Married At First Sight grooms in fiery exchange of words just MINUTES into new series over cheating comments

MARRIED At First Sight fans were left completely in shock in the grooms were involved in a fiery exchange.

Just minutes into the Channel 4 reality format, viewers were treated to drama even before any of the couples tied the knot.

On the show, the brides and grooms meet each other in seperate groups that are meant to represent stag and hen gatherings.

However, the boys seemed to be on cracking form as many of them argued before the process even officially kicked off.

Married At First Sight was previously plunged into chaos after contestant, Alex Henry was accused of abuse.

After E4 shared his promo reel online, he was pelted with allegations as one user branded him a “dangerous individual”.

However, viewers were shocked when the rest of the grooms and 30-year-old Charlie questioned his motives.

Alex even spoke about a potential wife swap, which raised huge alarm bells with the rest of the group.

Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – one viewer posted “Alex eyeing up everyone else’s wife,” along with a crazy eye animated GIF.

Another remarked: “Oh this guy said he would do a wife swap already like w**.”

“No, don’t give Alex the benefit of the doubt! He’s a wrongun,” stated a third user.

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “Not a great start from Alex.”

And a fifth viewer added: “So we know Alex is gonna be trouble.”

Alex then accused his fellow grooms of “ganging up” on him

A group of women previously clubbed together to petition Channel 4 to reconsider airing scenes including the personal trainer from Birmingham.

They say they have presented evidence of their allegations to the broadcaster and they even reached out to celebrity dating expert Mel Schilling.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

Despite acknowledging the claims, Channel 4 has confirmed Alex will remain in the edit.

When approached by The Sun, a Channel 4 spokesperson said: “MAFS UK contributors are subject to rigorous background vetting, including multiple independent psychological evaluations and a criminal record check before they can be cleared to take part.

“We cast contributors based on the information we are legally able to access and we continue to review this process to ensure checks are as thorough as legally possible.”

Beloved ITV game show with celebrity host ‘set to be shelved’ after seven series on air

A BELOVED ITV game show with a celebrity host is ‘set to be shelved’ after seven series on air.

Tenable is a game show that sees contestants attempt to win up to £125,000.

Tenable is fronted by Warwick Davis[/caption]

It’s played by a team of five people, which consists of four team mates and a team captain, and they know each other well.

The teammates might be family members friends, colleagues, or have some other link.

And the captain has to try and get as many teammates through to the final as possible.

All they have to do is fill in different category lists of 10 items each by guessing the correct answers.

It’s fronted by actor Warwick Davis, but, sadly for Tenable fans, it has been reported that there is no indication that the show will return to ITV in its 3pm weekday slot.

Tenable hasn’t been in production for two years, and ITV are reported to have held episodes back to air in the last few weeks.

The Sun has contacted ITV for comment.

As well as hosting Tenable, Warwick is known for many acting roles, including in Star WarsHarry Potter, and Willow.

His first role was as an Ewok extra in Star Wars but when Kenny Baker, who was originally going to play Wicket fell ill, he was asked to fill the post.

In 1987, Warwick was called to Elstree Studios to discuss a new film called Willow, which was written with him specifically in mind.

The actor then played the role of Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011.

In addition to playing Flitwick, Warwick also portrayed goblin Griphook in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

In his personal life, on March 24, 2024, Warwick’s wife Samantha passed away at the age of 53.

He said: “Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs.

“She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.”

In 2019, the actor revealed that Samantha had been struggling with sepsis.

Warwick exclusively told The Sun that her health dramatically declined ahead of a family holiday. “Sam was feeling absolutely terrible,” Warwick recalled.

“She was becoming drowsy, weak and hadn’t been to the toilet in over 24 hours.

“Fortunately for us, our doctor recognised Sam’s symptoms and told us to head to A&E immediately with a suspected case of sepsis.”

Warwick met his late wife Samantha in 1988 when she was an extra on the set of the film Willow, which he had the leading role in.

They dated for years before getting married in June 1991 in front of family and friends.

Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber avoided a red card at Tottenham because of a ‘safe call’ from the referee

JURRIEN TIMBER avoided a red card at Tottenham because referee Jarred Gillett played it ‘safe’.

Top former referee Mark Halsey ran the rule over the weekend’s Premier League action exclusively for SunSport.

