My fiance was cheating on me with a FRIEND – I quit my job, ghosted him & got the best revenge, but he says I’m childish

A WOMAN has revealed that her fiance was cheating on her with a mutual friend, so she made sure to get the ultimate revenge.

The frustrated woman explained that she realised that her partner, who she had been with for four years, was being unfaithful, after scrolling through his phone.

She also ghosted her mutual friends that knew about the cheating – ghosting is when someone suddenly cuts all communication with another person[/caption]

As a result, she got her comeuppance by clearing out all of the money she had added into their joint account, packed up and left.

Sharing her story on social media, the woman confessed all on the AITAH thread, under the username @PeakAfraid330.

The anonymous 27-year-old titled her post ‘AITA for ghosting my cheating fiance?’ and confessed that she dated her ex fiance Jonathan, 29, for four years, and they had been engaged for a couple of months.

She explained: “It was a good relationship, and I truly thought we would spend the rest of our lives together, but I guess I was just too naive to see the truth.

“To keep it short, I found out he had been cheating on me with a mutual friend for a couple of months, and that group of friends in particular were covering up his affair.

“They were all acting strange, so I went through his phone and I found out they had a separate group where they even made fun of me for not realising.

“I was furious, and my first impulse was to berate them all. However, I ended up deciding to just disappear from their lives. Any confrontation was clearly a waste of time with these people.”

The Reddit user explained that she made sure to get her revenge, as she added: “When he went to work the next day, I packed everything I owned, took all the money I put on our joint account (which was a lot, since we were paying for our wedding, we were planning a good honeymoon and wanted to buy a house).

“I blocked them from everywhere, put my accounts on private, changed my number and I went back to my hometown and stayed with my mum and stepdad.

“I was so mad I even left my job right away.

“I told my friends and family what had happened, and then I decided to go on a big trip with some of the money I had put on our joint account.

“I left for three months, I had the time of my life and came back home two months ago.

“I was able to get a job here, and I decided to start dating again.

“It’s nothing serious, but I have been seeing this nice guy for about a month. I’m just trying to put my life back on track.”

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.  You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere.  Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime.  A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.

But after spending time focusing on herself, the woman continued: “Anyway, recently my family and friends are telling me that my ex and our ex-mutual friends are bombarding them with texts on social media.

“They apparently want to know where I am and are asking how I’m doing, and they are saying what I did was childish and I should just talk to them at least.

“I have no intention of this, for me, it’s a closed phase of my life, and I literally did nothing at all, I just left.

“They will never see my face again or hear from me, and I told my close circle to just block or ignore them.”

REDDIT USERS REACT

Reddit users rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on the situation – with many praising her ‘classy’ response.

One person said: “What YOU are doing is CHILDISH?? They concealed an affair and mocked you for not realising it, and YOU are the childish one?? Go live your better life.”

You did the perfect thing! You brought your A game!

Another added: “This is classy as f**k. No response at all is a perfect response.

“They are dying to try to explain themselves, and you denying them that opportunity is amazing. Sending you all the best for your upcoming chapter in your life.”

A third commented: “Although I’m usually against ghosting in general, this is about the best reason to do so.

“You’re obviously punishing them all and they feel guilty by just disappearing. Good luck and God bless moving forward.”

Whilst someone else expressed: “You know what? You did the perfect thing! You brought your A game! I’m proud of you!!”

‘You can’t be serious,’ people cry as mum shares baby’s unique name – others say it ‘sounds like a troll’

A MUM came under fire after sharing the unique name she gave to her daughter.

People couldn’t wrap their heads around the moniker, joking it sounded like something you’d call a troll.

People joked that the name sounds like something you’d call a troll (stock image)[/caption]

The name was shared in a post on a Reddit group dedicated to name shaming.

Reddit user Pnknbby explained that she came across the unusual moniker when her former classmate posted about her newborn.

“[I] decided to check Facebook for the first time in awhile and the first thing I see is that a girl I went to middle school with named her daughter Creeklee,” the poster wrote.

“I think that is the worst name I heard so far.”

She pointed out that people seem to be following the same trend when naming their children.

“You can’t put ‘ly,’ ‘lee,’ or ‘leigh’ behind any word and make it a name,” she said.

She gave the examples of other names inspired by bodies of water that would’ve been more appropriate.

“I don’t like these names but they would’ve been a lot better: River, Riverly, Lake, Lakely, Ocean,” she explained.

Creeklee is an example of what Redit users refer to as a tragedeigh name.

The term is used to describe “a given name that has been deliberately misspelled or completely made up to appear more unique than it actually is.”

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the unusual name in the comments section.

“I’m imagining a cartoonish river troll. ‘Oh, your shovel went missing? Must of been Ole Creeklee,'” joked one reader.

“This is such a ‘girl I knew in middle school whose birth announcement I accidentally saw on Facebook’ thing to name a child,” said another commenter.

“This sounds more like sounds birds could make. Cree! Klee! Cree! Klee!” wrote a third person.

