The forward moved the ball to his right foot before bending a shot into the far corner beyond the outstretched arms of Saints goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

It was his first league goal since March 9 against Everton, 189 days ago, and his first in all competitions since March 17 against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

SunSport exclusively revealed how Rashford was taking extra training sessions with Van Nistelrooy in a bid to end his goal drought.

And after scoring against Southampton, Van Nistelrooy was seen holding his arms in the air to celebrate the goal.

Fans were loving the scenes from St Mary’s stadium and rushed to social media to share their thoughts.

One fan said: “Van Nistelrooy, a United legend himself, clearly sees a kindred spirit in Rashford. His reaction speaks volumes about the talent and potential he sees in the young Englishman.”

A second said: “Genuinely happy for Rashford, RVN having an impact.”

Another said: “He looked so proud of him.”

This week, Ruth teamed up with QVC UK to curate and style a clothing collection for viewers.

After sharing her outfits online, she wrapped up the work week by thanking her followers.

Ruth said: Thank you for watching, thank you for shopping, have a lovely weekend.”

She added: “I think I might get myself a little cheeky takeaway tonight, hope you’re doing the same.

“Have a lovely weekend and bye.”

Ruth and Jack then enjoyed a peaceful evening together, dining on chicken bhuna curry, white rice, saag aloo, chips, poppadoms, and a variety of dips.

This comes after ex Eamonn jetted off to Ibiza with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander.

Since going pubic with their romance, Eamonn and Katie have enjoyed trips away together.

Katie Alexander is a marriage counsellor from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

As of September 2024, she is 42 years old, which means she is 22 years Eamonn’s junior.

Taking big steps in their romance, the couple is now looking to make it more official, as a source close to the relationship counsellor told The Sun: “Katie’s assured him she’s in it for the long haul and they’re both settling down nicely.

“They’ve been spending so much time at his Kingston flat that they’re even looking to move in together permanently.

“Eamonn doesn’t want to stay in his rented place as it’s too small, too expensive and, without air conditioning, gets very hot.

“It’s on the basement floor as well, with people looking in as they walk past all the time so isn’t private enough for them.

“With that in mind, they’re really keen to move into a bigger place in the country with lots of land.

“Katie will obviously be there to care for Eamonn as he grows older and thinks it’s best to do that somewhere without prying eyes.”

The Sun has contacted Eamonn’s representatives for comment.

The Sun revealed the pair then became close after Eamonn’s split from Ruth.

Ruth and Eamonn split just four months ago after a 14 year relationship.
