Who is Ronnie O’Sullivan’s ex-partner Laila Rouass?

RONNIE O’Sullivan is a snooker genius, breaking nearly every record and winning more titles than any other player in the history of the game.

Off the table The Rocket and his ex-partner Laila Rouass split up on September 19, 2024.

Laila Rouass is known for her roles in Holby City and Footballers’ Wives
GETTY

Who is Laila Rouass?

Laila Abdesselam Rouass was born June 22, 1971, in London to Moroccan parents.

She spent some time living in India in the 1990s and worked as a video jockey for Channel V.

Laila got her big break when she moved back to the UK in the early noughties and landed a top role on hit ITV series Footballers’ Wives playing WAG Amber Gates.

After the show ended, she landed another big part playing Sahira Shah in Holby City.

Are Laila Rouass and Ronnie O’Sullivan married?

Laila was engaged to snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan between 2013 and 2024.

But on September 19, 2024, The Sun exclusively revealed the actress and snooker star have called time on their relationship for good.

A friend of theirs told us: “Ronnie has spent months and months on the road this year doing snooker tours for big money in China and Saudi Arabia while Laila has been concentrating on her acting career.

“There is a lot of love between them but they have been going in different directions and conceded it is over.”

When Laila popped up on ITV’s This Morning in August to publicise her stint as Ayesha Siddhu in EastEnders, she was not wearing her diamond engagement ring.

Seven-times world champion Ronnie gave her the huge sparkler in 2013 — a year after they started dating.

“Ronnie called the estate agent, a friend of mine, and asked me out via her. When he said he was a snooker player, I said, ‘Yeah, but what does he do for a living?’

“I’d never heard of him as sport doesn’t interest me at all, although Ronnie’s won me over to snooker.”

The former couple’s most recent break-up isn’t their first, as in February 2022, reports claimed the couple had split up.

But by April of the same year, the Mirror said that the couple was “giving things another go”.

They first met when she was house-hunting that same year.

Laila previously told The Sun, she didn’t know that he was a snooker icon.

She said: “It happened by accident. I was shown around Ronnie’s house by his father, who told his son about meeting me.

Although they were engaged for over a decade, the pair never married.

Laila, who has been wed before, explained: “I’d have to really gear myself up for a wedding.

“At the moment we’ve put it on the back burner and we’re enjoying our time. There’s no rush.”

Ronnie added: “It becomes a bit more important as you get older for legal reasons, but for now we’re OK.”

The friction in the declining relationship could explain some of The Rocket’s poor form this season — for his exceptionally high standards at least.

Ronnie lost to 6-4 to Kyren Wilson in the semis of the Xi’an Grand Prix in August, before falling at the same stage and with the same result to China’s Si Jiahui in the Saudi Arabia Masters at the start of the following month.

Speaking of his form in Riradh, he told the WST: “Sometimes I just can’t wait to get out of the venue. It’s that bad, it’s that embarrassing, it’s that poor.

The Rocket then described his performance later in September at the English Open as “useless”, “awful” and “emabarrassing” as he was dumbed out in the first round 4-2 by He Guoqiang in Essex.

Ronnie once again hinted at retirement, telling Sun Sport: “I haven’t got long, I’m not going to deny it, I’m not playing well enough, there’s no point in even worrying about it — I’ve just accepted it now which is quite a nice place to be really.”

How many children does Laila Rouass have?

Laila has a daughter named Inez Khan, who was born in 2006.

She had her from her previous relationship with Nasir Khan.

They were together for three years from 2005 till 2008.

When was Laila Rouass on Strictly Come Dancing?

In 2009, Laila competed in Strictly Come Dancing with her partner Anton Du Beke.

She finished in fourth place and in February 2022, she said publicly that she did not enjoy her time on the show.

Laila explained on The Graham Norton Radio Show: “Oh my god that was a nightmare, it was a nightmare!

“I really wanted to leave, I didn’t enjoy it.

“I love the show but I wanted to do Blackpool and that’s six weeks, and so I go on, we do Blackpool, Rod Stewart‘s there, I’m thinking I’m living the dream.

“[After being voted through] you’ve got to go to the camera and go ‘thank you, thank you so much, and I go ‘I can’t believe this, I want to go home!’

“Six weeks and I wanted to go. You get paid the same anyway, whether you’re in the first week or the 17th week.”

Which TV shows have Laila Rouass appeared in?

Laila is mostly famous for Footballers’ Wives and Holby City.

