THERE’S a VIP hotel suite in Spain that has a DJ Mixer, 52-inch flat-screen TV, a terrace with a hydro massage tub, and it boasts panoramic views over the Mediterranean.

The Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel is a legendary haunt of the rich and famous with music artists Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia performing at its club.

Is the I’m on Top of the World Suite the best in Spain?

Holidaymakers who want to glimpse the glittering life of a celebrity might want to book an overnight stay at the I’m on Top of the World suite.

Located on the eighth floor of the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, the suite spans for 200 square metres.

It has all the features you’d expect to find inside a plush hotel suite, including a king-size bed, a cluster of armchairs, a walk-in wardrobe, two bathrooms and a dining room table.

The sprawling suite has plenty of wow-factor amenities like a jacuzzi in the bedroom, a DJ table and stereo system, a huge 63-inch flat-screen TV and a champagne fridge.

There’s also a balcony with sofa beds, armchairs, hammocks and a jacuzzi – in case you were worried one wasn’t enough.

Guests are also given a Hermes welcome kit and a bottle of champagne upon arrival.

Some interesting extras can also be requested like tattoo kits and a bar stocked with alcoholic drinks.

And it’s not just the amenities that make the suite arguably one of the best in Spain, it’s the hotel services that are available to guests like a complimentary massage and preferential treatment over sunbeds.

Away from the rooms, there’s plenty to keep guests entertained like the hotel’s well-known stage where music legends have performed.

There are plenty of other amenities in the hotel, including five restaurants and two pools.

What is it like to stay at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel?

I’d already visited Ibiza four times, but for my 40th I wanted to go all out and stay at the cult hotel and club Ushuaïa, which opened in 2011. After all, you don’t go to Ibiza to sleep (although we did get some kip in the enormous bed and on the private beach).

Follow the beat
Just 10 minutes drive from Ibiza airport, we get our first glimpse of the Ushuaïa Tower, clad with giant wildflowers.

The aroma of mandarin and ginger, the hotel’s signature fragrance, wafts down the red carpet, while the modern arty decor, electronic dance soundtrack and welcome treats of sex on the beach cocktail lollies show us that we’ve found the right place.

From frogs dancing in the flowerbeds to giant ants climbing the whitewashed walls, the design is unique. There’s the spectacular party pool, private plunge pools and Playa d’en Bossa’s golden sands just steps away.

Everyone who’s anyone has played Ushuaïa, and this year Calvin Harris returns to a residency, alongside David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia. If you’re staying at the hotel, you’re on the guest list!

Our superior double room has mirrored walls, a waterfall shower, Clarins toiletries and a “maxibar” with spirits and snacks plus glitter tattoos and diamanté face masks.

At The Beach Club, we find beautiful feather-clad dancers and wellness cabanas offering massages.

Japanese restaurant Minami sits directly behind the main stage, offering incredible sushi, from £2 a piece and a front-row seat at the party, while Montauk Steakhouse cooks meat to perfection – try the sharing plate of tenderloin, ribeye, skirt steak and pichana, £41.50 per person.

Elsewhere, The Oyster & Caviar poolside bar has ceviche and fresh oysters on ice, £7 each, served with low-tempo beats, and The Beach by Ushuaia dishes up sharing paellas, from £32 per person, as well as the Unexpected Breakfast – with everything from steak to ice cream on offer come sunrise.

By Catherine Bennion-Pedley

The hotel has been praised by guests on TripAdvisor, with a 4.5/5 star rating from thousands of reviews.

One person wrote: “My husband and myself have Been going to Ushuaia for quite a few years now and the experience is exceptional every time.”

Another person added: “My stay at Ushuaia Hotel in Ibiza was fantastic! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was electric, and it only got better with the incredible events.”

Sun Online Travel have found overnight stays in the I’m on top of the World suite from £2,860.

Stays at the Junior Suite are a lot cheaper, starting from £135 per person.

Chilling new vid of doomed Titan sub wreckage strewn across ocean floor shows dome crew peered through before implosion

A CHILLING new video of the doomed Titan sub wreckage strewn across the ocean floor shows the dome the crew may have peered through before the implosion.

It comes as part of a two-week-long hearing into the tragedy that killed five people held in Charlestown, South Carolina, by the US Coast Guard.

