I’m 40 but look even better than I did in my 20s – it’s all thanks to a trick that’s not even found in the beauty aisle

A MUM-of-one has showcased how she looks better aged 40 than she did in her Twenties.

Adriana Krzesniak is a lifestyle content creator who strongly believes that skincare starts on the inside.

Rather than promoting various lotions and potions, she instead shares diet and lifestyle tricks that can improve skin from the inside-out.

And there’s two foods she swears by to stop ageing in its tracks.

In a recent TikTok post, Adriana shared how her life “really started after 40”.

She even said that she believes she looks better now than she did aged 20, thanks to her improved lifestyle.

“Better make-up, better clothes, better money, more confidence, calmer lifestyle,” she wrote.

Adriana is also a big consumer of wild-caught salmon and turmeric – and says these are her key anti-ageing foods.

Neuroscientist Robert Love, who specialises in helping people fight Alzheimer’s disease, recently claimed that both salmon and turmeric are the ultimate anti-ageing foods for your skin AND brain.

Taking to TikTok in March this year, Adriana revealed that she strongly agrees.

As a regular consumer of both, she believes they are the secret to her youthful glow.

Wild-caught salmon is beneficial for both skin and brain health as it is rich in nutrients, especially omega-3 fatty acids.

The fatty acids present in salmon help maintain the skin’s moisture barrier, as well as reduce dryness and inflammation.

Furthermore, the omega-3s and proteins in salmon are believed to promote collagen production, which is essential for maintaining firm and youthful skin.

It’s also a good source of vitamin D, which supports skin cell growth and repair.

On the other hand, turmeric is beneficial for skin health thanks to its active compound curcumin.

Curcumin has powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial and wound-healing properties.

And as it’s a strong antioxidant, it neutralises any external nasties that manage to seep into your skin and damage it, such as pollution.

These antioxidant properties can also slow down the ageing process by protecting skin cells from damage that leads to wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity.

What is Collagen?

  • Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and provides strength and structure to the skin and muscles
  • It plays a significant role in maintaining skin elasticity and hydration
  • As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to wrinkles, sagging skin and decreased skin firmness
  • Collagen production starts to dwindle in our mid-to-late 20s and early 30s. By 40, it has dropped dramatically

It’s important to note that while collagen-based skincare products may offer benefits, their effectiveness can hugely vary.

Some experts suggest that topical application of collagen may have limited effectiveness compared to other skincare ingredients that stimulate collagen production within the skin.

State breeches levee to open new Bay Area slough

In terms of land, Solano County is a little bit smaller — and a whole lot wetter — than it was last week. On Wednesday, the Department of Water Resources breached a levee to officially open their Lookout Slough project, which they hope will provide years of flood relief and sea level rise mitigation.

It is managing to run so well that she completely retired from doing treatments at her beauty business in 2020.

Talking on her podcast called the Beauty Growth Academy, the entrepreneur says: “My beauty and aesthetic salon makes six figures a year and it completely runs without me.

“I retired from doing treatments in my beauty business in 2020, and I still make six figures a year.

“I don’t need to go into the salon if I don’t want to, and I’m on holiday every other month.”

The reason Alysha is able to do this is because she followed six rules and has then set them in place in her business.

First off, she praised her team for being so “great” and 95 per cent of her team who are with her now, have been with her for over five years.

She says: “I’ve got a really good relationship with every single one of them.”

Her second point was to ensure that there were policies and rules in place for clients and staff to make sure there are “no grey areas.”

She says: “They’re black and white. There are policies for clients and there are rules for staff.”

Alysha always has systems which help when it comes to running her business smoothly.

She says: “So, booking systems, cleaning schedules – all these things are in place and they work effectively.

“They don’t need me.”

Communication

Alysha believes it is important to always have a line of communication.

She says: “There’s always a line of communication available to me and there’s a chat with all the team in it.

Love all these things you have mentioned. Very valuable and transferable.

TikTok comment

“We’re all kept in the loop.”

Her fifth point is ensuring standards are kept high and that there are no “grey areas.”

High standards

She says: “The team knows exactly what the standards are for the salon.

“We know what is allowed and what is not allowed.”

Her final point that she believes helps make a business turnover six figures a year is having trust.

It takes hard work. It takes consistency.

She says: “This was always my biggest problem because I was a control freak.

“But once I learned how to trust and let go, I just had so much more freedom, not just in business, but in life as well.

Trust

“People out there making six figures a year make it look so simple and easy. It’s not f****** easy. There’s no shortcut.

“There’s no overnight success secret. It takes time.

“It takes hard work. It takes consistency.”

Many people rushed to the comments section after listening to the podcast to share their thoughts.

Tips on starting your own business

Getting Started

There are dozens of free resources for anyone who wants to start their own business.

You can find training and courses online from sites such as Meta Blueprint, which teaches you all about marketing through Facebook and Instagram for free.

Grow with Google has thousands of free training workshops, official certificates, and courses to help you learn all the skills you need to run a business.

Business networks such as Enterprise Nation, the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed, and the Federation of Small Businesses are great places to find information and tips online.

And there are loads of free business mentoring schemes from company-funded programmes such as the NatWest Accelerator and Barclays Eagle Labs.

The British Library has a range of start-up advice and workshops, many of them free, including a two-day course for aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners called Kickstart Your Business.

You can attend for free at the British Library in London or at any Business and IP Centre. You can find your nearest by checking on the British Library website.