However, her other roles include Azra McKinven in Traces in 2022, and playing Olivia in the Disney Channel series The Lodge in 2016.

She also portrayed Sarah Page in Primeval in 2009, and in 2003 starred in Hollyoaks as Dale Jackson.

Lalia also starred in the E! Original The Royals, alongside Elizabeth Hurley.

Her most recent part was that of Ayesha Siddhu in Eastenders, a part she played for five episodes in 2024.

‘I miss it sometimes,’ says Sir Alex Ferguson as former Man Utd manager opens up in rare interview

LEGENDARY Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has opened up about “missing” life in the Old Trafford dugout.

The 82-year-old retired from management in 2013 following a 27-year spell with United.

The legendary manager admits he misses being at Man Utd[/caption]

He is still widely considered one of the greatest managers of all-time, having won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions League titles.

Although he stepped away from the job over 11 years ago, Ferguson admits it has taken time to adjust to life outside of football.

In a rare interview with BBC Breakfast, the Scottish icon said: “Good yeah, I have been retired 11 years now so you find a way of adjusting.”

Asked if he misses life in management, he continued: “Yeah, I miss it sometimes.

“I think the first year after retirement, I went to the European final and I said to Cathy ‘this is what I miss’ – big games, the European games.

“So then I went to most of the European finals because I find something I can relate to, something I would liked to have done every day.

“Because these are the big events that United should always be involved in.”

Ferguson’s wife, Cathy, passed away last October at the age of 84.

The couple had been married for 57 years having tied the knot in 1966.

Cathy supported Fergie in his recovery after he suffered a brain haemorrhage six years ago.

The legendary boss made a full recovery after being given a 20 per cent chance of survival.

Ferguson spoke to BBC Breakfast as part of National Playlist Day, which is a UK-wide celebration of the power of meaningful music for people living with dementia.

He said: “Fortunately my memory is quite good, pray the lord and touch wood it will stay that way.

“I read a lot, I do quizzes, and I think that helps, there is the YouTube quizzes with 100 questions and if I don’t get 70 per cent I’m struggling.”

Nine managers Man Utd considered before keeping Erik ten Hag

ERIK TEN HAG appears to be safe as Man Utd manager, but the Dutchman edged dangerously close to the sack.

Here are nine managers Red Devils chiefs are reported to have considered for the job and what allegedly happened with each.

Gareth Southgate

Enjoys plenty of support among Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos chiefs but made clear he wouldn’t talk to any clubs until after Euro 2024. There is yet to be any suggestion that contact was made with the England boss.

Kieran McKenna

Talks were opened with McKenna’s representatives before the FA Cup final, but the former Man Utd coach opted to sign a new deal with Ipswich after Ten Hag’s Wembley win.

Roberto De Zerbi

Allegedly sounded out before the FA Cup final with salary expectations discussed. But Ineos chiefs concluded ex-Brighton boss was not the right fit for the project.

Thomas Frank

Brentford boss met Man Utd representatives the day before the FA Cup final. The Dane also dined with Ratcliffe, Roy Hodgson and Frank Lampard at the launch of a new Ineos car in February.

Marco Silva

Fulham boss reportedly met Man Utd representatives face-to-face two days before the FA Cup final, around the same time as Ten Hag was conducting his press conference.

Mauricio Pochettino

Fell out of Man Utd’s thinking in the first week of June, despite being a favourite of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Thomas Tuchel

Made a very strong impression and came across well during a Monaco meeting. Personal terms were discussed before the ex-Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss decided to step back from the process.

Ruben Amorim

Sporting boss was discussed by the Man Utd hierarchy but did not make the final reckoning.

Roberto Martinez

Portugal manager was considered in the early stages.

My premature son nearly died after being born under 4lbs… but I couldn’t use trauma as excuse for shambolic defeat

DENZEL BENTLEY has explained to SunSport how he went into his British title loss as a red-hot favourite – while terrified his 3lb baby son would lose his fight for life.

The Battersea middleweight was tipped to dominate Stoke hero Nathan Heaney last November and defend his Lonsdale belt with relative ease.

But Heaney put on a masterclass to cause the upset and whack 29-year-old Bentley’s world-title pursuit.

In trademark Peacock Gym style, Bentley refused to use his personal plight – and that of little Cairo’s – as an excuse.

For almost a year SunSport was happy to leave the traumatic tale untold in respect of Heaney’s performance and Bentley’s privacy.

But as the little tyke approaches his first birthday, we asked Daddy Cool to look back on those events.