More than 3,700m down on the seafloor lays the remains of the Titan submersible.

A new harrowing video of the remains shows “the aft dome, aft ring, remnants of the hull and carbon fibre debris”, the US Coast Guard said.

This could mean the five men on board may have peered out of the dome before tragically dying in the horrific implosion.

OceanGate’s former operations boss David Lochridge revealed earlier this week that the viewport and elements of the dome ceilings deviated from standard design processes.

Lochridge claimed said he was “appalled” by the O-ring – a type of seal.

He said: “There was so many laminations, so many voids. The imperfections were incredible.

“There was glue runs everywhere. And that’s a red flag.”

He described the hull as “porous paper. It was disgusting”.

He added: “Everything was reused.

“They reused these domes. They reused these ceiling faces. They reused the acrylic. They reused the interior. Everything was reused. It’s all cost.”

Lochridge was fired from the company in 2018 and had signed a non-disclosure agreement, preventing him from talking about OceanGate.

The former employee said he was glad he had been subpoenaed for the hearing so he could talk about the issues he had raised.

He also told the panel how the OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush allegedly threw a controller at his head in a heated disagreement after crashing the doomed sub.

The world was captivated when the sub vanished from sonar and failed to resurface from a dive 12,500ft down to the Titanic wreckage in the north Atlantic.

The hearing is exploring what went wrong on the day and the processes operator OceanGate went through when building the Titan.

It was revealed in the hearing that the last words from crew to the support ship Polar Prince said everything was “all good here”.

Audio became more spotty as it descended, with the Polar Prince asking if the Titan could see the Titanic on its display.

The Titan was still able to send one message when the submersible was 3,341m deep – an hour-and-a-half after it began its journey.

How the Titan tragedy unfolded

Five men plunged beneath the surface of the North Atlantic in a homemade sub in the hopes of exploring the Titnaic wreckage last year.

Four passengers paid £195,000 to go on the sub, with the fifth member of the trip being a crew.

But what was supposed to be a short trip spiralled into days of agony as the doomed Titan vanished without a trace on June 18, 2023.

The daring mission had been months in the making – and almost didn’t happen at the hands of harsh weather conditions in Newfoundland, Canada.

In a now chilling Facebook post, passenger Hamish Harding wrote: “Due to the worst winter in Newfoundland in 40 years, this mission is likely to be the first and only manned mission to the Titanic in 2023.

“A weather window has just opened up and we are going to attempt a dive tomorrow.”

It would be his final Facebook post.

The following morning, he and four others – led by Stockton Rush – began the 12,5000ft descent towards the bottom of the Atlantic.

But as it made its way down into the depths, the vessel lost all contact with its mother ship of the surface, the Polar Prince.

It sparked a frantic four day search for signs of life, with the hunt gripping the entire world.

There was hope that by some miracle, the crew was alive and desperately waiting to be saved.

But that sparked fears rescue teams were in a race against time as the sub only had a 96-hour oxygen supply when they set out, which would be quickly dwindling.

Then, when audio of banging sounds were detected under the water, it inspired hope that the victims were trapped and signalling to be rescued.

It heartbreakingly turned out that the banging noises were likely either ocean noises or from other search ships, the US Navy determined.

Countries around the world deployed their resources to aid the search, and within days the Odysseus remote-operated vehicle (ROV) was sent down to where the ghostly wreck of the Titanic sits.

The plan was for the ROV to hook onto the sub and bring it up 10,000ft, where it would meet another ROV before heading to the surface.

But any hopes of a phenomenal rescue were dashed when Odysseus came across a piece of debris from the sub around 1,600ft from the Titanic.

The rescue mission tragically then became a salvage task, and the heartbroken families of those on board were told the devastating news.

It was confirmed by the US Coast Guard that the sub has suffered a “catastrophic implosion”.

The message read: “dropped two wts” and was sent at 10.47am.

Six seconds after the message was sent the Titan was pinged for the final time at a depth of 3,346m.

There was no communications between it and the Polar Prince mother ship the indicated any trouble or emergency on board the sub.

The Polar Prince began to realise the worst had happened when it sent a message to the Titan at 10.49am saying it had “lost tracking”.