The Arsenal full-back was only given a yellow card

It wouldn’t be the North London derby without some boiling tempers and on-pitch drama – and Timber ensured Sunday’s clash was no different in his first game against Spurs.

The former Ajax defender left one on Pedro Porro after a crunching challenge but didn’t hear the whistle that came later.

Timber, 23, caught his Spurs counterpart on the ankle after he went over the ball with his studs, which Gillett deemed a yellow card.

When asked for his take on the incident, Halsey said: “The temperature was rising, the game was reaching boiling point.

“I think perhaps the referee just took the safe bet and issued a yellow card for a reckless challenge.

“Now, listen, when we look at Law 12 (Misconduct) a careless challenge is a yellow card, okay? A reckless challenge is a free kick and a yellow card.

“And a challenge that endangers the player’s safety with excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned with a red card.

“Now, it’s subjective, but for me, I thought they got it absolutely spot on.

“I thought it was a reckless challenge, free kick and a yellow card. I didn’t think it met the criteria of a serious foul play.

VAR looks at those challenges and they stayed with the on-field decision, which was correct.

“I think the fact that he was on top of the ball and then his studs just went into the shin, I think that deemed it a reckless challenge.

“So, listen, on another day, another referee may have just seen it as a careless.”

But the chaos didn’t stop there.

Arsenal ratings vs Spurs as Gabriel is the hero in feisty North London derby

GABRIEL headed in the only goal of the game as a depleted Arsenal snatched all three points in the North London Derby.

Here’s how SunSport’s Lloyd Canfield rated the Gunners players…

DAVID RAYA – 8/10

Commanded his area well, and was a safe pair of hands throughout the game. Another great showing in what has been a spectacular start for the Spanish stopper.

JURRIEN TIMBER – 7

Did well from an attacking perspective, charging down the left hand side on various occasions. Solid defensively too against Spurs’ flying right side of Johnson and Porro.

Some would argue he should’ve been sent off for a challenge on Pedro Porro in the first half, but he escaped despite squaring up to Vicario in the aftermath.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 8

A really good recovery challenge in the first half to deny Dominic Solanke, despite being booked early on.

You can always count on Saliba to put in a solid display, and he didn’t disappoint today with fantastic passing out from the back too.

GABRIEL – 9

A fantastic defensive showing throughout, reinforced with a towering header inside the box to give his side the lead from a set piece (shock).

Has formed an impeccable partnership with Saliba, personified by their heartwarming celebration together after the opener. He’s the man.

BEN WHITE – 6

Gave away the ball in a dangerous position in the first half, with Solanke failing to capitalise and had a tough first half against the quick feet of Heung Min-Son.

Was not able to demonstrate the dangerous right-hand side overlap we saw work so effectively last season, but wasn’t threatened in the second 45.

JORGINHO – 4

Struggled to replace the suspended Declan Rice for this North London derby, whom the Gunners really missed.

A tough task, but didn’t come close to matching Rice’s intensity or ability to drive the ball up the pitch which left Arsenal weak in the forward areas.

THOMAS PARTEY – 5

Struggled in transition with Jorginho alongside him, another player who felt the full force of no Rice and Odegaard.

Not fast enough with or without the ball, and will need to perk his ideas up for City next week.

GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 6

Looked like a bright spark with his running and forward movement, but was let down by his end product or lack thereof.

Worked really really hard throughout, just looks short of confidence in the last actions.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 6

Dropping deeper into more of a midfield role than he’s used to today, it should be noted that he did a job for the team when they needed him.

Not the flying efficiency machine we have seen him be from the bench, but his versatility will be needed this season it seems.

BUKAYO SAKA – 7

Didn’t make the kind of impact on the game we are used to seeing from the brilliant Bukayo Saka, and looked less of a threat without Martin Odegaard to combine with.

Did some really good defensive work nonetheless, and delivered the perfect corner to claim the assist for Gabriel’s opener.

KAI HAVERTZ – 6

A good header in the first half was saved well by Vicario in the spurs net – actually made more clearances (3) than he managed shots on target (2) in the first 45.

Was a handful for the Spurs defence, but largely nullified by the pace and power of Mickey Van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

Not reacting to the ref’s whistle, Timber continued with the ball at his feet until he reached the byline next to Guglielmo Vicario‘s goal.

Porro’s Tottenham teammates reacted angrily in response and a scuffle broke out between the two teams with plenty of pushing and shoving.

