Spin-off of huge reality show hits UK screens within days – and you can stream for free
REALITY telly fans are in for a treat as the spin-off of a top UK series hits screens in a matter of days.
Channel 4 will soon air the Australian version of nail-biting survival series, Hunted.
Channel 4 will broadcast the Australian version of a hit UK reality TV show[/caption] Hunted’s UK version began airing in 2015[/caption] It sees groups of fugitives attempt to outwit the expert Hunters[/caption] Brits will be able to watch the Australian version on Channel 4’s streaming service from September 20[/caption]The broadcaster has announced viewers can watch the show on their streaming service from September 20.
Ramping up anticipation, it outlines the basis of the programme and states: “A group of Australians must go off the grid and attempt to evade capture from expert hunters for a chance of winning a lucrative cash prize.”
A total of 18 Aussies will take part and attempt to evade a team of hunters for 21 days.
In doing so, the civilians are going head to head with a team of professionals who attempt to track them down using cutting-edge technical surveillance.
Whichever group wins bags a cash prize, providing motivation for both hunters and fugitives to take the large scale game of hide-and-seek seriously.
Yet viewers of the Down Under instalment will be hoping the charm of the early series remains.
Recently, UK viewers blasted the 2024 season as “unrealistic.”
Complaints centred on the methods Hunters are allowed to use when searching for their targets.
At the time, one viewer hit out on social media and wrote: “I wonder what unrealistic action we will see the Hunters use today to catch the Fugitives.
“Such a shame that Channel 4 ruin such a cool programme with nonsense.”
Another moaned: “How fixed was that.”
Hunted first began airing in 2015 on Channel 4.
The most recent series ended on April 21, although it had been filmed back in summer 2022 and kept on the shelf.
In April, we reported how the broadcaster had delayed re-commissioning the long-running series.
Hunted: Winners of the UK series so far
HUNTED has been delighting Channel 4 viewers since 2015. Yet who are the winners of the long-running reality TV series?

- 2016: Nick Cummings and Ayo Adesina
- 2018: Daniel Murphy, Joseph Appleton, Bob Ayling and Alex Ayling

BOOZE bosses are demanding a cut to the disastrous alcohol tax at the next Budget.
Gin and whisky makers say the last Government’s 10.1 per cent duty increase “spectacularly backfired” with a £300million drop in tax receipts.
Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves[/caption] Whisky makers are worried[/caption] Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will unveil the Budget in October[/caption]They have submitted a dossier to the Treasury on how the hike slammed the brakes on the spirit sector leading to spiralling “ginflation”.
The UK Spirits Alliance will launch a campaign next week calling on Chancellor Rachel Reeves to raise revenue by backing spirits in the Budget.
They will be driving an advertising van around Liverpool at the Labour Party Conference.
Liam Hirt from Circumstance Distillery said the decision to increase spirit duty had a “disastrous effect”.
He added: “This tax rise resulted in alcohol’s largest-ever contribution to inflation in 17 years, increasing costs for British producers and punishing a once-thriving sector.”
A Treasury spokesperson said: “Following the spending audit, the Chancellor has been clear that difficult decisions lie ahead on spending, welfare and tax to fix the foundations of our economy and address the £22 billion hole the government has inherited.
“Decisions on how to do that will be taken at the Budget in the round.”
Strictly star accused of ‘cheating’ by fellow celeb on launch show – but fans point out ‘elephant in the room’
A STRICTLY star has been accused of ‘cheating’ by a fellow celeb on the launch show – but fans point out an ‘elephant in the room’.
The BBC dancing series was back with a bang on Saturday night with 15 new celebrities ready to take to the dancefloor.
Jamie Borthwick has been called a ‘cheat’ by a Strictly co-star[/caption] Jamie won the 2023 Christmas Special[/caption] Pete Wicks also made a dig at Jamie’s previous stint on dancefloor during the launch show[/caption]But for one star – EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick – it isn’t his first time on the show, having taken part in the Christmas Special last year.
And Jamie’s new co-stars won’t let him forget it, with many of them taking digs at him throughout the launch show.
When host Claudia Winkleman turned to Jamie to talk to him at one point, Wynne Evans called out “cheat!”
Moments later, Claudia spoke to Pete Wicks about his decision to take part on the show, and if he was going to fully embrace the process and the bright, glittery costumes.
Pete said he was, as “you’re only here once” before adding with perfect timing: “Unless you’re Jamie”.
But as everyone laughed, Strictly viewers were quick to take to X about the jibes, and point out Jamie isn’t the only 2024 star who has been on the show before.
One wrote: “Me and my mum are dying of laughter when Wynne saying “cheat” when Jamie was talking.”
Another added: “Everyone’s going on about Jamie doing the Christmas special last year but JB also did it in 2012.”
A third commented: “So two of the celebrities this year have already won the Christmas special are we running out of celebs now.”
A fourth also pointed out that everyone seems to be forgetting JB did the Christmas Special in 2012 with former pro Ola Jordan.
They wrote: “is nobody going to address the Christmas JB shaped elephant in the room #Strictly.”
In fact, JB also won the festive glitterball trophy during the 2012 Christmas Special after dancing a Jive.
Meanwhile, fans were in tears after Amy Dowden returned to the dancefloor for a special routine following her battle with cancer.
And Strictly fans are convinced Amy is going to win this year, after being paired with JB.
Viewers wondered why no one was mentioning the fact JB Gill has also done a previous Christmas Special[/caption] JB won in 2012 with Ola Jordan[/caption]Ogun: PDP Conducts LG Congress, Says ‘We’re Ready To Take over’