The service also lets anyone with a clear business idea set up one-to-ones with high-flying business experts who can offer you helpful pointers.

Writing a Business Plan

Everyone looking to start a business should write a business plan to help get their idea off the ground.

According to the British Library’s Business and IP Centre, it’s the vital component for any business.

“It provides potential lenders and investors with a roadmap of how your business will operate and how you will go about achieving your goals,” it states.

What Are You Selling and Who’s Your Customer?

This sounds obvious, but it’s easy to try to be all things to all people. That rarely works. Stick to one idea to start with.

Who it’s for is a really important thing to get clear in your mind. You need to know who wants to buy what you’re selling.

Someone prepared to spend £1,000 on a diamond necklace isn’t necessarily the right customer if you’re selling craft friendship bracelets.

If you want to build websites for other companies, what kind of clients could you do a good job for?

A global company isn’t likely to choose a small start-up but another business just starting out might.

Once you know who your customer is, you can develop a clear plan for the best way to get your business, products, or services in front of them.

Seven Steps to a Successful Start-Up

Successful entrepreneur and CBE Emma Jones started Enterprise Nation in 2005 to support the growing number of people starting businesses.

Today, the small business support platform and membership community helps 800,000 firms a year.

The Sun asked her to share her top tips for would-be business owners.

And you don’t have to go all in straight away either.

Emma says: “Around 45% of all businesses are now started as a side-hustle, where people are holding down full or part-time employment and working on the business in the evenings and at weekends.

“It means you can test the idea first without having to take a salary in the early stages and invest profits back into the business.

“Don’t give up your day job – at least not straight away.”

Building a business can be hard work too – but can be worth it.

“Running your own business is so rewarding but it takes a lot of hard work and effort – but it’s brilliant to see the fruits of your labour come to fruition,” Emma says.

“But enjoy it! There’s nothing like the buzz you get from hitting targets and making sales.”

Watch bloodcurdling moment teen ‘murderer’ Carly Gregg, 14, GIGGLES in court after ‘fatally shooting mom in the face’

THIS is the bloodcurdling moment teen “murderer” Carly Gregg, 14, giggles in court after allegedly shooting her own mom in the face.

Gregg, now 15, allegedly killed 40-year-old math teacher Ashley Smylie, in their home in Mississippi in March.

At the start of proceedings on Thursday, Gregg was caught on Court TV footage trying to sickeningly stifle a laugh.

Footage shows the 15-year-old break a smile before quickly covering her mouth with her hand.

She then proceeds to pretend like she is leaning on her hand to continue covering her mouth.

Gregg still has a slight smile as the clip continues to play – despite being accused of murdering her own mother.

Gregg was 14 years old when she murdered her mom inside their home in Brandon, Mississippi, outside Jackson, after the two argued over her marijuana usage, prosecutors allege.

Horrifying surveillance footage in the house showed Gregg wearing a Nirvana tee and dark pants, walking from the kitchen to another room that morning before gunshots and screams rang out.

Gregg shot her mom in the neck, stole her phone, and went back to the kitchen to text her stepdad while playing with their two dogs, prosecutors allege.

The eerie video showed a stone-faced Gregg staring at her mom’s phone while she texted her stepdad, Heath, “When will you be home, honey?”

Gregg also texted a friend, referred to only as BC in court, and asked them to come over, prosecutors claim.

When BC came to the house, Gregg asked them, “Have you ever seen a dead body?” before leading the friend inside.

By the time Heath came home, BC was standing outside, where they heard gunfire.

Heath managed to wrestle the gun out of Gregg’s hand and then called police, prosecutors allege.

His shoulder was grazed by a bullet, but he otherwise came out unscathed.

Gregg, now 15, has pleaded not guilty by way of insanity, and her lawyers are claiming she blacked out during the shootings.

At the time of the killing, Gregg had been smoking marijuana for about six weeks and was on the anxiety and depression drugs Lexapro and Zoloft.

One psychiatrist testified that she was experiencing hallucinations around that time.

Gregg’s lawyers told the court that she has no memory of her mother’s murder.

DISTURBING BEHAVIORS

On Thursday, Gregg started her fourth day of trial with disturbing courtroom behavior by being caught laughing.

A raft of mental health professionals testified for Gregg’s case and debated the severity of her mental health struggles.

The teen had a troubled relationship with her mother but was described as a gifted child who excelled in school, Gregg’s former counselor Rebecca Kirk testified in court.

Gregg skipped the fourth grade and had no history of violence.

Her biological father was allegedly abusive toward her and had been diagnosed as bipolar.

Kirk saw Gregg for nine weeks at the beginning of 2024 for counseling and said the teen described some mental health struggles but seemed relatively normal.

The pair spent most of their time talking about school, and Gregg excitedly told Kirk she was reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

The book follows the main character’s conflicted feelings of guilt after he murders his neighbor.

Another professional, Dr. Jason Pickett, interviewed Gregg after her mother’s death and said, in his opinion, the teen does not meet the insanity requirements.

He doubted the teen had bipolar and questioned whether her father suffered from the mental disorder either.

Meanwhile, Dr. Andrew Clark, a medical psychiatrist, argued on Wednesday that Gregg had “blacked out” the day of the killing.

However, he suggested that Gregg could be capable of faking a mental health condition.

Gregg was offered a plea deal to serve 40 years in prison, but she dismissed it.

She faced a potential sentence of life in prison.