Vicario was then booked for instigating the melee as VAR again checked the aftermath.

On whether Timber should have received a second yellow for the confrontation with Vicario, Halsey said: “We’ve been talking about we don’t want to see too many yellow and red cards.

“And I thought Vicario deserved his yellow card because he adopted aggressive attitude towards the opponent.

“Now, some may be a bit cynical and say Timber perhaps should have got a second yellow card. But not for me because he wasn’t the aggressor.

“He was sort of putting his hands up to try and protect himself. So I thought, again, I thought they handled that well.

“And if there was any other unseen incident, VAR would have picked it up.”

Meanwhile Arsenal players called for a penalty when the ball accidentally struck Cristian Romero‘s arm inside 18 minutes.

Kai Havertz‘ close range header was saved by Vicario with the ball rebounding onto Romero’s arm after the home side started brightly.

Halsey added: Well, it has to be a deliberate act, a deliberate movement of the arm to the ball, and making yourself unnaturally bigger.

“And that handball didn’t meet the criteria. Absolutely, Gillett was spot on, not to give a handball.”

Huw Edwards ruined my son’s life, why on earth isn’t he going to jail, says mum who first blew whistle on BBC paedo

THE mother who first blew the whistle on predatory Huw Edwards last night demanded to know why he was not jailed — and said he ruined her son’s life.

Disgraced BBC News anchor Edwards paid her vulnerable son £35,000 in return for the lad sending sexually explicit images of himself.

The lad’s mum said: ‘I’m devastated Edwards hasn’t gone to prison for the things he did’[/caption]

In the separate case of paedophile Alex Williams, it emerged yesterday that Edwards had paid him £1,500 for horrific child abuse videos from the dark web.

The star was messaging and paying Williams and the unidentified teenager at the same time during 2020 and 2021.

Edwards was given a six-month suspended prison sentence yesterday after he admitted making indecent images of children.

But the teenager’s mum said last night: “I’m devastated Edwards hasn’t gone to prison for the things he did. He’s exploited young children for his own sick ends and should have been jailed.

“As a mother, I just cannot comprehend why anyone would share those kinds of pictures and videos.

“When I heard Edwards had a degrading picture of a boy as young as seven on his phone at the same time as he was messaging my son from that same phone, I just couldn’t believe it.”

She also questioned whether he really felt “any remorse” as he had shown none to her or her family in the 14 months since she exposed him as a sexual predator.

The Sun revealed her son had spent Edwards’ money on drugs as his life spiralled out of control.

During several years of contact with the lad, Edwards would call him “good boy” and “princess” in creepy messages.

Despite their 40-year age gap, Edwards also sent messages saying things such as: “I love you . . . but you kill me x”.

The mother said: “It‘s not good enough by the judge. He’s let a sexual predator go free. “All of the excuses he used as to why he did what he did, they don’t seem genuine at all.

“He claimed he had vulnerability and mental health [issues] as a way to avoid jail but he was happy to groom my vulner-able son and prey on his addiction.

“He should know how bad that is if he also suffers with addictions, as he claims. I don’t believe he has any remorse because look at how he behaved after we revealed what he did to my son.

“He still tried to pay him off after that. He’s still as dangerous now as he was then and he should be in prison.

“The court should have properly punished Edwards and sent him to prison for a very long time.

“Because unless he is sent to prison, where is the real punishment?

Paedo's pattern of behaviour

By Scarlet Howes

NIGHT after night he sternly delivered the most important news to the nation, with his authoritative style winning countless awards.

But away from his famous desk, as we have discovered, Huw Edwards was a manipulative paedophile who used the same pattern of behaviour time and time again to feed his relentless desires.

Some 437 days since the Sun’s bombshell front page – Edwards today appeared in court to learn his fate, his once glittering career in ruins.

Our exclusive that he paid a youngster thousands of pounds for sexual pictures made headlines around the globe and set into motion a series of events which plunged the BBC into crisis.

And Edwards – at the time the BBC’s highest earning newsreader – never again appeared on our screens.

Today, a court heard Edwards paid a younger convicted paedophile £1,500 for child sex images and videos of children which he described as “amazing”.

The case centred on messages between sex offender Alex Williams, who was a teen when they struck up a relationship, and 63-year-old Edwards.

We must be clear, the facts of that case are unrelated to our original story.

