Appalachian State’s Guest Named Sun Belt Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

App State redshirt senior Calbert Guest was named Sun Belt Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The Fort Collins, Colo. native recorded an 8K personal best of 23:45.37 to clinch first at the Firetower Project Run in Boone on Sept. 13. Guest helped the men’s squad to its second first-place team finish of the season with 24 points.

This marks Guest’s first career SBC Cross Country Runner of the Week selection and the Mountaineers’ second selection of the 2024 campaign. Junior Ethan Lipham earned the season’s first honor on Sept. 4.

Guest and the Mountaineers will head to South Bend, Ind. on Oct. 4 to take part in Notre Dame’s Joe Piane Invitational.