Bentley explained: “The fight was November 18 and he wasn’t due until the second to last week of November and then he turned up mid-October, six weeks early.

“But I had already agreed the fight and I was already in camp, we had done around six weeks with about three to go, then boom, he pops up.

“I didn’t know what to do. It was traumatic for me and my missus, because of the way he arrived, doctors were saying that if we had left it 30 minutes longer he might not have made it.

“He was in intensive care for about 10 days so I am only doing gym-hospital-home.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

“I stopped everything else, nothing else mattered, I forgot about everything else.

“It was a shambles and then as soon as I finally got him home, I had to go to Manchester for fight week and the fight.

“I genuinely did not want to be there, I wanted to be at home with my son.

“I spent every minute on the phone to my missus asking what the news was, what the updates are, what the midwife has said, what’s he weigh – because he was under 4lbs – is he healthy, is he on track, is he behind?

“And – because I cannot be there physically – I just want to get the fight out of the way and get home.

“I probably should have pulled out but if I was taken back in time I probably would still take the fight again – because I don’t want to live with regrets.

ANTHONY JOSHUA VS DANIEL DUBOIS: All the information you need ahead of huge world title fight at Wembley

“I had to crack on and I underestimated Nathan because I thought I could beat him on my worst day.

“But it was my mistake, this is not an excuse, I felt I could beat him.

“I didn’t want to use it as an excuse, I see fighters make excuses and I don’t like it.

“I didn’t want to speak about it until I came back and put on some proper performances that show that different mindsets produce different performances.”

When will the little terror learn he played such a pivotal role in briefly derailing his father’s career?

Bentley laughed: “He has a month left.”

“Once he turns one, he can listen to what he caused and get a clip round the ear.”

In a much more serious tone, the throwback fighter and doting parent told us: “My son never asked me to bring him here.

“I brought him into the world so it’s up to me to make sure he is secure and he can live the life he deserves to live.”

The new hotel, which is set to become the world’s tallest, will span a whopping 104 storeys and cost an eye-watering £338 million to complete.

The structure that’s being built by Immo Prestige Limited and NORR, will offer 360-degree views over the stunning Dubai Marina, the Palm Jumeirah and even the Arabian Gulf.

It is set to have 1,042 rooms, including 150 suites, which will spread across the tower‘s 82 floors.

As well as the deluxe guest rooms and suites the impressive building will also provide premium features for the super rich.

These include the Ciel Observatory and Lounge on the 81st floor and a signature Sky Terrace with an infinity pool and Horizon Bar.

While the mega-structure hasn’t even been built yet, it’s already won various prestigious awards including the Best International Hotel Architecture and Best Hotel Architecture Arabia.

For the Ciel’s foundations, about 12,000 cubic metres of concrete and 2,700 tonnes of steel were used.

The leading architect for the super-structure Yahya Jan told CNN: “This project is not just about architecture. It’s about architecture and engineering coming together.

“That’s why I love the project so much. It is my passion, the convergence of science and art.

“When you design a project as complex as the Ciel, you can never let your guard down, you can never say it’s over. It’s a continuous process.”

It comes after incredible plans for the world’s second tallest skyscraper were revealed, which will include the highest nightclub and observation deck on the planet.

The Burj Azizi in Dubai is set to be an staggering 725 metres (2,379ft) high, coming just behind its neighbour and record holder the Burj Khalifa at 830 metres (2,723ft).

Azizi Developments say construction of the £1.15 billion tower – twice as big as The Shard – has already begun, and is expected to be completed in 2028.

Sales for the lavish skyscraper, planned to be over the 131 storeys, will launch next February, but the probably eye-watering prices have yet to be announced.

The Burj Azizi will feature a unique all-suite seven-star hotel inspired by seven cultural themes.

It will also see luxury residences ranging from penthouses to apartments and holiday homes.

The giant building will have a “one-of-a-kind” adrenaline zone and observation deck, where guests can soak up the desert views of Dubai.

Similarly, plans for a £1 billion skyscraper which include the world’s highest infinity pool, a royal penthouse and rainforest were revealed.

Buyers cans snap up an ultra-luxurious penthouse in Dubai that’s situated way up in the clouds – and you wouldn’t ever have to leave.

The £1bn Tiger Sky Tower claims it will break at least five world records when it’s completed – including the highest restaurant and infinity pool.

The Tiger Properties project is home to 18 luxurious penthouses at a whopping 1,398ft and a majestic royal penthouse at 1,400ft – the highest in the world.
