

Charlotte also added to poll to ask her followers to make their guesses.

Last week she attended the National Television Awards and spoke to The Sun about her third pregnancy.

She said: “This time, I do feel really sick and I do feel different to the boys so come on, let’s pray for pink!

“I hope [it’s a girl] as I think it is just so meant to be.

“My mum has got all of my little outfits from when I was a little girl and I feel like it would just be really special and I think I need a mini-me! I need to dress a little mini-me.”

Charlotte has faced a difficult time during her current pregnancy.

She kicked rugby player Matt, 33, out of their home after leaning he’d been messaging another woman behind her back.

The Sun later told how Charlotte had allowed Matt to return after their romance hiccup in a bid to move forward as a family.

But she hinted nothing was set in stone about their future as she revealed they were “taking each day as it comes” as well as having a clear focus on their “two beautiful boys”

MAFS star SPLITS with DJ boyfriend – just weeks after dad’s sad death

FORMER Married At First Sight star Jessika Power has confirmed her split from British DJ Brent Anthony, following a challenging few weeks marked by personal loss.

The 31-year-old reality star, who first gained fame on the sixth season of MAFS Australia, subtly revealed the news on social media.

Earlier this month, Jessika took to Instagram with a sultry photo where she was dressed in pink lingerie.

She captioned the post: “Dreamy day of content, you know where to see the rest”.

One follower who was clearly in the know expressed sadness over her break up with Brent, commenting: “I’m sad you and Brent broke up, you looked so happy with him.”

Jessika responded candidly, saying: “I really wasn’t and I hid a lot of my emotions and embarrassment from the internet.”

Hints of the split had surfaced days prior during an Instagram Q&A, where Jessika mentioned that her dog Sushi was living in France with her ex.

She explained: “Sushi is with my ex because I had to leave in a rush for my father’s funeral.”

The reality star added that she was trying to arrange a flight for Sushi to the UK as she feels bad for Brent having to look after her dog despite the couple not being together anymore.

The split appears to have been amicable, as Jessika added: “Brent and I have a lot of care for each other.”

In recent weeks the devastated TV personality shared the heartbreaking news of her father’s passing with followers.

She shared a pictured of herself with her late dad and wrote: “…doesn’t feel real. We love you dad. I hope you’re up there having a port with your mates and looking down on us missing you forever.”

The MAFS favourite had a closer relationship with her father Troy than with her mum, whom she distanced herself from some years ago.

Troy and Jessika were estranged for many years but reconnected and formed a strong bond six years before she starred on MAFS in 2019.

Speaking on Lads Dads And Couple Of Beers Podcast, Jessika previously opened up about her tough childhood.

“My mother has sold stories on me, I’ve had best friends sell stories on me,” Jessika claimed.

“My mother and I haven’t had a relationship in about seven years but she decided four years ago that we were really close and sold stories that were completely fabricated and false.”