“My arthritis is causing my joints to go all sorts of creekly,” commented another Redditor.

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

YOU may think having a unique name helps you to stand out, but is it all it's cracked up to be?

Fabulous’ Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year – there seems to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.

“I closed my eyes for a moment in sheer resignation after reading that name,” said one person.

“Creeklee sounds like: ‘That’s a really old chair. It’s a bit creeklee,'” pointed out another reader.

“I do know someone with a son named Creek. I’m still not sure how I feel about it,” wrote one commenter.

“Reminds me of Pleakley, from Lilo & Stitch,” said another Reddit user.

“So sick of the ‘ly’ endings of made up names. Can we start the trend of ‘bert’ instead? Instead of like Kaylee can we have Kaybert instead?” asked one viewer.

‘Serial rapist’ Mohamed Al Fayed ‘combined WORST of Savile, Epstein & Weinstein’ with ‘100 victims’ & Harrods ‘cover-up’

MOHAMED Al Fayed’s alleged abuse of women “combined the worst of Jimmy Savile, Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein”, a lawyer has said.

The Egyptian billionaire, who died last year, is facing accusations he raped and sexually assaulted more than 20 female employees.

Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein was jailed for 23 years in February 2020[/caption]

But there are fears the total number of victims could exceed more than 100 as Dean Armstrong KC, representing the alleged victims, encouraged other potential victims to come forward today.

Speaking at a press conference, the lawyer described the former Harrods chairman as a “monster”.

He said: “This case combines some of the most horrific elements of the cases involving Jimmy Savile, Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein.

“Savile because in this case as in that the institution we say knew about the behaviour.

“Epstein, because in that case as in this there was a procurement system in place to source the women and girls – there are some very young victims in this – for abuse.

“And Weinstein because it was a person at the very top of the organisation who was abusing his power.

“We will say it plainly, Mohamed Al Fayed was a monster.”

The women, who worked at Harrods from the late 1980s to 2000s, claim assaults were carried out at the company’s offices, in Fayed’s London apartment, or on foreign trips often in Paris at the Ritz hotel.

An investigation by the BBC also claims he would regularly tour the department store’s sales floors to identify young female assistants.

Mr Drummond KC added: “This is one of the worst cases of corporate sexual exploitation that certainly I, and perhaps the world has ever seen.

“It was absolutely horrific and I can’t stress that word enough.”

He also accused Harrods of “having knowledge” of the abuse as early as 1995.

The new documentary – called Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods – hears claims that the store not only failed to intervene but also helped cover up allegations against Al Fayed.

The lawyer continued: “He was a monster enabled by a system. A system that pervaded Harrods.

“Those of you that have seen the documentary last night will know and may well remember very clearly the words of the manager who said the following: ‘Anyone who tells you they didn’t know what was going on is lying.’

“We welcome as a first step the admission at the end of the programme from Harrods that they had failed these women. However, they also claim they didn’t know about Al Fayed’s behaviour until 2023.

“We will say it plainly, that is simply not true. The BBC documentary as well as all the other material makes that clear.

“This was systematic abuse well before that time and within the knowledge of Harrods well before that time.”

One of Al Fayed’s alleged victims named Gemma, who worked for him as a personal assistant between 2007 and 2009, told of how his behaviour would turn more scary during work trips abroad.

She claims he raped her at Villa Windsor in Paris’s Bois de Boulogne, a former home of post-abdication King Edward VIII and his wife Wallis Simpson.

Gemma described waking up to find him attempting to get into bed with her, adding: “I told him, ‘No, I don’t want you to’.

“And he proceeded to just keep trying to get in the bed, at which point he was kind of on top of me and [I] really couldn’t move anywhere.

Who was Mohamed Al Fayed?

MOHAMED AL FAYED was best known as the owner of luxury department store Harrods and father of Princess Diana's boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed.

The billionaire died in August 2023 at the age of 94, almost 26 years to the day after the passing of his son.

Heini Wathen married Mohamed Al-Fayed in 1985 and the couple went on to have four children together; Jasmine, Karim, Camilla and Omar.

Heini and Mohamed’s romance began after they were introduced by Mohamed’s son Dodi.

The couple are portrayed by Hanna Alström and Salim Daw in the sixth and final season of Netflix‘s The Crown.

Before marrying Heini, Mohamed had been wed once before.

In 1954 he tied the knot with Saudi Arabian author Samira Khashoggi.

The pair split after two years but welcomed son Dodi together in 1955.

Dodi is Samira and Mohamed’s only child, but Mohamed went on to have four more kids with his second wife.

Prior to his death, Mohamed lived in a house near Oxted with his wife Heini.

The family estate in Surrey, named Barrow Green Court, is where both Mohamed and his son Dodi are buried.

His eldest son – Dodi – was killed alongside Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997.

“I was kind of face down on the bed and he just pressed himself on me.”

Harrods said in a statement to the BBC: “The Harrods of today is a very different organisation to the one owned and controlled by Al Fayed between 1985 and 2010.