But there are some alarming similarities in his exchanges with both young people – and a pattern of deeply disturbing behaviour.

He made contact with both on social media, messaged them on WhatsApp, harassed them for pictures, and then gave them money.

There were kisses involved and Christmas presents given.

Chillingly, he even bought both of them, who are decades younger, a pair of trainers.

And all in exchange for sexual pictures.

Cash was used as leverage to the men, one homeless, the other a student, who could only dream of earning his top salary.

What The Sun uncovered was a pattern of behaviour and had we not done so Edwards’ could well have remained undetected.

“People have been jailed for years for rioting — yet paedophiles sharing pictures of young children being sexually abused somehow doesn’t warrant the same punishment?

“How can that be right? Huw Edwards has ruined my son’s life, totally ruined it.

“Sharing pictures of child abuse ruins lots of young lives. But where is the deterrent?”

The family had previously told The Sun of the “terrible strain” Edwards’ grooming of their child put them under.

It came to a head when the young man’s stepfather went to confront Edwards at Cardiff Central train station in May last year, after his mother saw messages that they were going to meet there.

After videoing Edwards but failing to speak to him, the stepfather complained to the BBC and was all but ignored — so the family then contacted The Sun.

People have been jailed for years for rioting — yet paedophiles sharing pictures of young children being sexually abused somehow doesn’t warrant the same punishment?

Victim's mother

The stepfather also told police about Edwards’ behaviour.

The construction worker met with officers several times when his teen stepson was arrested for attacking his mum while high on drugs paid for by gifts from Edwards.

a man in a suit and tie stands in front of a glass wall
Edwards was given a six-month suspended prison sentence

He said: “The police would come here and I spoke to one officer and told him about Huw sending money for explicit messages.

“The PC told me, ‘Huw’s done nothing wrong. We know he’s borderline but we can’t arrest him’.

“Now knowing what he’s done, it’s absolutely disgusting.

“The police should have done something a lot quicker. They knew what it was all about. They missed a chance to look at his phone and laptop then. They could have found a load more stuff.

“They weren’t interested. It would fall on deaf ears. They said it was consensual between two adults. But it was deeply immoral and had they looked into it, they would’ve found a trove of dodgy stuff on his phone.”

Edwards, meanwhile, was accessing disgusting pictures and videos as he continued to groom and message other impressionable young men.

The stepdad said: “It’s disgusting to hear what he’s done and know the police could’ve acted sooner.”

He has written to his MP and is demanding to meet BBC director-general Tim Davie in person.

He said: “He brought the BBC into disrepute but the BBC also brought themselves into disrepute. They should have put him on suspension without pay from day one.”

The young man’s mother is also concerned that the phone Edwards was using to share abuse videos has seemingly not been recovered.

She said: “It’s shocking that police didn’t recover the phone he was using to receive the child abuse images. It makes me think, how many more victims are there?

“It could be the phone he groomed my boy on. God knows what else could be on there.

“When I read the details of how he met the paedophile who shared these images with him, I was shocked. He again gave cash to a youngster for sex chat.

“And he was clearly using BBC money for all of this. I just thought, ‘It’s the same old Huw, doing it again, messaging for pictures and giving out money’. It sickens me.”

'Edwards completely fits the profile of a sexual predator', says ex Met cop

Ex cop and internet expert Jonathan Taylor said Edwards “completely” fits the profile of a sexual predator.

Jonathan, who spent 10 years working undercover with the Met police to snare groomers, said: “You had a young vulnerable person and a family crying out for help but Huw didn’t offer professional help like any adult would or should. He used it to his advantage.

“The parents concerned must have worried that Edwards was condemning their child to a lifetime of drug use.”

He said the exchanges between the 17-year-old and the powerful presenter were typical of groomers.

He added: “Hugh has made a decision to engage with this person rather than dismiss contact with someone much younger.

“These exchanges were the type I’d see as an undercover police officer when I’d pose as a young person. I would remain completely passive and the other person, in this case Huw, would try to instigate meetings.

“It shows a pattern of behaviour and I would not be at all surprised if more young people came forward.

“Edwards completely fits the profile of a sexual predator.”

Meanwhile, online safety charities have blasted social media companies for failing to stop Edwards, saying his abusive behaviour was “entirely preventable”.

The Internet Watch Foundation, which works to stop the spread of child sex abuse online, said images sent to Edwards by Williams could still be in circulation.