They continued to message the doomed sub every two to three minutes, but by 11.15am they told the Polar Prince’s master there had been a loss of communication.

US authorities said a “catastrophic implosion” occurred, killing all on board instantly.

On board were British explorer Hamish Harding, British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, OceanGate’s CEO Stockton Rush and French deep-sea explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

The coast guard were eventually called at 6.27pm after the Polar Prince had spent three hours searching.

“Presumed human remains” were recovered from the ocean floor in two recovery operations.

The remains were taken ashore and were matched with the profiles of the victims on board the submersible.

The hearing also heard that in 2018 the vessel was struck by lightning which left a “significant blow to the structure”.

That caused it to fail a test by a wide margin.

Rapid decompression also occurred during testing phases of the project years earlier, the hearing heard.

bombshell new lawsuit claims the explorers knew they were going to die after a failed last bid to save themselves.

OceanGate, the company that built the Titan, released a statement offering their “deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died”.

The spokesperson said: “There are no words to ease the loss endured by the families impacted by this tragic accident.”

The hearing is scheduled to last two weeks.

I’m a MAFS expert – here’s why Emma reminding Caspar of his sister could be a GOOD thing – and make the marriage work

A MARRIED At First Sight expert has opened up on why Emma reminding Caspar of his sister could actually be a good thing – and make their marriage work.

Charlene Douglas is an expert on the hit dating show, alongside Paul C. Brunson and Mel Schilling.

Caspar’s sister reminds him a lot of his new bride[/caption]

And she’s one of the masterminds behind the couples who get married on MAFS, and decided, with Paul and Mel, to put Emma and Caspar together.

But what they didn’t foresee is that New Forest based gardener Caspar would discover that his wife Emma reminds him a great deal of his sister.

This week, as the new series got off to an explosive start, the head gardener, 34, admitted he was not feeling the sexual chemistry with sales manager Emma, 31, after he compared her to his sister.

The newlyweds sit down for a chat following a full 24 hours of being married.

Caspar tells Emma: “I’ve been struggling, I don’t know if you’ve felt it. But I haven’t felt that spark I was hoping to feel.”

Trying to gain some clarity, Emma asks: “What started off those feelings?”

Caspar admits that some of the things Emma did on their wedding day reminded him of his sister.

A confused Emma says: “What did I do?”

He explains: “Watching you and her laugh together, there’s an element and sort of mannerisms – I’m equating one with the other and it’s not good.”

But despite this initial roadblock in their relationship, Charlene told The Sun that it could actually make their marriage stronger.

She explained: “The thing is, everyone’s response to this situation is different isn’t it.

“Because for someone people if you’re dating someone who reminds you of a family member they’d be like, oh, it kind of gives me a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling.

“Almost like you’d feel like they were really connected with your family.

“And particularly seeing how well Emma was obviously really connecting with his family, you know, for some guys that would be the dream.”

Charlene said it would be “like a sign from the universe,” and continued to add: “But you can also understand how it could feel a little bit uncomfortable.

“I think if you know the expectations that you’re going to be intimate with your new partner the fact that you thought they might look like or resemble a family member makes you understand how that could feel a bit a bit creepy.

“But I think for so many other people that your new partner really getting on with your family and connecting with your family could be great, almost like ‘the universe has sent me a wife.’”

The couple faced another challenge in their marriage this week, after Caspar brutally put her down by saying: “I’ve rarely gone for the curvier person,” leaving his bride gobsmacked.

She replies: “Do you think I look sexy tonight?”

A panicked Caspar is left breathing heavily as Emma asks: “But you don’t think I’m sexy?”

Caspar bluntly replies: “No.”

Emma went on: “So you didn’t fancy me and you don’t fancy me, right?”

“Not currently no, lets be honest,” Caspar admits.

Emma hits back and issued him some advice – saying he needs to work on his own outlook before judging women on their appearance.

She responds: “If you didn’t think I was sexy in my f***ing wedding dress and my gorgeous bikini today, I don’t know what hope there is.”

Clearly astonished by his comment, she put him in his place by saying: “But what we’re here to do is look beyond that and what you need to do is look beyond that because my personality, my confidence should help you be more confident and you should see qualities bigger than my clothes size.

“You need to work on your view of women.”