“It is one that seeks to put the welfare of our employees at the heart of everything we do.

“Since new information came to light in 2023 about historic allegations of sexual abuse by Al Fayed, it has been our priority to settle claims in the quickest way possible.

“This process is still available for any current or former Harrods employees.

“While we cannot undo the past, we have been determined to do the right thing as an organisation, driven by the values we hold today, while ensuring that such behaviour can never be repeated in the future.”

Man, 32, pleads guilty to killing Amazon driver ‘dragged for half a mile to his death by stolen van’ – but denies murder

A MAN has pleaded guilty to killing an Amazon driver who was dragged for half a mile to his death when his van was stolen.

Claudiu-Carol Kondor, 42, was killed in Wortley, West Yorkshire, in August while making a delivery.

Footage showed the van racing away from the scene

Mark Ross, 32, appeared at Leeds Crown Court today where he admitted manslaughter.

But he will still stand trial for murder after pleading not guilty to the charge.

Ross was remanded into custody to next appear at the same court for his trial on March 4.

An inquest previously heard how Claudiu-Carol was “a Romanian gentleman who was contributing to society” when he was killed.

His cause of death was given as head and chest injuries.

Senior coroner Kevin McLoughlin said the tragic case involved the “violent and unnatural death of a valued citizen” as he adjourned the inquest.

The horror unfolded as Claudiu-Carol allegedly found a man behind the wheel of his Ford van when he returned from delivering a parcel.

He was dragged for half-a-mile when the van sped off while he clung desperately to the passenger door.

Footage showed the vehicle slamming into parked cars before the delivery driver was flung into the road.

Claudiu, who was engaged to his long-term partner, tragically couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene.

Tributes flooded in for the driver after a GoFundMe set up by his colleagues reached more than £20,000.

It read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the loss of our beloved colleague.

“Claudiu was a dedicated and cherished member of the SP Transport Group family, who tragically lost his life during a struggle that occurred in the midst of a van theft.

“This unimaginable loss has left us all devastated.

“Claudiu was more than just a colleague – he was a friend, a confidant, and a valued member of our team.

“His commitment to his work and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace will never be forgotten.

“The impact of this tragedy extends far beyond our workplace, affecting all who had the privilege of knowing Claudiu.”

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police also held a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender but she has been released under investigation.

Iconic hatchback loved in the 1980s just months away from return as small EV – & it’s set to rival the Fiat 500

AN ICONIC hatchback that was beloved by petrolheads in the ’80s is just months away from a return as a small EV to rival the Fiat 500.

The model will launch as one of the cheapest on the market, with an expected price of around £25,000.

The return of the Renault 5 is reported to be ‘imminent’[/caption]

The original model was discontinued in 1996[/caption]

The Renault 5 made its debut back in 1972 as a hardy but affordable supermini.

It swiftly found fame in its homeland, ranking as France’s most popular car every year between 1972 and 1986, with over 5 million made.

Success was also found in the UK, with the 5 gaining a cult following among enthusiasts along with its four-door cousin the Renault 7.

However, the model was finally discontinued in 1996, bringing a close to its 24-year production run.

That was until it was revived in February of this year as the Renault 5 E-tech, an electric version of the beloved classic.

Now, Autocar reports that the new motor has been spotted undergoing its final UK tests ahead of an “imminent” release.

The resurrected five takes its styling from the original but will sit on the same mechanical platform as the modern Nissan Juke and Renault Clio.

The battery pack will use a specially-designed inverter that has allowed designers to shave 15kg of weight and 3cm of length off compared to its sister models.

This has allowed the firm to put in a 40kWh battery, giving the 5 roughly doubly the capacity of the Zoe (another of its siblings) while still weighing 100kg less.

Bosses suggest that the focus has been on improving the dynamics of the cars, including relaxing the handling and a new suspension system.

The base model, 40kWh version is expected to have a range of around 186 miles, while the larger 52kWh variant can stretch to 249 miles.

The former will be equipped with rapid charging capability, while both include a very neat money-spinning feature.

New charging tech means the 5 can engage in bi-directional electricity transfer, allowing it to send out up to 11kWh of power to external devices.

In effect, this could allow drivers to take advantage of cheaper energy prices overnight, before selling energy back to the grid at peak hours to turn a profit.

This function will be offered in France via Renault’s Mobilize app and could make its way this side of the Channel too.

Speaking of the financials, the 5 is expected to come in at around £25,000, making it one of the cheapest EVs on the market and not far off the cheapest cars overall.

The brand puts this down to using a pre-existing platform, allowing it to undercut bespoke rivals like the £28,000 Fiat 500e.

Guillaume Sicard, Managing Director Renault UK, said: “Since the original concept was revealed, interest in the all-electric Renault 5 has been incredible.

“We strive to produce cars that support sustainable mobility yet are also emotive, and this award confirms that this is a winning formula in every sense.”