The charity called for regulators to enforce the Online Safety Act to make platforms such as WhatsApp, on which Edwards viewed illegal content, better protect underage victims of sexual exploitation.

Chief executive Derek Ray-Hill said: “There are thousands of people committing offences like those of Edwards and there is currently nothing to prevent this.

“Those exact images, as it stands, could still be in circulation on WhatsApp, sent again and again undetected.

“As the regulator, Ofcom needs to utilise the full strength of the Online Safety Act and compel companies to use their best endeavours to prevent images from circulating in end-to-end encrypted environments.”

He brought the BBC into disrepute but the BBC also brought themselves into disrepute. They should have put him on suspension without pay from day one

Victim's stepdad

The NSPCC’s Rani Govender said: “Online child sexual abuse is at record levels and offenders like Edwards who fuel this crime should be in no doubt about its severity and the impact it has on victims.

“Companies must also act by putting technology in place that can identify and disrupt child abuse images being shared on their messaging services so victims can be safeguarded and offenders prosecuted.”

And Lynn Perry, of children’s charity Barnardo’s, said: “Tens of thousands of children are sexually exploited or groomed online every year.

“We urge tech companies to take action to make sure abuse material can’t be shared on their platforms.

“When children are abused, and images of this are shared online, they must receive urgent, specialist support — something that is sadly unavailable to many children nationwide.”

Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips and the National Crime Agency have called on social media firms to ensure platforms are not “safe spaces for criminals”.

Facebook’s parent company Meta, which owns WhatsApp, was approached for comment.

Today Huw Edwards breathes free air but the suffering of his victims goes on

Misery goes on for Huw victims

FROM the BBC’s top news presenter to a convicted paedophile sex offender . . . Huw Edwards’ final public disgrace was handed down by a judge yesterday.

Many, though, will ask how the shamed star avoided prison given the sickening new court revelations.

PA
Huw Edwards’ final public disgrace was handed down by a judge[/caption]

When a paedophile asked online if he wanted “naughty pics and vids” of a young person, Edwards said: “Go on.”

He paid up to £1,500 to a pervert who sent him 41 depraved images including a video of a boy as young as seven.

Each was a real victim of horrific sexual abuse — their suffering obvious, their young life already ruined.

Edwards thought those images were “amazing”.

Not appalling, not horrific. Amazing.

We hold no brief whatsoever for yobs who made threats online during the riots.

But plenty were locked up without hesitation, including one for retweeting someone else’s post.

Yet Edwards, one-time pillar of the establishment, walked free with a six-month term suspended for two years.

He will be on the sex offenders’ register not for life, but for only seven years.

Indeed eight out of ten paedos with child abuse images avoid prison.

Why? Their crimes — Edwards’ crimes — are very, very far from victimless.

They fuel a heinous global trade in child sexual exploitation.

And we can only wonder what further offences police might have unearthed had they got hold of all of Edwards’ devices.

By the time they arrested him last November he had already been suspended by the BBC for four months — during which time the phone he used to swap messages with his paedophile pal had been disposed of.

Along with who knows what else?

The mother of the victim in our original story certainly believes the BBC predator should be in prison.

Phone was disposed of

The family watched their son, once a “normal, happy teenager”, spiral into drink and drug addiction fuelled by the star’s cash.

When the BBC ignored their complaints they came to us and we gave them a voice. But their trauma is ongoing.

The corporation was contrite yesterday. So it should be.

We hope other media figures, who with zero knowledge of the case initially claimed Edwards was innocent and idiotically attacked The Sun, are examining their consciences.

Was there a wilful blindness — from the police, his BBC employers and his media friends — over the true character of this once-respected household name?

Our thoughts now are with the victims of this grim scandal: The young man and family on whom we first reported

The Sun

Our thoughts now are with the victims of this grim scandal: The young man and family on whom we first reported.

And the unknown children whose abhorrent sexual violation so thrilled the BBC’s highest-paid journalist.

Today Edwards breathes free air.

But their suffering goes on.

No one should forget that.

Oregon Republicans ask governor to protect voter rolls after DMV registered noncitizens
SALEM, Oregon — Republican lawmakers in Oregon on Monday asked Democratic Gov. The error arose in part because Oregon has allowed noncitizens to get driver’s licenses since 2019, and the […]
